I dont know that the Murtha thing upset him as much as he was using it to illustrate how what may appear to us...may not be what is actually taking place.

Possibly. I guess I just figured since I don't care about what the writers write, why should he? He has bigger things to worry about but you could be right.

I don't see JT worried in the least. I see it more as a likely HOFer, and Dolphin Great getting fed up with media and fans pretending to know a whole lot more than they do, and saying Enough Is Enough. He has a great deal of pride in his game, deservedly so. Reading that he got beat up by some guy named Murtha has to piss him off, as well as people trying to be the "experts" they are not.

I loved his comments, and he was the perfect person to make them.

He's sick and tired of the negativity surrounding his team and his teammates. We are witnessing how Taylor is being a leader, even without a C on his jersey.

It is the principle more than anything to him, and he won't let his teammates take a bad rap. I like it, even though I still don't like the fact he went to the jets.

I'm warming up to him again.

Jason Taylor is a lowlife scumbag. I never was a fan of Channing Crowder's, but at least the guy is true to the spirit of the game—he speaks his mind, in the throwback tradition of other "loudmouths" we love and admire...a certain coach on the staff right now, as a matter of fact.

I'll take 10 Channing Crowders over one piece of **** who talked more **** when he was in those caca-green/white rags than Crowder has.

I don't see this at all about Crowder. He specifically is talking of fans, media, and former players. If anyone else on the team, owner to camp fodder, would have said this, it would have created an UPROAR. JT is entirely different, and just paid the first dividend on his signing.

not to defend jt too much cause he did play for the jests last year, but crowder isn't any better. he tried out for the patriots after being let go. at least jt speaks english and has done something in this league.

What I really want to know is if JT thought the pass was 3 feet off, or if the defender was 6 yards away. These are the hard questions that no one is asking!

I like the opening talking about the thermometer and the heat. Too bad we don't play in any hot sunny games in September anymore. I do think it could wear a team like New England down as the game gets into the 2nd half, when our players should be used to it more. I guess a great team can win in any condition though.

I like what they had to say about people's perceptions of camp. Well, week 1 it's a home game against New England, the first Monday Night game of the season after the lockout. Huge audience and excitement across the country, millions of people will be watching who aren't even Dolphins or Patriots fans. There is no better way to prove to people your team is for real than in that game.

I believe the defense will show up , but will the offensive line and RBs? If they can show up then I think Henne is at least good enough not to throw away the game if the pressure isn't all on him. Can't rely on him though.

I didn't think Crowder said anything wrong, but I like that JT is doing this... It is a rallying cry of sorts.

If that coach you speak of can keep this team together with the amount of venom being directed at his team, unjustly imo, than I think and hope you will respect the man..

I think this coach is smarter than you think about his players, the teams direction, and his adaptability..I noticed something in his interviews this year, there is a sense of confidence in his team, and to me, he has demonstrated he understands his players needs, and is doing something about it..The way he has conducted training camp for one is a great sign for him...

I commend JT for doing this actually. I think someone needs to put the know it all fans and media in their place. Dansby tells everyone to wait and see as well.
Personally this represents some needed valuable leadership.
Back your team. I was hoping these two would grasp that role this season.

Agreed, there is only so much any team can take, based on very limited practice and a glorified scrimmage in the first pre-season game, of media and fan criticism. Most Phans know better.

i dont think its a shot at Crowder... but the idea JT is saying is true...

i often wonder, do we want to see Henne throwing bombs all day in practice? what would that mean of our defense? should we have running lanes all over the place? i wouldn't like that for our defense

I would think if you have 1 play snapshot, a defense should "win" a play more than an offense... an average yard per play in the entire NFL is like 5.5 yards... yet in practices when we see a few incompletes, or we see a run for 3 yards we think our offense sucks... eventhough 2 plays later we might hit a 40 yard pass over the top...

also we dont know what guys are supposed to be practicing, what plays we are running, what recievers/check downs we might be trying to work on, etc etc... training camp is just an opportunity for fans and media to over analyze... in the end, some teams end up the exact opposite of how they looked in training camp, others continue the same as they looked in training camp... using it to base a prediction of the regular season just doesn't seem reliable...

I really don't care how or what you think honestly.
I'm just saying is all I want from JT is to be a leader and back this team. He is doing that here by telling all the whining crybaby fans and the irrational media to STFU.
I think I really love it.

Just as I couldn't possibly care less what you think; anyone who paints his face and goes out in public is either a clown or a serial killer, or both.

And I sincerely hope that JT gets cut so he can get back to where he belongs: sucking Rex Ryan's ****.

Funny how this "people don't know what they're talking about" shield tends to only get brought out and used whenever people criticize the team.

It goes both ways. The people that praise the team don't have a clue what they're talking about, either.

Not disagreeing with you bro. Personally, I like the leadership Taylor is bringing into the locker room. Whether his comments are justified or not, or whether he chooses to ignore his own words during times of praise like Ck mentioned or not, is irrelevant to me. We have a young team that needs comments like this from Taylor and Dansby. Right or wrong, it benefits our football team.

I agree that most of the criticism and praise is clueless. Right now it's mostly criticism so that's what's getting noted now. But last year before the season, I said that people were over estimating Henne. I thought much of that praise was clueless, just like so much of the current criticism is.

As for JT, I'm glad he said what he did. It's leadership that we lacked last year. The team is more likely to rally behind that when it's from a great, possibly HOF player.
