I'm sure I'll still participate to some degree. I can't help myself.

Does that mean that you have a link and we can PM you for details (in which case you can consider this such a PM) or that you don't know of any and we ought to let you know once we found one?

Well, yes, of course. Preseason's the only time of the year when you can watch someone play three snaps and announce to the world that this was exactly what you've been looking for all offseason without anyone giving you funny looks. What's not to love?

I am looking forward to see the different personnel, formations, and method of attacks on offense. I want to see the philosophy of this new O. How are we going to attack in terms of running the ball (w/ no Ricky or Ronnie... seems weird) and types of passes.

Defense I am not sure what to look for. I don't know if they are going to show a lot.

You might be and probably are correct.

But don't they have to practice their bread and butter plays, especially when you are installing a new offense on a shorten schedule? ... right?... maybe?....no? :)

Patrick Murphy. Has floated around a bit (2-3 teams) since being drafted a couple years ago (?). Has that Anthony Armstrong feel.

We better put up at least 30 points or we suck... :couch:

I'm just looking for a sense of competitiveness from this team. Last we saw them, they got thrashed up in New England and all hope was lost. We know what happened with Ross and Ireland flying out to make their pitch on Sparano's replacement. So I want to see that Sparano has this team by the balls again. That they are responding to him. That he's going to see someone make a mistake and he's going to let them know about it. Not just make a note on his play card and sigh to himself. I want to see fire. I want to see people flying around the ball. The Falcons are a super bowl contender. I want to see us go in there and take it to them physically. I don't care about the scoreboard, quite honestly. It's preseason and the score means nothing. Sure if it's close in the fourth quarter, a win is always nice to build on. But that fourth quarter squad these first couple of games are made up vastly by guys who won't make the team.

From the O, I want to see the first team guys make a couple of first downs and move the ball a bit. I don't want to see two three and outs. That's not asking for too much.

I'm curious b/c I don't know anything about him beyond his great speed/size ratio and that he's made some plays in practice. I'm hoping he's an upgrade to what we currently have at 5th WR.

I thought that was Pat Carter?

To me, we supposedly upgraded the speed on offense, they should show it this evening, a guy is explosive or they are not preseason or what have you, if we added a slew of 4.4/4.3 guys...let us see it.

The position of RT will be crucial. We cannot have a running game, nor protect Henne, if RT sucks this year. We must decide on the starter by next week, so whoever "shows up" today between cOlumbo and.. who's #2? , Garner?, whoever plays RT best should start to get 1st string reps or solidify as a starter by next pre-season game.

I hate to burst your bubble, but this pre-season, it's not even pre-season... it's actually "Practice". We won't even see typical pre-season level stuff. As Tony said, normally this game happens after 60 practices. This one is happening after around 7 practices, so he is treating it like another practice.

You guys may be right on the name being Carter. As I said, I don't know much about this guy.

And I agree, I'd like to see a couple of plays made that are nothing more than one of our fast guys overwhelming with speed. Well, obviously having short patterns where the receiver is in motion are part of it, but I'd love to see a play where the defender seems to have the angle and the speed just negates that.

Don't worry, it's not my bubble. It's simply what I'm pretty sure will happen. As soon as Henne has thrown a TD or a pick or missed a wide open WR or hit Marshall for a beautiful 25 yard gain, the whole glorified practice stuff will go out of the window for at least half of the board.

So Dansby was on first take today, first question was about how he felt to hear boos at practice..He said he was shakin his head on the sideline, and that the team got frustrated and couldn't get much done after that, said it was disrespectful..

Was asked how is Henne and the offense is looking this offseason, he laughed a bit sincerely, and said that the defense has to step up because the offense has been throwin the ball all over the place, and they just need to step up as a defense..Said that Bush is a nightmare matchup, said that Bush is making him a better player..BTW, this is one of the best cover linebackers in the league.

Henne is walkin the line iam sure, the few idiot fans have planted an ugly seed, if he can come out in the first quarter of the season and play well, it will be so much of a bigger achievement than just playing well, he would of done it over tremendous, I mean tremendous pressure..

I wish a reporter would ask the question..Coach, do you plan on moving Murtha to right tackle when Jake comes back.?

Shawn Murphy. Sparano loves Olinemen so much we've re-signed him and are giving him a look at WR because Sparano says he 'moves well for a guy his size, kay?'

He'll mostly be used on fly and post pattens.

I wish a reporter would ask Sparano when he intends to actually give a straight answer about what's wrong with Jake Long to begin with.

I just watched Padre's "Halo effect" video in the lounge and I think that same effect is in place here. People tend to focus on one characteristic and it colors their entire opinion of a person (or player in this case). I saw that with a buddy of mine who hated Marino. If Marino was yelling on the sideline then he was being a d*ck. If Marino threw a pass away during a blitz he was scared of getting hit. If Henne throws to the outlet receiver, he is checkdown Henne b/c he lacks confidence. If Brady does the exact same thing, he's going through his progressions and making the smart read. In my experience nobody is able to be objective about everything. There's always some thing, some button that makes people irrational about some things. I think Henne is one of those guys will never get a fair shake from some fans. I believe that even if Henne went on to win multiple SBs and have a HOF career that there would be many here that would forever say he benefitted from the system or the players around him or whatever. I hear the same things about Montana and Brady. I'm not saying that Henne is Montana or Brady, but I am saying that if players that have achieved that level of success aren't immune then no level of Henne success will change some people's minds.
