Owners are doing a new proposal. Both sides say there was progress. and they will extend talks into the night. Also, the court ruled to continue the lockout until June 3.
Have to call Bull**** on that SB, what should be realized here is neither side has much reason to budge an inch, Judge Doty will drop a anti trust monetary damages hammer on the NFL, the lockout case will trundle forward and take months to wind through the courts. My plan B is the CFL, if they keep this up it becomes my plan A(2) if it continues further I'm done.
Disagree Padre, ESPN's progress report came after the lockout report. Carl Eller and his lawyer said both sides saw progress, which was why they agreed to cme back for a night session. Pats owner Kraft said that have reached the point of losing fans. You and I both agree. We shall see.
Neither side has any interest in being publicly militant SB, they will always say the right things in front of the cameras. Oddly enough, I am paying more attention to MLB then I have in awhile.
Was listening to some cat on the radio just now and he said that the owners getting together to offer a new deal was pretty big. We'll see if it's good enough though....
True, and the NHL sounds awesome on the home sound system thing is, not a fan of any of the remaining teams. Maybe the Canucks, but not really a "fan". I like just kicking back and listening to a Braves game on the radio and trying to catch up on the CFL's signings with TC opening in 2 wks or so.
I gave up baseball the LAST time they went on strike.....I am on the verge of giving up the nfl if they dont get it together. I am known as being a huge NFL fan, but enough is enough.
Everyone that finds enough time to post on a forum about the team will be back watching. It's funny seeing all these people posting about "thinking about giving up the NFL". It's like watching Intervention and believing the people will stay clean after a 30 day stint in rehab.
That sounds very much like "are you breaking up with me"? Nah, do think Grossman would be a good candidate to push Henne for the #1 job, and if he had to start he could manage to do well enough.
lol... Rex grossman is everything Jimmy Claussen aspires to be..He couldn't touch henne in a competition..
I agree, but I think we could live with Rex as our firm #2. The kid ain't afraid to air it out and when you gotta go to your #2, often you need a mindset of making things happen, not just manage the game.
This is what may force mediation to be sincere, AdamSchefter Adam Schefter Money phrase: On page 11 of today's ruling, judges wrote, "Our present view is that Judge Nelson’s interpretation is unlikely to prevail
Funny that "progress in mediation' has been Hijacked by Hennezilla! "Henezilla! Hennezilla is hijacking another topic!!!"
Myself as well. The wife and I actually also got a ticket package to the Rangers AAA club Round Rock as well, good fun!
The owners offered a new deal. Players say it is not acceptable as is but, is a starting point. Both agree to extend mediation to Tues. Players will make a counter offer. The good thing in this is that all day Monday everyone, including Schefter, saying nothing is going to happen, they are just going through the motions, etc. Then, at the end of the day, there is progress, they extend into the night, and agree to continue today.
Schefter has tweeted that Smith, Goodell and the mediator are having lunch in Minny today. Does that mean anything? Who knows?
