“I don’t see Chad Henne being a big-time quarterback,” Kiper said.

Kiper believes Henne’s long delivery and lack of mobility caused inconsistency and inaccuracy.

Kiper also said the Dolphins reached on the selection of Hampton DE Kendall Langford with the No. 66 pick. But Kiper understands why.

Langford, at 6-5, 294, has the size needed to play in a 3-4 defense.

“No one would have taken him that high I don’t think except a 3-4 team that wanted a big body that can occupy (blockers),” Kiper said.

But Kiper didn’t think the Dolphins’ draft was a disaster by any means. One draft isn’t going to turn around a team in the shape of the Dolphins, he said.

Screw Kiper lol I take Ireland's and BP's evaluations and analysis over his anyday. Ireland and BP are in the front office and Kiper is not, enough said :D.

For once I agree with Kiper. Not to mention Henne just can't function without a HUGE cushion provided by the OL. On a lot of his highlights there's got to be at least 6-7 feet between him and a defender. He won't be getting those in the pros.

He's trying to knock our draft because we took a qb and it wasn't Ryan. Someone needs to explain to this moron that Ryan wouldn't be very successul here if he was on his *** from our lack of an OL.

I can see what he is getting at, we had needs at WR and CB's and there were some good ones on the board. I'm not a big fan of Henne (Although I liked him more than Ryan), but I can't get to upset by the pick.

:sidelol: lol O man. Merryl Hodge just had our back big time. He got into it with Kiper after he said that us taking Henne was saying that Beck wasnt our guy. Merryl went at him and asked him if he thought it was important to have competition at QB and he said no. lol Merryl Hodge  Big Up Yourself.

mel kipers opinion means **** to me go look at some of his mocks in the past and see how little he actually got right

here is what mel kiper had to say about ryan leaf

Leaf is the type who can single-handedly put a team in the win column, which at the pro level is the ultimate sign of greatness

I dint like Mel Kiper Jr as much as I did I like Mick Mayock a lot because it seems like he knows alot more about the player and he siad that Chad Henne was a great pick up for us and He liked the player we drafted a lot

I don't have a huge problem with Mel's analysis of Henne. I don't necessarily agree with it, but he has earned the right to have his opinion.

What is ridiculous about it to me is that he has been applauding Baltimore trading up to 18 and taking Joe Flacco there every chance he gets, when Flacco is on an even keel with Henne (at best) as a prospect, in my opinion. Even if he doesn't personally like Henne as a player, he can't deny the value in taking him where Miami did, more than a full round after Flacco and without having to trade anything.

I disagree with Kiper about Henne, but I do agree that it would have been better to take Ryan.

Funny because Mayock and the NFLN guys were raving about the picks. One guy even picked Langford as the second day defensive guy who would have the biggest impact

Couldnt have said ANY of it better.

First, I can NOT stand Mel Kiper. God I got really tired of that over-animated cartoon-figure polluting my TV yesterday.
Anybody want to bet he got into the draft thing so heavy cause he got tired of being beat up at school, so he hid in a basement and had to study something...anything

Second, I really liked Henne last year, but after watching a handfull of games this year, I think he is gonna have a tough time at this level. He has a great head, and relatively strong arm, but is lacking with true Physical talent IMO

And Kiper also thinks the Dolphins should have drafted B Quinn!
    He is an egotistical moron!

Just one of the many reasons that I personally do not watch ESPN or qualify their views as important!

Well if you watched the draft this weekend you could say that mel kiper is wrong. The guy gets nothing right and rather than taking a stance he stands in the middle so he doesn't look bah. Mike Mayock owns Kiper, Kiper sucks

This is all i will say on the subject..........
look at Dan Marino and his scouting report out of college...mobility? Accurate? Tough senior year right?
Brettv Favre.......back up in Atlanta? Steve Young.......Tampa?

    Eli Manning........super bowl QB.....play maker?

    Ryan Leaf....Kiper LOVED him.

The QB spot is tough to get right, but the biggest factor is TOUGHNESS and LEADERSHIP. Henne has both and the rest we will find out.
