Very interesting info. I was not aware of that. Even so, I'd say Navy Seals are more of a high risk profession than football players. You're saying 1k start Navy Seal training every year, with 750-800 washing out? Also, one would have to consider the number who apply for Navy Seal training and after having their application perused by those in charge, never even get accepted into the program. They'd be the same as all those college football players you mention, who never even get into an NFL training camp.
You contradict yourself in this post. How can you write they should "try to get as much money as they can" and then write "they make too much money"? There is no blame. People like to be entertained. Some people will spend money at the movies, some will buy a book, some go to Disney, and others will watch the NFL. The fact that the NFL draws huge number of fans who are willing to watch the games live, buy jersey's, buy Sunday Ticket, et. al. is the reason why owners and players make a great deal of money. There is nothing wrong with this and again, no "blame".
if the money is there, which it clearly is get all you can, with that being said they are all overpaid. not sure where the contradiction is.
