KONAMI E3 SCHEDULE (ALL TIMES PST): NEWS SOURCES: Nintendo will present Project Cafe, the successor to the Wii; the 3DS eShop will launch June 6; and is expected to show off Zelda: Skyward Sword, Super Mario 3DS, Star Fox 65 3DS, Kid Icarus, explain the 3DS eShop and available titles through that service, and show off Ocarina of Time 3DS. Rumors include a new Animal Crossing 3DS game, a new Smash Bros game, Microsoft is expected to present Forza 4, Gears of War 3, Star Wars Kinect, and others. Rumored games include a new Alan Wake game, an HD remake of Halo: Combat Evolved, and a Kinect-capable version of Ghost Recon: Future Soldier. Rumored other announcements include Kinect improvements and a potential 360 price drop. Sony will show off NGP/PS Vita, games, and hardware pricing. Expected PS3 games include Resistance 3, inFAMOUS 2, Twisted Metal, and Uncharted 3. Rumored games include God of War 4, a Grand Theft Auto V reveal, Syphon Filter 4, and a PSP Remaster series that will basically be HD versions of PSP games on the PS3. Kinect Star Wars interests me - do we know anything about it yet? More of a kiddie type game, a shooter, space/flying combat, strategy, other?
Since I don't play any portables, can anybody tell me if this one is any good? Will Metal Gear Rising have Snake in it at all? I thought I remember reading awhile back he might not be in the next one.
Yes, Peace Walker is excellent. No, Snake will not be in MGS Rising. Kojima retired Solid Snake as a video game character in MGS4: that was his last hurrah. No more Solid Snake ever, supposedly. MGS Rising stars Raiden and appears to be set before MGS4.
Few games I'm interested in but one thing I'd like is more information on The Old Republic's release. Doesn't have to be a release date, but a general time-frame more specific than sometime before 2012 would be nice. Posted today, blah. Played enough rushed MMOs I don't care how long it takes, just wish I had a better idea of when to expect it.
EA/DICE just took a shot at Call of Duty Elite. They’re setting up a similar portal for BF3, but with more content for free. Also, they’re not showing off team deathmatch or the co-op modes at E3. Edit: but they are showing off multiplayer.

Really? Got a link? That's too bad, we'll see if I can remain interested in the series with no Snake. I remember thinking the 2nd half of MGS2 really sucked once Snake's half was done. Didn't even finish it. Tried to get back into it couple years back, but just couldn't get into it like other Metal Gear games.
Sadly, no. Going off memory from a couple of years ago. And since I can’t find a link, I’m starting to doubt it. Still, Solid Snake has retired from video games. MGS4 was his last mission. That’s not up for dispute. They may work him into a cameo or something set prior to MGS4 at some point (MGSR?) but Kojima did something that no one else has done, retired a video game character for good. (As opposed to “don’t make another game with that crappy *** character”.) Really? MGS2 is the best in the series, IMO. You have to understand that you’re getting more than just a simple by the numbers video game when you play it, you’re getting what’s basically a meta-game that’s aware of itself and its conventions and turns them upside-down. For example: Raiden is there as a substitute for the player. He’s someone who basically played a lot of video games (VR sims of the Shadow Moses incident, aka MGS1) and is qualified as an elite commando on that basis alone. That’s Kojima poking fun at the person holding the controller. And the fact that MGS2 is set up to unfold like MGS1’s Shadow Moses incident is Kojima poking fun at sequels in general. There’s more, but I’d have to spoil the game to talk about it. You should really replay MGS2 when the HD Collection is out. As for a game without Solid Snake, well, you had that in MGS3 and people think that’s the greatest Metal Gear game of all time. MGS Rising also looks incredible, and there’s no Solid Snake in that.

Yeah, that’s been around since the Project Cafe “unveiling”. It doesn’t jive with the supposed photographs we’ve seen, but we’ll see tomorrow. Anyway, Gamespot has an exclusive Final Fantasy XIII-2 teaser trailer. I see some areas that may have been in FF13, meaning there might be flashbacks again. Strangely, I think this will actually be a pretty good game, as long as there’s more of a story.
Likelihood is above 50%. There was a Target ad about a week ago that had a price drop associated with the 360, but was taken offline.

Already have it for PS2 and I plan to go back to it, but I've been too distracted with other games. I also have 3 waiting in the wings that I haven't played. I'll try and finish them off before Rising comes out.

Halo 4 in 2012. Master Chief returns. Starts “a new trilogy”. Microsoft’s probably thinking “Halo VII will finally trump Final Fantasy VII as the greatest seventh game ever!” Halo 1 HD remake in November. November: the month when gaming stood still, because apparently everything worth a damn is coming out that month.
Ninja Gaiden III trailer. We may actually have the best action game on our hands since Ninja Gaiden Black here. Looks like it has some tie-in homages to the original NES NG3.
