Free as in free. Okay, so the games are a little old, but still. Free. Expect Gamestop’s trade-in prices for those games to drop like a rock.
Free is free...they should have just thrown $50 in everyone's virtual wallet on PSN and let them pick and choose what DLC they wanted to grab. I expect people to freak out that it is not enough. I'm looking forward to what PSN Plus has to offer. This might turn out to be genius for them, lots of people might sign up and pay after the free month.
Well I've been wanting to eventually give InFamous a try and LittleBigPlanet would be nice as well. Overall I can't really complain and PS+ will be a fun novelty (clever of Sony to give users a free trial).
Have everything but SSHD and Dead Nation, so looks like I'll get those. I have Killzone on PSP. Not sure what 2 games to get of the other 3.
yeah, that's pretty sweet of sony though. Two free games (albiet old ones) is nice to get for a service that we all enjoy for free. That said I don't online game on my PS3 much so maybe I'm taking this a bit more in stride than others. I'm kinda amped. I'll be taking Little Big Planet and Wipeout I think. I played infamous and found it very boring...i know I'll get slaughtered for that, but I just didn't see much interaction from my surroundings. LBP has a ton of replay value and I just haven't dinked around with it much. The other two don't really appeal to me, and I have fond memories of wipeout from the N64 days. Guess that's the route I'll go!
I'll be picking up inFAMOUS and Little Big Planet. Was hoping for Mod Nation Racers but I guess I'll take them - they are free after all. I also think that the idea of a trial period for Playstation Plus could turn out to be a genius move for them. Heck, I thought about trying it but I didn't want to sign up and get charged without seeing the value.
What Desides said. It's pretty fun for the type of racer it is, even after all theses years. I think it looks great (I think it actually plays at 1080p), and it (along with Super Stardust) is capable of being played in 3D if that sort of thing interests you.
InFamous is one of my favorite games this generation. If you like comic books (or their story lines) it would likely cause you to like the game even more.
If you have none I'd have to say InFamous and LittleBigPlanet. Granted I know nothing about Dead Nation, but the two I suggested are great (full-fledged) games IMO.
I realized if you really wanted to you can get All 4...just create another name...btw the store still down? Sent from my DROIDX using Tapatalk
Yes, the PS Store is still down. Trust me, when it’s up, I’ll make sure the forum knows. I’ve been on top of everything from the lockout to the PSN lately. Also, Stitches is correct when he says that LittleBigPlanet and inFAMOUS are the two best PS3 games on that list. The trouble is, they’re old. If you’ve never played them, that’s fine, you’re getting great games for nothing. But LBP2 has already come out, and inFAMOUS 2 is due out on June 7. I can’t help but feel that Sony is basically liquidating back stock (LBP) and engaging in guerilla marketing (inFAMOUS, Wipeout HD) with this giveaway. Notice that games they could still make money on at retail—Resistance 2, Killzone 3, Uncharted 2, LBP2, GT5, SOCOM 4, etc—are absent from the list. Hell, they aren’t even giving away Playstation Moves. (I’d take a PS Move over anything on that list, personally.) Feels self-serving to me.
Reports that PSN passwords are being reset by hackers: This apparently only affects the password page on the PSN website, not any sort of PSN access over the PS3 or PSP.
If you had a credit card number on your PSN account, assume it was stolen and report it as such. Get a new card. And if you use BoA or IIRC Citi, you can get virtual credit cards, which are basically new CC numbers that tie to your actual card. You can manage them online, and if something like this happens, you just “cancel” the virtual card, and your real card number is still safe.
They aren't actually "clearing stock" Desides, because you aren't getting a physical disc just the download. Also, you can log in and make psn purchases from the website I believe, so you could have your password changed I believe from there and have it affect your PD3/PSP.
It’s an analogy. I know they’re not actually going to bear the cost of shipping out millions of discs. I’m just trying to illustrate a thought process.
Can we get this free stuff now? Or some time in the future. Unless I've just missed the emails, I haven't received any notification from Sony about the free stuff.
That is correct. Speaking of free stuff, though, Sony’s 1 year of free identity theft protection is live. Signup link
Dead Nation looks interesting Think I'll go for that and LBP. Have Infamous. Didn't finish it yet... heh...
I am raging that I cannot access the PlayStation store to download my goodies for L.A. Noire. Sure am glad that I went with the PS3 version over the XBOX 360 version ...
Despite the PS Store being down, the PS3 version is technically superior to the 360 version. You made the right buy.
http://www.itwire.com/your-it-news/entertainment/47591-welcome-back-the-playstation-store-reopens Playstation Store is open. However, the free games are not available yet.
Already posted about the PS Store being open. NOTHING works yet, though. I get errors every time I load a section. So while it’s superficially available, the content still isn’t back online.
