No **** it's sensationalism. Never said it wasn't. That was not the point you were originally trying to make.

Is it required by law, no.
Does it help bolster a case, yes.

Our system is wasteful and needs to think outside the simple box. The jury felt there wasn't enough to convict..:that she was over charged. But she's obviously guilty, despite aged evidence.

She is no threat to you or me. If we can't put her down like a dog, let's not waste our tax dollars supporting her in prison either. The verdict should have simply been to remove her uterus.

This irresponsible monster will probably have another kid...and that is who she is a threat to. The system needs to get creative and effective.

She should have her uterus ripped out like it's 1850. And blam goes the gavel.

Exactly, it looks like what happened here was the jury went with the straight up legal definition.

As they should have.....if by all accounts she drowns in a pool and then they cover it up.....scumbag-ish and goes too hell??.......yep......Murder 1??.....not a chance....there is no premeditation, the child already is dead...HK is spot on about there being so much pressure to get a Capital charge that it clouded their judgement....Murder 2 doesnt even stick.....How can you prove that someone intended to drown that child in the pool, when the only people there are the family members, who for all purposes where tight lipped on how this happened, there is nobody to refute whether she was murdered first in the pool or accidently drown.....Somebody high up in that AG department has to pay for signing off on this Murder 1 angle.....

The most she could have been charged with and it had actually stuck was Negligent Bahavior-Death Resulting.......hate to say it, but it is true....

At the very least it was manslaughter. I still think the jury was in the wrong for not convicting her of that.

You're right about the moron part, what else would you expect from an Ohio St. fan?

That clown is one of the top defense attorney's in Florida. He doesn't need to get plea deal's, and the judge has no authority to sanction him for actions outside of the court room. He's over the top, but he's right on the media's handling of this case.

Also there's a lot of reports that this was his "swan song" and that he'll be retiring. We'll see.

Manslaughter requires some level of intent, negligence is dramatic indifference, such as letting your child play by the pool while you nap knowing the child cannot swim.

It doesnt matter if he is the top atty, if anything he should be held to a higher standard, if you dont think that Judges dont scold attys for ill behavior when they represent the Judical community as a whole, or that reputation of lawyers arent invovled in negotiated plea deals, I would say you are naive....The Judge/lawyer click is a tight one, hence they call each other "brothers" and ''sisters" when referring to each other in open court....most all Judges were all practicing attys at one time, and they police there own.....I have seen it happen plenty of times, and is actually pretty funny when it does....

If she can lose her kid and party like it's 1999 she can live with any guilt that would keep her from sleeping or cashing in on this.

I really only followed this case on the final days and while I don't really have a thought on the verdict, I do on the media. The media got everyone emotionally attached to the case and painted Anthony as evil. Whether she is or isn't is a different story, though the verdict answers that legally speaking I suppose, but they really tore her down and got a lot of the American population against Anthony. Soemthing has to be done about that. Not necessarily censorship, but someones got to set some boundaries for people like Nancy Grace, who has become a hype machine. She really didn't have to blow this thing up nor did the rest of the talking heads.

That'd be a solution. I think I heard on CNN someone say something similar to that. They don't allow it in Russia or Germany or something to that extent.

Thing is some Judges are how we say egomanics, and want the attention....I dont know if thats the case here, but I am not sure how this differs from any other child murder case in America...

Her mother testified that she was searching for chloroform on the computer. That was a pretty big deal for the defense.

The state of Florida, instead of trying to appease lynch mobs with first degree capital murder charges should have went for a charge they could have got a conviction on such as manslaughter. There was not enough evidence to stick a needle in Casey Anthony and end her life. There was however possibly enough to send her away to prison for a while. The system needs to use common sense.

Just more circumstantial evidence that doesn't cut it for a capital murder conviction.

It doesn't really. A couple of years or so ago when I lived in Augusta, GA a woman took her two kids into a gas station bathroom and stabbed them to death with a steak knife. She was caught red handed. I don't think the story made any headline outside of the Augusta Chronicle. Maybe because there was no mystery, I don't know. It was equally as tragic but nothing. The woman got off with temporary insanity.
