Getting ready for a QB who can stand in an established pocket, well protected arm who can see the field, step into a throw and has all the tangible skills? Gee that sounds a bit like a big kid from the south! Of course it also sounds like Henne and Palmer in terms of scrambling ability. Thoughts?

If the Dolphins get some good run and pass blocking (and with Henning gone) Henne will be fine.

They wanted Locker and Ponder so that tells you what they want in a quarterback. I could see them taking Yates though today. Could develop into Pennington with an average arm.

Everyone keeps saying how taking a second round QB would just be another Henne. I dont remeber Henne getting anywhere near the hype Mallett has. I understand hype means nothing more than a fair number of people believe he can be special. between that perspective from "experts" and the "tangible" assets he has it seems he would be a huge improvement eventually....they better get tradin!

You're missing something though. The quarterback they seem to want has mobility, is a leader, and has decent height at the least. Mallet does not have mobility. The reason they're so high on Kaepernick (they may very well trade for him) is part of that.

Where did you hear they were so high on Ponder and Kaepernick? I have heard that, but also heard they are in love with Mallett and his pure passing ability. If they loved mobility (after Pat White) why would they draft Henne? Just dont know how important mobility is to them.

Do you really like Langford, or really dislike Mallett?

Merling maybe? We have an abundance of DE presence and certainly a QB need.

Henne is no different now than he was at Michigan. He is a strong armed QB who can't hit the deep pass consistently and he doesn't read defenses quickly enough. He was an average player in college and he is a below average QB in the NFL. I don't care who is coaching Henne. He is not a starting caliber QB in the NFL and I have no doubt that he will be sitting on the bench before the Dolphins are only a few weeks into the season in 2011. He is only the starter right now by default. Once the Dolphins are able to sign a veteran QB. Henne will be headed to the bench this season and will be headed for another team in 2012.
