Still some top-tier talent left from Hot 100 http://www.nfl.com/news/story/09000...optier-talent-left-from-hot-100?module=HP_cp2 Who is on your wish list for day 3?
Whats up with Tandon Doss and can he fill our need for speed? Looks like he can return kicks too.
Plenty of talent still on the board. I think we go after DJ Williams or Virgil Green in round 4. I'd love to take a chance on Marcus Cannon if Pouncey is indeed going to play Center.
Some good guys left.....here ar some "tiers" which I am copying from NFL.com/news: Tier 5 Marcus Cannon, OL, TCU, 6-5, 358 Two-time All-Mountain West Conference selection. Must keep his weight down. He played tackle in college but might be best as a guard in the NFL. Ricky Stanzi, QB, Iowa, 6-4, 223 Ran a 4.89 40. Has started 35 games. Needs more upper-body strength but is athletic. Good high school basketball player in Ohio. Tier 6 Pernell McPhee (DL, Mississippi St.). Tier 7 James Brewer (OL, Indiana). Tier 8 Sam Acho (DL, Texas), Clint Boling (OL, Georgia), Kendall Hunter (RB, Oklahoma State), Da'Norris Searcy (DB, North Carolina), K.J. Wright (LB, Mississippi State). Tier 9 Jordan Cameron (TE, USC), Chris Carter (LB, Fresno State), Quinton Carter (DB, Oklahoma), Edmond Gates (WR, Abilene Christian), Brandon Hogan (DB, West Virginia). Tier 10 Tandon Doss (WR, Indiana), Ross Homan (LB, Ohio State), Casey Matthews (LB, Oregon), Colin McCarthy (LB, Miami), Jason Pinkston (OL, Pittsburgh), Luke Stocker (TE, Tennessee), Cedric Thornton (DL, Southern Arkansas).
TE: Jordan Cameron, Virgil Green, DJ Williams, Julius Thomas COP RB: Taiwan Jones, Kendall Hunter, Nic Grigsby, Quizz Rodgers, Jordan Todman, Dion Lewis. WR: Aldrick Robinson, Edmund Gates, Denarius Moore, Niles Paul, Ricardo Lockette, Cecil Shorts, Terrence Tolliver. RT: David Mims OLB: Chris Carter, Sam Acho, Greg Romeus CB: Davon House, Curtis Marsh, Brandon Burton, Buster Skrine, Cortez Allen. ILB: Mark Herzlich, Quan Sturdivant FB: Owen Marecic, Charles Clay S: DeAndre McDaniel, Robert Sands QB: Tyrod Taylor
So desperately want this guy, help both in the return game and 3rd down. Actually wanted mallett and jones but alas......
CCarter, Sam Acho, Q Davie, any small college passrusher is still on the board, the problem with the Lb corps is Q and Ike are both large and lumbering Sam's with no ST value and no Passrush ability, guys like Greg Romeus and Jabara Williams or Cheta Ozogouwo, A name to watch is also Christian Anthony from Grambling. http://www.nfldraftdog.com/2011-nfl-draft/christian-anthony.html Small college Db's such as: -Cortez Allen -Ryan Jones -Mark Legree -Jaqwan Jarret http://skinnypost.com/whats-the-skinny/nfl-draft-2011-small-school-prospects/ Brandon Fusco and David arkin and David Mims are also names to watch.
Small, stick thin, atrocious injury history, 18 career fumbles all at a tiny school level. Honestly??
The difficulty now lies with not having a 5th round pick. Since we have done nothing to address our lack of speed, I think we go either Taiwan Jones or Jaquizz Rodgers with the next pick (if either is still on the board). All reports though had indicated they really like DJ Williams, I doubt he makes it to round 6, so maybe he is next? I like Quizz more than Jones ( because of injury history).
Do not know if you clicked on the Skinnypost link but they did hyperlink to UD youtube stuff. David Mims in the 7th or Fusco in the 7th would not surprise at all.
Wishlist: DJ Williams Virgil Green Robert Sands Chimdi Chekwa Edmund Gates Noel Devine Taiwan Jones Nic Grigsby Chris Carter Julius Thomas Jacquizz Rodgers Sam Acho
i like jordan todman, think he could be a good player. these guys like to double up on a position. NEED a TE though and with sheets coming back healthy this position (TE) needs to be addressed.
Here is my list for people to consider with the 4th WR Dwyane Harris - Devonne Bess with playmaking ability QB Ricky Stanzi - Just a solid, boring QB prospect. Nothing flashy about the guy. Only QB left that could turn into solid starter though he'll never be elite OLB Mario Addison - fantastic pass rush prospect OLB Bruce Miller - another highball of energy pass rush prospect ILB Greg Jones - Could fight for the starting spot
All are falling, except Acho. Good sign. I really like our odds with this upcoming pick if we don't take QB or any linemen.
Any thoughts on Kendall Hunter? RB out of Oklahoma State? Looks like he could be a CoP back and possible punt returner... Not that I know much about draft-day shenanigans...
I like the Edmund Gates pick better than Thomas (mainly because of his injury-bad memories of Odrick and RBrown). Gates has a lot of upside if he can learn the system, think he'll be our kick returner from Day 1? I suppose he could be the 4th WR as well from day 1 maybe.
18 fumbles yes, but 8.5 yrd/cry ave. 1800 + yards last year. MVP of his division at 6' 200lbs (not too small). To me he seems like a great later round try to ret kicks and 3rd down back. Fumbles can be fixed and like Thomas only been a RB few yrs so room to grow. He is a Reggie Bush like character from a small school with a much smaller price tag. Did i mention he ran a 4.3 forty??
Well there goes Jones to the Raiders...damn. Not for nothin but Jones is bigger than E Gates. Size should not be his issue.
well now that we are down to our last three picks, these are the guys I'm hoping we get RB Jordan Todman, Connecticut RB Da'Rell Scott, Maryland WR Dwayne Harris, East Carolina WR Owen Spencer, NC State TE Virgil Green, Nevada OG Byron Bell, New Mexico DT Cedric Thornton, Southern Arkansas OLB Bruce Miller, UCF OLB Mario Addison, Troy ILB Greg Jones, Michigan State SS Jerron Johnson, Boise State Granted a few of these guys are positions we dont really need but at this stage I just believe you go BPA. The guys in bold are the guys I am really rooting for
