I'm pretty sure most know about this, but just in case. Steam is having its annual blowout sale, with a rotating list of games on sale every day through July 10, and publisher catalogs usually around 25% off. Just load up Steam and click the Store tab. Today's notables are Just Cause 2 for $5, Black Ops for $40, Braid for $2.50, and Shogun 2 for $30. Amazon is having a huge sale on downloadable games past and present, as much as 75% off in some instances. Bad Company 2 for $5, Crysis 2 for $24, Total Annihilation for $5, Fallout and Fallout 2 for $5 each, and ArmA 2 and Operation Arrowhead for $20 each.
I've already bought too many games off gamersgate and steam in the past week. KOTOR, which I've never played, is only $2.50(!!) on steam right now.
I'll have to check that out... of course Amazon now has to charge California sales tax for those of us (un)fortunate enough to call California their home state...
At the risk of bringing the PoFo into this, elections have consequences. Still, for games as low as 5 bucks, it's not too bad.
Nothing worth getting IMO, unless you really need a controller or something. The games really aren't good deals. I've seen Monopoly Streets (PS3) on clearance at Target (as one example) for like $7.98.
I imagine that by the end of this sale my pc backlog will rival, if not exceed, my backlog for this gen's consoles (counting the wii and DS). I know there are a couple more days of sale left, and I'm probably not going to pay more than about $6 for any single game after getting the THQ pack. Two games I really want to see on sale in the next few days are GRID and Crysis. Like Grid, I'd probably pick up Need for Speed Hot Pursuit and Burnout Paradise again if they're cheap enough.
And you haven't even discovered emulation yet. Going to be tough to beat Amazon's $12 offer for Crysis. Also, be on the lookout for Crysis: Warhead, which lets you play as another member of the squad during the same time frame as the main game.
