I'm really pissed they didn't trade up for Greg Little. ;) But it's all good, I'm going to have to get used to Thomas. I can't do anything about it. So I'm going to sleep on it. If they suck, this regime's gone and then it's on to the next one, it's all good.

Little? you had to go there didn't you?! Thanks.

Good point.... if they suck, then they are gone. These picks arent flashy, but I dont see how we wont be improved because of them. Pass protection, run blocking, and our carriers of the ball have just been improved.

Long, Carpenter & Starks have all been to the Pro Bowl. Fields, Soliai, Davis, Smith, Dansby, Marshall & Langford all have a decent chance to go this year. The team we had in 07 was old and bereft of talent. Now, we have a young nucleus of players that will allow us to compete for years to come. I'm sorry that they weren't able to do it on your personal time table.

man I died a slwo death when Williams & Little went off the board. If we'd have traded down we could have gotten both, and then a LG in the 3rd. Meh.

Ill stop being a douche when you stop being a self righteous douche thinking you are better and smarter than everyone else here.

I don't like taking guards in round 1, but in the end I am ok with Pouncey. I think he will be a gamer at least. We were definitely in a hard place due to our draft spot.

I don't like Thomas at all though, and until he proves me wrong I will continue to dislike the pick. If you hate me for that, I promise not to sleep at night.

that's because we couldn't run the ball. I'd think you'd be excited to see come true what you were excited about last year. lol.

Now that we'll be able to run, you'll see more big plays to Brandon, and you'll see Henne take his next step. Chad was very good when our ground game was strong and when not being forced into tons of drive killing 3rd and longs.

Read the post again, talking about the draft from the current FO here not free agents or those selected by others. I'm sorry you didn't catch that the first time.

Tex, I feel ya regarding the whole losing hope thing.... but if there's a time to start becoming optimistic, it's actually now believe it or not. If we can nab out TE and COP back..... and then pick up 1 or 2 nice players in FA, we're making MASSIVE strides.... but we're not making any strides if we don't nail down the Oline and bring in a decent back. That's where it all starts this year.

Now that we've addressed that, we can move forward however we want b/c our hand was somewhat forced with the first 2 picks without having a 2nd rounder.

Like I said, I will be happy to be wrong! I do think Pouncey at least will help some. Not a fan of taking his position so early when we have so many needs, but as I said in another post, we were in a bad spot. I just don't like Thomas.

So when we start winning, then you'll support the team? But while we're struggling, you're going to bad mouth the team? Oooook.

A big physical back who has only been a RB for 2 years (was a qb before that). Which means his upright style and fumbling issues etc can still be coached. Kid has a lot of room for growth. The team just needs to match him with a nice change of pace type back.

LMAO. So only "draft picks" count? Who do you think decides which FAs we sign? Ever heard of the "Player Personnel Dept? Google Brian Gaine, that might help. The only player on the list who was already on the team in 07 is Soliai, if you don't want to give the staff credit for his development, that's your choice. But player acquisition is player acquisition, regardless of method.

I'm not a homer, therefore I am not a fan. Oooooooook.

I didn't realize that expressing any kind of frustration or disappoint suddenly means you are incapable of supporting something as well. I didn't realize I need to blindly cheer my face off for every last thing the Miami Dolphins do or I am not a fan.

I guess Sony supporters can't express frustration and disappointment over having their credit card info stolen without suddenly becoming microsoft fanbois in the process? When I start talking a man crush on Brady you can criticize me for not be a fan.

Seriously, are you Killerphins alt or something?

I liked Thomas quite a bit. And I think that Pouncey will play C and get our offense back to the production we had when Grove was healthy. As I look around the other reviews, I've been pleased to see that the experts all seem to love the Thomas pick. The grades from the media seem to be all A's so far for both picks.

Good chance they sign Gallery by the way to play LG with Pouncey at C and Incognito at RG. Now that's a line for Thomas to run behind.

Yeah I was talking about draft picks since that seems to be the topic of the thread. We can debate FA probowlers vs FA busts from this team somewhere else. You also mentioned earlier that that opinions should be semi-educated so I looked into our current draft history and can see why some people are apprehensive about our current picks.

Seriously, you haven't watched a single K State game and you're talking about how you don't like the pick. I doubt you saw much of Pouncey either. So it's a little silly to bash these guys when you dont know much about them. If you could articulate specific things about them tat caused you to feel like they were a bad fit then OK, you're just being a fan. But what you're doing is more like hating, on your own team.

Oh jesus. I guess trying to express an opinion now means that I have never seen either player play? THAT is a leap of logic right there. I have seen both play. I have not watched every game every one has ever played, but then I also do not get paid to do that either. I guess that means I am not allowed to have an opinion. Or that I am automatically wrong. Or that I am not a fan.

Whatever Killers alt, I am sure you won't miss me ignoring you.

I share the same sentiments about taking a guard that early...... but on the bright side, he's an outstanding pulling guard which gives him more value IMO. Having no one capable of pulling last year really hurt us.

Imagine if we grab Harvey Dahl to play LG, Pouncey at C, and Incognito at RG where he belongs. Something could be up if we're playing Pouncey at C.

I think he is going to play center, or at be tried there first. That is what I have heard at any rate. Not sure how I feel about that. C is generally more important than guard, but by the same token, he struggles with shotgun snapping and playing him at center reduces his role as a puller.

Our franchise was already destroyed, what the hell were you watching before ireland and sparano showed up lol

One other thing, can someone define for me what it means to not be safe in the draft? Does it mean moving up? Moving down? Taking a chance on a player who has behavioral issues? Speedballing while you juggle chainsaws what is it?

I hoping Jerry can get it done, he moves well enough, but he misses to many assignments and his technique/stamina need to improve. Then we can use that extra cash on another skill guy. We have a gunslinger, I wanna send him into battle with an AK & an extended mag, not that friggin six shooter he had last year.

Don't need much more than a speed WR, a COP back, and a H-Back. That RG being Incognito rather than Jerry is a much bigger difference.

    That line is outright impressive.

I agree. I'd much rather see him pulling, too, with mean Richie blowing guys off the ball, especially with our division running a 3-4..... and half the league following.

I'm hoping on Jerry, too, but then what the heck do we do with Richie or who do we play at LG? Agree about the cash for a skill guy, buddy.

Yeah but we only have a 4-6-7-7 left. Sounds like we'll be shopping in FA. The WR group is impressive, but the only COP back is Bradshaw & he'll want starter money. Leon Washington is possible, but he's not a guy who can carry the load if the starter is injured. D Will is gonna cost a grip also. But hey, if Sparano wants to rely on the running game, might as well have a stud back to help him do it.

Im hoping Jerry can move to LG, he moves better than Richie. And we move Richie to RG, his natural spot. We actually started Jerry at LG in TC last year but I'm guessing the coaches saw he couldn't handle it pretty quick and switched him back. Of course we could go Pouncey-Incognito-Jerry but IMO they want Pouncey at center to be option 1.

    WR- Aldrick Robinson (vertical threat)
TE- Jordan Cameron, Virgil Green, DJ Williams, Julius Thomas
COP- Taiwan Jones, Kendall Hunter, Nic Grigsby, Quizz Rodgers, Jordan Todman, Dion Lewis.

I like our chances of getting at least 2 of these...... 3 if we trade a pick. That would be an outstanding draft for us. you think?

LOL. Still not a single syllable about WHY you don't like this or that guy. You've passed on giving an educated opinion more times than the Bills-Cards-Skins-Fins passed on Mallett. You're pretty good with the strawmen and sarcasm though.

Whats funny is people mad that the Pats took Mallett, who's going to do NOTHING for them until Brady is gone, at least. I'm glad they took him and not a pass rusher or a speedy WR, or a replacement for Makins and/or Neal. Solder and Wake should have some good battles this year, b/c Cam killed Kaczur last year.
