He would be a good situational piece, a 1st and 2nd down ILB, but his health seems to have been declining.
I don't see why, Brandon Spikes is one of the few guys you can argue are better as 2-down run defenders.
I figured this would happen. The Patriots loved him coming out of college. They were about to draft him when Nick Saban took him first. We'll have to add Channing's name to the list of Dolphins that get up to New England and say "Wow, so this is how a real team does things" (Wes Welker, Sammy Morris, etc). Is what it is. Wouldn't be surprised if they give Ricky a call toward the end of camp/preseason too.
He may be good at just one thing, but that's the run game. I don't think the Patriots are worried about the Dolphins especially, and Jets when it comes to the passing game. And he would probably be better under the Pats system.
Friend Gardenhead: never underestimate coaching, coaching & coaching I sincerely hope you're right but know we will find out soon with bill belechek & the patriots have a bad feeling we'll see him again w/ a vengeance against our all-important run game unfortunately, for whatever reason, Crowder did not get his just desserts in Miami
Our washouts always seem to find new life with the Pats. Can't he go somewhere else and continue to be mediocre? I don't want him to go to New England and wind up being properly utilized and terrorizing us twice a year.
Mayo gets lots of pub because announcers like to use his last name in puns to prove how clever they are. ---REAL TALK!
Except his awareness stinks..... Remember back to the Houston game a few years back when the Texans were at the goal line. Renaldo Hill called Crowder over in coverage to his right and he vacated the middle of the field. Schaub ran right through the hole and they won the game. Just one example I know but there are others. He should have called time out instead of leaving the middle of the defense. He also left a gaping hole in a Saints game two years ago. A game where he got his *** handed to him. I still remember third string RB Mike Bell plowing him two or three times and that was when Channing picked the right hole which didn't happen most of the time. Athlete? Yes. Smart football player? Hell no!
this is how i see it...i couldn't stand crowder when he was here. he might as well be on the patriots so i could officially hate him.
Channing definitely has an upside, especially against the run. Personally, I always liked & respected him. As I posted before, it will come down to coaching, coaching & coaching. Just hope we don't meet an inspired Crowder creating mayhem against our all-important run-game this year. I think this will prove to be another bad Sparano decision. Won't take long to find out. Maybe I'm wrong, its just an opinion.
creating mayhem after our RB already gains 5 yards? ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo! were ****ed!
