Glad he got signed before the pads went on. With all the lockout b.s. no one has a stomach for holdouts this year, not even agents. lol. No time to lose.

Actually, does anyone know how rigid the rookie pay scale is? Maybe there is SO little room to negotiate that it is no longer worth having rookies hold out (from the agents/players perspective).

i dont think we'll ever see a rookie holdout ever again. The only reason these guys werent all signed weeks, maybe even months ago, was because of the cba agreement. I bet from this point forward all rookies will be signed within a month of getting drafted.

Theres no reason to holdout, under the new agreement players can only get a certain amount and that's it. Unless you're gonna pull an Eli Manning I guess.

I think you are 100% spot on. This is one of the best aspects of the new CBA. The big money will only go to the veterans who have earned it on an NFL field

The one thing I can say about Ireland is that he does a great job of gettin the rookies signed quick.

everyone is signing quick, there is a rookie wage scale this year. Newton just signed a contract for 30 million guaranteed less than bradfords contract from last yr.
