it sure got quite with the dolphins and free agency Please tell me we are looking to bring in another wr and tight end because the way the jets are aproaching the season has me concerned that they are making the big push to get to the big game. I know most of you are not wanting another fast wr or tightend but I feel the presure to bring in more players because we are in a tough afc east division , although I should chill out I still cant help this feeling in my stomach of going 7-9 or worse . we shall see though is anyone else getting the mixed vibes about this team?
Have much more cap room do we have? I'm still hoping for TE Zach Miller, even so I'm realizing more and more it may be a pipe dream.
lol what have the Jets done that's significant this off season? They overpaid yet another player (Holmes), lost half of their UFAs, and their prize signing was Plaxico. Dolphins are steadily improving in areas we need to: ILB, getting healthy on defense, NT depth, had a good offensive draft, added speed to the offense, etc...It's been a successful off season so far.
Pads, i agree that we will very likely sign a G/C to shore up the interior line situation ... but also believe we will kick the tires on TE / RB / WR if the price is right. if you can upgrade on the cheap - why not ....
I've heard 4 to 5 million left in pure Cap Space with no restructures, but we also have 10 roster slots to fill Side note, we waived Lionel Dotson today so Fields could be signed.
Ok, why not even reach out to him?? This drives me nuts, I'm sure they have their reasons but Miller is about as good as it gets in a TE and would help our offense immensely.
They resigned that dirty little sh!t, backup safety Eric Smith, who can be beaten like a bass drum in coverage. So they have that going for them...which is nice.
I think we have enough cap room to make 1 splash, but from what I've read there's been minimal interest in Miller, and Raider people feel fairly confident they'll sign him between Aug 3rd-5th.
Hey MC, so what land of no extradition have you fled to now? It's gotta suck being a mercenary on the run because your abandoning country charged you with an international crime you didn't commit.
We have cap room, I don't see why they wouldn't want a solid offensive player. I don't want to put my hopes on Reggie Bush being Ricky Williams circa 2002/2003/2009 or Thomas being the 2011 Arian Foster. A team that's only had one winning season since 2005 should always look to improve. I can't make fun of what the Jets have done in FA since they've only had one losing season since 2005 and 2 AFC Championship game appearances, a place we haven't been since the 1992 season, closing in on two decades. Not many people thought Vick would ever be an NFL starter again and now the Eagles are Super Bowl contenders. Plaxico could be a good pickup for the Jets, have to take chances sometimes.
I dunno, these days he is getting pretty old. Lots of folks liking the relatively much younger Joseph Smith.
He is like the Pat Cobbs of the Defense, but does even less for us overall, just no...nooo...nooooooooooooooo I thought he and Cobbs were sent away as a tag team of roster space eating garbage this offseason.
Alrighty then...I'm gonna shower and shave, did the other one of the three S's earlier. Got some kind of fungus under my big toe nail that beginning to stink again. Can't remember if this is the big toe I smashed between 2 logs 30 some years ago, but 50/50 chance it is. See you good folks a little later. Would say catch ya on the flip flop, but that old CB trucker term confused a younger member the other day.
