    A looong one folks:

    OmarK:

    Ben Volin:

Not messing with Armando's "live blog" stuff, to much to wade through.

I'll have to read through this mess and have something to say.

Sean Smith has been beaten twice for long TD's this afternoon, report is ''Smith cannot cover Brandon Marshall''

The reports did not say who threw both passes..

Good report on Matt Moore, and interesting that Omark mentioned SS24 is playing the same role he did last yr a sort of Cb/S and Carroll may handle the boundary corner.

We need a birdie update here. I'd been under the impression the shoulder was still an issue, not the knee Jake hurt during the fourth preseason game of 2010 getting playing time that everyone thought Tony Sparano was a dimwit for giving him.

    Henne.

I believe those were one on one pass coverage drills though. There's a reason they really don't bother labeling which QB threw the ball.

Well, iirc when they first came into the league Sparano did not want them to flip sides of the field as they had to know more responsiblities, in yr #3 it is much more practical and allows the D to be more flexible now VD or SS can shadow a Wr.

i thought it was his knee all the way, you dont kill a concrete wall with a medicine ball, if you have shoulder issues no ?, i still believe its a non issue, they just don´t wanna risk anything with Long, he was there all offseason with henne doing their practices, sparano just has learned from it from his mistake last year, i would play long the 3rd preseason game as a dress rehearsal, but thats it

Common sense tells us if he played with a torn labrum and a MCL in 2010 and played all 16 games, a full offseason of rest, 6 months worth, won't degrade his condition.

That and with the competition at RT it makes sense to have one of the competitors playing LT while the other one plays RT , it creates double the number of reps on film for the Coaches to use to make a decision that improves the Oline.

I would think they would look at other options first before risking Bush there, especially since he's been a good, but not great, returner in the past. You may see a situation where he's only put back there in big spots.

I think his primary reason for being here is to offer more options in the passing game, but on Returns, either kick off or punt returns, stick him back there when you'd like to try and force the opponent's kicker to make a mistake, like a kick off out of bounds, or out kick their coverage or what have you.

If that was the case, it'd be a little hard for him to be swinging medicine balls through walls, wouldn't it?

Man, Will Allen sounds DOA. All of a sudden, we're looking real thin at CB behind Vontae.

With Nolan Carroll as the #3? Sapp is still there, and Jimmy Wilson is in the mix

    Sapp is complete garbage, imo.

I like Wilson a lot but I think it'd be asking a hell of a lot for him to be a starting-caliber CB this year.

Nolan Carrol seems like he'd get his *** handed to him more often than not against most team's 2nd receiving options. He just seems very inconsistent so far.

Also, just heard that the staff had Lex learning the fullback position all last year... Lex Says he can play the role that Hillis played for Daboll last year..

With Clay and Lexy, I wonder if this is the end for Polite...I didn't like what I saw from Clay when he blocked in college...Lex says hes very comfortable in pass protection..

I posted this earlier today in the Club Padre, taken from the Armando mess:

Will Allen is not practicing again today. Cannot be good news.

No lineup changes for the starting OL. At least they are not mixing and matching so far this year. Of course, they also haven't played a game yet.

Odrick has been taking second team snaps, Image. I know the depth chart said third team but he's taking second-team snaps. They put him on third on the depth chart because he's coming back from injury.

By the way, Reshad Jones was on my radio show this morning. He said he wants to be called "Get it on Jones." I know. Crazy.

Some WR-DB batles: Roberto Wallace beats nate Ness. Marlon Moore beats Nolan Carroll.

    Vontae pass breakup vs. hartline.

Gates quick slant catch vs. Vontae.

Marshall takes Sean Smith deep for a TD

Marlon Moore toasts Wilson deep but pass is overthrown by Devlin.

Bess beats Bennie Sapp deep but pass overthrown by Moore.

    Brooks Foster drop.

Livas jukes Vontae, catches a 15 yard out.

Marshall beats Sean Smith again on a 40 yard TD. Smith cannot cover Marshall.

Hartline catche s 12 yard out vs. Wilson.

Bess catches a 12 yard out on the other side vs. Bennie Sapp.

Marlon Moore makes a leaping catch on a 30 yard pass over Jose Perez.

Different QBs are throwing the ball. All the Marshall completions came from Henne.

Play action to Reggie Bush, Henne pulls the ball out of RBs gut and fires deep to Brandon Marshall... Overthrown. Nice coverage by Sean Smith anyway.

Give left to Reggie Bush. runs into a wall. 2 yard gain.

Give up the middle to Daniel thomas. He cuts right and finds a crack. Thru to the secondary.

Sweep right to Reggie Bush. Terrible looking play as about 10 people were all piled up at the ball. No gain.

Matt Moore now in at QB. Give right to Bush off tackle. One yard.

Play action fake by Moore. Goes deep to Clyde Gates who isn't really open against Nolan Carroll. Overthrown. Incomplete.

Devlin is in for reps now: Hands to Lex Hilliard up the gut. One yard.

So much for Devlin. O"Connell in and throws to Livas down the left sideline. Overthrown. Incomplete.

Henne back in. Gives to Bush going left, nothing there, hits it back right and gets outside the boundry for 12 yards or so.

Give to Bush, goes wide around left end. Gains four yards.

Dolphins working 7 on 7. I've missed some plays, but henne has failed to connect on deep to medium passes to Bess, Gates, and Fasano.

Did hit Bess and Marshall on short out patterns, which are his strength.

WR Patrick Carter, fighting for attention, drops a pass between the numbers.

We're back to team period at the 10 yard line: Handoff to Bush for four yards. Inside running.

Another inside run. Polite hits the line and disappears and Bush follows and disappears. 1 yard.Maybe.

Another inside handoff. Nothing doing. Bush pops outside left for four yards.

Play action by Henne, looks for Clay in the flat. Throws out of his reach.

Twos now: Matt Moore play action, finds Roberto Wallace 25 yards downfield on a post. NIIIICE!

Daniel thomas pops thru a hole off left guard. Runs in the second level. Remember this is 2s vs. 2s.

Thomas off tackle left this time, nice explosion thru the hole, but trips for a five yard gain.

1s now- Henne play action. Holds. Holds. Goes to Shuler going out of bounds 15 yards downfield. Yeremiah Bell knocks it down.

Henne inaccurate throw along the right sideline to Lou Polite.

Matt Moore now. Hands to Grigsby who runs hard for a 6 yards.

Now Moore rolls right and hits Grigsby in the flat on the run for a 13 yard gain.

Moore to a wide open Charles Clay. Drop. He's had a few of those this camp.

Not a crisp practice by henne today.

Regather at the 28 yard line. Henne hits Marshall in the hands on a short comeback. Drop.

Reggie Bush left. Loses 2 yards. Jared Odrick with the tackle.

    They're not really tackling.

Henne one step drop hits Reggie Bush, lined in slot, on the run. Excellent play. Caught defense unprepared.

Handoff to Thomas. Starts left, cuts right. Stopped for 3 yards.

Moore in. Moore to Roberto Wallac in the flat. Gains 9 yards.

Thomas up the gut on a quick hitter. Pours through to the second level. Nice gain of 8ish.

Play action, Moore hits Wallace on an incut. Gain of 6ish.

Moore play action. Fires down the middle of the field. Ball sails. Tyrone Culver interception.

Now Devlin: Play action, throws downfield to spot and nobody there.

Devlin hads to Reggie Bush who is grabbed by a DLineman as soon as he got the ball. Ugh.

check this out..who's oline do we think is better, our's or the brown's?, cause theirs did a fine job blocking for a guy that doesn't have a hell of a lot of speed, yet had close to MVP type numbers..

Maybe this dude knows how to construct a good running game..and he sure as hell did not have a Marshall or bess or even a hartline to work with over there..
