I was in favor of competition, but not at the expense of next years premium picks. I see next year as a potentially great QB draft. I want to have the flexibility to at least try to move up and get a QB. I would prefer that to having two Henne level talents on the roster.
This is a total load. I'd love to see your source on 10M/yr + longterm contract. Last I heard he wanted was 6M for 4 yrs. Kolb got overpaid so he wants it, too. I agree, this is greedy. But your numbers are from outer space. Tim Tebow isn't a better QB than Orton... Yet.
Uhh.... From David Hyde, Sun Sentinel: "The problem is Orton wanting a Kevin Kolb-like deal ($63 million - $21 million guaranteed - over five years from Arizona). You can understand that. Orton has thrown 41 touchdowns against 21 interceptions in starting the past two years. Kolb has started seven games. Why wouldn't Orton want a similar deal?" http://weblogs.sun-sentinel.com/spor...tinel+blogs)
Those aren't the figures that came out in Denver that I saw. One other thing we heard here is that Orton was nearly signed with Miami until the Kolb deal, then he became jealous, essentially, and upped his price. This clown is going to stay here, bleed us for every penny, then give us the one-finger salute come January.
