Smitty said the kid can play the third down role in this league, but worries about him holding up if he gets to many carries, said the kid has heart and played with a high ankle sprain most of the season, He countered that by saying He's been working his *** off in the offseason, put on 10 lbs of muscle, and ran that 4.37 at his proday at 201 lbs..He said his player has good vision, and some return ability. Just passin some info along.. The unit needs to be rebuilt and until we sign someone like Bradshaw or sproles his skillset is right for what we need.. We'll see if his coach has got some projection skills, and if he can make our football team, would be a very nice achievement.. For myself, I'll wait til he rocks the uni in preseason.
Good post DJ. Did the coach offer any explanation for him not getting drafted? I read that he was considered a mid round pick that fell off the charts.
No expert or anything, but while watching Grigsby's highlights I noticed he loves to cutback against the grain a lot. It looked to me like he has nice peripheral vision and is always looking for a way around defenders who are trying to contain him. Not sure if his playing speed matches his timed speed though because he seemed to get caught from behind quiet a bit on his long runs. Overall, he seems like a decent player. I hope he works out for us. Steve
As a native Tucsonian, I have been pushing Grigsby for a while now. Dude can move and has great vision. the type of quick, shifty back we need! This would be an awesome pickup.
nah GM but it seems like He and the players main concern was a slight body, but the news of him puttin on good weight and keeping his speed might do us well..
Its a long story, but here it goes.. One of my best friends played tight end at Kstate back in the day,I got pretty close with some of his coaches after he graduated thru him because of how he stayed close to them, so as my friend got older, he and some of Snyder's staff became buds, and when they would come to LA, I would start going out with them, {strip clubs, skybar, Just some good ole partying with those big twelve boys...Now when Snyder left Kstate, his staff got offers from other schools, but in the offseason, we all seem to meet up and hang out..To make a long story short, I've went toe to toe in the projection dept with them on occasion and think I earned some respect in their scouting circles, so I can hit'em up when there is a player thats connected to them and us.. If you remember the thread I started on Dtrain?, same coach in this case.
