(sigh) I don't know what's worse. The unpalatable taste of signing a 41 retread who hasn't had "it" in four years or the fact that it would probably make us better than we are now.
Sparano has commented on this, Omar posted quotes on his twitter: "I can't rule anything out...I'm giving you the only answer I can give you," Tony Sparano said about possibly exploring Brett Favre. "Sparano said the team signed Jason Taylor and explored Tiki Barber. So why wouldn't they be interested in Brett Favre?" Yes, he took the Vikings to the NFC Championship. But look what happened last year with his broken down body. I doubt it would be healed enough to get through a season. I'd rather have Henne this season. As a Dolphins fan I'm desperate for a playoff win, and a healthy Favre even at this age would probably do that....but I don't think he's healthy or will stay that way.
The fact that sparano won't even rule out Favre and talks about competition between Henne and Moore tells you all you need to know. They are looking for ANYBODY to replace Henne. All this criticism would start to go away if Sparano and Ireland came out and said "Henne is our starter, there is no competition, he's the leader of this team and we believe he is going to play great." They won't say that and thus the circus continues
You gotta get in line to get killed because of this team dude. I'm #4,335 in line. All the 'veteran' fans are ahead of me. On a side note, great avatar.
Absolutely right, my man. Next, we'll be saying that they are going to move Carey to guard and play Marc Colombo at RT. Such nonsense!
They keep trying to walk the line between shopping for other QBs and pretending everyone should be 100% behind Chad. A lot like what Ross did to Sparano when Ross shopped for Harbaugh. Or like a guy looking to upgrade his wife, but keeping her happy at the same time. LOL. We're just as bad off the field as on the field whenever it relates to the QB position.
You know what the saddes part is? Favre actually makes some sense. He knows Daboll and most of the offense. I can't believe I just typed that
Eaxactly. and when you do that, expect to hear alot more of the same from the fans. Tony is getting "We Want Cowher!" chants at some point this season, maybe even the first game. Lame ducks all around
One man's trash is another man's treasure...and when HIS treasure becomes trash, it becomes a bastion in which some disillusioned Dolphins Fans herald as the next big thing...Or something. I don't know. It seems that way lately. It's probably just baseless assumptions by the press, and then everyone and their mother takes off running with it, as is often the case in this age of instant everything.
Oh, X and O wise Favre makes a lot more sense than I'd be willing to admit. I just don't want to entertain that thought as Favre to Miami would mean that I'd actually have to root against Miami. He's one of only three guys that would make me do that.
Yeah, I can't stand Favre but I also couldn't stand LeBron James prior to July 8, 2010. Funny how your perspective changes when he suits up for your team
I don't think that would make any difference. In fact, it would probably bring more trouble than it would save.
laugh·ing·stock, noun \ˈla-fiŋ-ˌstäk, ˈlä-\ Definition of LAUGHINGSTOCK : an object of ridicule Examples of LAUGHINGSTOCK: The team has become the laughingstock of the league.
I think if they end up starting Henne to begin the season, and he plays poorly through the first 3-4 games, bringing in Favre would make sense.
I'm surprised there isn't more of a "Dave Hyde is an idiot" response to this. Not that he is, I just imagined proposing this would net him a truly terrible response.
That's how frusturated with Henne and the position in general people are. Favre honeslty seems like a reasonable option at this point. Certainly as reasonable as Matt Moore, whom Henne is now in open competition with per Sparano.
Usually it would, but our situation is so bad at QB that even this, however bad a suggestion it is, would make sense for us to do..... UGH ! Pass me the Pepto-Bismal !
I think the ridicule isn't there because it is a suggestion that makes your team an absolute circus and likely just a punch line. But deep down we are all admitting it may actually help in the win loss column. So it is a disgusting suggestion that makes us all sick, but may be a great idea?
Favre might be the best option at this point, but that doesn't make him a "reasonable" option. Don't even go there. This way, lost seasons and madness lie.
Hyde was just speculating but when Tony was asked about it he refused to rule it out. Thus it goes from a fantasy Dave Hyde cooked up to a legitimate possibility worthy of study and follow up.
You know, this is one of the only teams he could come back to as a savior (with the Henne reaction from fans) That being said, please god, don't let this happen after I killed Jet fans and Viking fans over the past few years for taking him!
Okay I'll remember that the next time someone in the rah-rah crowd suggests we bring in (insert name here).
At this point I'd take an entertaining train wreck over a boring and painful train wreck. And with favre there is that 15% chance that he catches 2009 lightining in the bottle and we're in the AFC title game. That 15% chance is probably worth it for me. I feel crazy for writing that, but it's the truth
Brett Favre?! can this be true? Via omar kelly twitter "If Brett Favre is serious about continuing his career the Dolphins are serious about making Miami his next NFL team.Favre has thinking to do" hahah really? if any interaction with favre exist then we really need to just stop resorting to henne because it will NEVER work this way.. henne will never be the guy we want him to be if we cant just go all in with him and stop attempting to bring in guys as his "competition"... i feel bad for the kid haha really. who know where theyre going with this one
The only way you lose a season is by telling the team your #1 goal isn't winning. At the least, Brett Favre will bring hope to the locker room.
