crowder has't played well in years and Carey was a turnstile the last half of the year. In Carey's defense, I heard he had some serious leg problems. crowder was just watching football being played around him.
Yea, Crowder played so bad that the Dolphins averaged at least 30 yards better at rushing defense with him in.
crowder is so talented he can't catch on with another team as a back up right now. We all have favorite players and I see yours. It's all opinions here.
There are a lot of players who do not have jobs right now. Lofa Tatupu for instance. It is not about favorite players, it is about looking at reality.
Penny had a much more effective ground game----> more weapons. Healthy WRs----> more weapons. Fasano & Martin---- more weapons. Healthy line----> weapons are meaningless without one. Penny had an offense that could stretch the field on the perimeter AND threaten it from the middle. Henne did NOT. Penny had a ground game that helped balance it out; Henne did NOT. Penny had a healthier Oline; Henne did not. Penny had all the above vs the 29th ranked schedule. Henne had no such luxury against the 3rd. It's not all about, "well he had that guy so such and such had more weapons". Well, "that guy" (out of shape Marshall) doesn't count as a weapon when the other receivers/TEs/backs can't keep a defense from draping players all over him to where his YAC is no longer pedestrian. Bess isn't a as a weapon when he's forced to play out of position on the perimeter because of injuries. He's a semi-weapon in the slot; that's it. It doesn't matter who each QB had. All that matters is that Penny's guys (including the run game) allowed him to attack a greater portion of the field (and forced defenses to cover more of it). That alone translates to a better surrounding cast. When you have both of your starting outside receivers injured for half a season, their practice squad fill-ins do NOT count as weapons. When your only TE is injured, his practice squad fill-in is NOT considered a weapon. 2 starting running backs who have completely lost a step and are no longer explosive are NOT considered weapons.
added: and Penny did SOOOO well in 2009 before Henne took over. If I recall, under similar circumstances (same offense & facing an equally tough schedule) Henne actually looked and performed better than Penny did...... but fans are so quick to forget this.
