http://miamiherald.typepad.com/dolphins_in_depth/ Here's Mondo's ranks of the complete Phins roster, including rookies. I'll list his top 15, and the PFF overall grade next to them. 1- Long, 24.3 2- Wake, 38.6 3- Marshall, 3.8 4- Dansby, 14.8 5- Soliai, 17.7 6- Starks, 9.6 7- Bess, 6.5 8- Bell, 9.4 9- Davis, 9.0 10- Langford, 14.3 11- Merling, -2.1 12- Smith, 9.9 13- Hartline, 1.9 14- Crowder, 12.4 15- Misi, 15.1 Others from PFF- Fasano-12.7, Fields-15.9, McD-6.5, Carpenter- 7.0, dobbins- 5.2, and Incognito- 4.1. Henne got a 24.8 but, that is misleading. The top QB was at 61, RB and WR were at 24/25. Who did better and how would you rank the top?
There is a very good chance that Lexxy has more of a shot at being the #2 Rb then people may realize. -his time at Fb should have familiarized him with blocking schemes -he did farily well in 2009 filling in for Ronnie B -Daboll likes one cut runners and that is his style.
Mando puts Marshall before Dansby based on last year? Reason #783 Mando is a mouth-breathing, nipple-headed f-stick.
Lexxy is a bit like a Rhino Conu, not a whole lot of wiggle, can be knocked over surprisingly easy, do want to be in front of one when it charges.. To me, Lexxy did well in 2009, as backup guy he put up some good numbers.
I don't know that it has to mean anything other than making a good, single decision once you hit the heels of the offensive linemen. I don't think that you can say outright he doesn't have the quickness of decision making skills for it. I don't think we're going to be doing a bunch of cut blocking on the backside where the runner is going to be hitting the very back side of the play.
I based my top ten on last year, and what I expect this year. I came up with 3 different brackets, within the 10, because I did not see a separation between those players and have ties for #1, #3, and #6. 1- Wake 1- Long 3- Dansby 3- Davis 3- Marshall 6- Langford 6- Soliai 6- Misi 6- Smith 6- Starks My next bracket is Bess, Fasano, Bell, and Pouncey. I believe they all will be VERY solid but not stars (comparatively speaking), although Pouncey has a shot this year or next. My surprises to exceed everyone's expectations are Hartline and Clay.
