Since we need new thread topics here on the forum, I figured this might amuse some people. I got an email a little while ago, the contents of which read:

First: I've never talked to the guy, so his sales pitch needs work.

Second: let this be a lesson to you. If you steal Universaldraft's hard work and get exposed on Armando Salguero's blog, you too will be stuck selling football tickets during a lockout.

I needed a good laugh today.

This **** is killing me, and of course he sells tickets for the Dolphins. Of all the teams, its Miami.

How tempted am I to copy and paste his letter and send it back to him except instead of selling him tickets, selling him a subscription to UniversalDraft.com research...except literally only changing a few words.

Do you need his contact information? I didn't include it in the quoted excerpt, but… :shifty:

Maybe you could steal his list of "Potential Season Ticket Prospects" and sell it to Armando.

A couple of years ago, in response to the Sun-Sentinel's Universaldraft segments in Dave Hyde's column, the Miami Herald found a guy named Chris Cordero, an amateur talent evaluator who was looking to get his name out there in order to get hired as a scout. He got space in Armando Salguero's blog and wrote up his evaluation of the incoming draft class. At one point, he copy-pasted a table of player rankings from a Universaldraft column, rearranged one or two of the player rankings, and published it in Salguero's blog as his own work.

The UD guys caught it immediately. A crapstorm ensued as Salguero and the Herald initially ignored, then halfheartedly defended Cordero. Eventually it became nothing short of obvious that Cordero had simply ripped off the UD guys' work. Without announcement, retraction, or apology, Cordero's articles in Salguero's blog disappeared and he was never heard from again.

Now he's reappeared in the equivalent of football purgatory, selling tickets during a lockout. The ticket sales office is not quite the scouting job he wanted.

Well, I did some looking, and from the gist of this thread, this is the best I could do on limited information.

There needs to be a Chris Cordero Wikipedia page...

Meh. The guy is working and doing his best. Dude made a mistake and paid for it. I see no reason to pile on for him still trying to be involved with the NFL in some capacity.

And Chris is allowed to use the above defense against others if he so chooses. :shifty:

So what you're trying to say is that you are Chris Cordero?

No, no, no. My Manifestos ripoff Bill Simmons. I would never copy one of our own!

So now we're not good enough for you to steal from huh? I am insulted by that....and frankly I demand that you steal our work in the future.

Damn it man is there no end to your depravity?

We will have to meet in the middle. Any work that has "Alvin Harper" in it I shall steal. :shifty:

And no, no end to my depravity, but don't act like yours does. :wink2:
