I agree with you bro. It's Henne's do or die time. All I've ever wanted to see is Henne get that chance. This year, new OC (albeit unproven), a full season of Marshall under his belt, Bess and now Bush, good defense....he should...he BETTER get it done or he's out of the NFL. At best maybe sitting the bench someplace for a few seasons and then gone. It's all up to him now.

However, the kid has been put into a situation to fail. Getting drafted by a 1-15 team. New coach. New owner...from top to bottom the Dolphins were in shambles. You'd have to be a fool to expect ANY QB to excel under those conditions...not in the NFL, nope, not going to happen. That 11-5 season may be the worst thing to happen to us since, well, the 1-15 season. It was a fluke and got people's hopes up.

Now, Henne's got the ball. It seems this regime has said, "Here ya' go kid...it's yours. We're behind you and we're going to succeed with you or we're going to all be on the street!"

Hopefully Henne can play like most people know he can play. Like these videos of him in this thread. The kid has the ability and now he just needs to get his mind on board.

    I get it and apologize.

In the end only Henne can shut this debate up by playing well or when Sparano and/or ireland are fired and a new regime comes in, so it is what it is.

lol Come on w/that thread title DJ.

I have no problem with anything he said.

I'm assuming he's just sour on Ireland bc his spot was upgraded, which is fiiine with me.

I will miss Crowder the mouth more than Crowder the player. Player interviews won't be quite as interesting now that both Ricky and Crowder are gone. I thought Crowder was always a straight-shooter without being disrespectful.

This year? Who? If there is someone available go get them.

I hope no matter what henne or Moore do this year we draft Luck/Barkely/Jones next year. I IMO think Henne can turn the corner and be a good qb, I dont think he can be elite. I think the qbs in this draft can be. So lets make the investment in a qb that can be elite and hope one of the 2 on the roster can be good enough to play next year as mentor or solid backup so the future is set and we can actually contend for something

I'm with you. But he's probably going to be on the radio this year and I love listening to the guy. Did you hear the end of the interview when he said that he's going to go to all the games and drink other peoples' liquor? LOL.

He was like, "After six year playing for this team I think some people out in the tailgates owe me some drink and food, I'm just gonna show up to games without a ticket, without anything, see how far I get on my winning personality."

I was laughing my butt off and suddenly I want to be at more tailgates to see if I see Channing Crowder.

Hell forget that, I just want to hang out with him because the man is a comic genius. I think I've actually met him a few times now, but he always ends up saying something (not necessarily to me) that has me cracking up.

Maybe it's because mroe people respect Channing as a long time, hard working Dolphin and realize that Florio is a douche.

And yes, I read PFT everyday. I have no reason to give as to why. I think maybe because it makes me laugh. Not laugh because it's funny, but laugh because I can't believe some of the crap they put up is considered "Pro Football Talk". It's almost like TMZ for guys who like football...

Look at what Sanchize is wearing...ohhhhh! Look at what so-and-so said about so-and-so...ahhhhh!! Look at me trying to make jokes...hahhaahah!!

To me, and this has me a bit steamed, these Defensive players who point fingers at the offense, after dropping 25 int chances, sort of piss me off.

Crowder pointed out the Browns game, if folks recall Carroll had a gift int right in the gut as the clock was winding down that he dropped, it would have changed the game, to then come out and say "well we only gave up 10 pts but you cannot win like..." is bull****, STHU and play better as a unit.

I'm glad Crowder is gone, that sort of mentality is weak and has no place on the Defense, you want players who hate giving up 1 pt, let alone 10, you want players who go all out and MAKE plays, not talk about what some other unit is doing.

That is what was lacking in our D, the Will to Dominate each and every opponent, no excuses, anything less then that mentality is unacceptable.

what Slick?, you don't think thats goin off ?, the guy just retired from his team and he's slammin the regime and the QB...Imo, its a punk move, regardless if it was honest...The guy hasn't done sh^% in the NFL to talk sh^% about anyone..You say you were a leader than take the high road for once..Of course he knew the story and interview would go national and only put more pressure on a team and QB that doesn't deserve it.

I dont disagree that Crowder was better served not saying what he did. But in the end IMO it means nothing. If Chad lets it effect him, then something else would rattle him and he would lose it. He has to be mentally tough enough. Same goes for the team. Doesnt matter what Florio says, it matters how the team reacts to it all. If they respond to it then it is in their heads and could be trouble. Sparanos no comment was the best way, just let it go. If henne comments it will be a mistake IMO.

Agree it only becomes a story if you let it. Best response is no response. just say "good old Channing hes a character"

I always like Channing because he was a character and made things fun, but for him to call out a player is bad. He could have said the same about his 6 yrs here, im not impressed by my game I need to take it to another level yada yada.

I think the defense has the right to talk about the Cleveland game. The real tragedy of that game to me is that for as great an effort the defense put out, as many people are going to remember the interception that wasn't (defense), as the interception that was (offense). But the defense did more than enough in that game.

On the other hand it's not like the defense didn't also let the team down.

The only defense who has done what Padre is suggesting is the 2000 Ravens. Even the Gruden coached Bucs ended up being a pretty efficient offense if not a scoring machine.

The Ravens that year won 4 games where the offense didn't score a TD. They were just rare and had guys who are rare.

Our D was more than good enough in the Cleveland and buffallo games.

I think the Giants in 07 could be thrown into that group. Eli Manning had a QBR in the 70s I believe.

Except their QB was a Pro Bowler and their offenses ranked 6th (2001), 12th (2003) and 4th (2004) in scoring. ;)

Defense definitely got them to the playoffs (73 rating), but Eli won once they got there (95 rating, with 3 fourth quarter game winning drives.)

Mentality is everything on Defense and you have to first make the playoffs before you make the SB, first things first.

I can recall the Bucs D being dominant, and finally breaking through, but the Eagles were as well and never made it through.

On a "fun" note the only team to go to back to back AFCCG's and lose, and go to a third and win it and make the SB was...the Raiders.

Otherwise, it does not happen, I'm looking at you Jests.

Eh i agree with vt and crowder. I once had a conversation with a friend about Kobe Bryant. I told him it pissed me off that even when Kobe was having the worst night shooting he was still taking the ball and shooting it. My friend pointed out to me that even on ****ty days winners still want the ball. After all its winning the bad games that make you great, not just winning on good days.

Hell even fat Hank was saying just as much on phinsiders tonight...and I dont care who spins this what way.

Ill defend Henne to a point, but in the end, its his deal to put up or shut up. Its more then evident now his team to win or lose. Time to get it done kid.

Could be the difference between say, Dan Henning and Brian Daboll.

I take a small measure of solace in the fact that we're drumming up all time greats like Brady and Kobe in order to bash Chad Henne, whom no one has ever claimed was a top tier player. Next we'll say Daniel Thomas and Reggie Bush are no good b/c they aren't on par with Jim Brown or Michael Jordan.

I prefer judging Henne on Chad Henne. Is he improving, is he making the same mistakes? Is he using a hard count, how are his play fakes, pocket presence, accuracy, leadership skills, etc? JMO.

    That’s a great point GM.

Last year’s MVP hasn’t won a playoff game in 3 years and Sanchez has won 4 in the last 2.

That suggests the surrounding cast might be more important as the signal caller.

My dilemma is that we won't know about Henne until it's too late. I believe the supporting cast is finally playoff quality.
