I know I can take a taxi easily enough to the stadium, but what about after the game? How tough is it to get a cab after the game? Are there other transportation options for someone who will not have a car? Not interested in a limo and not interested in staying at a hotel near the stadium -- just looking for good options to get back to South Beach.

    Thanks.

Find a drunk guy and ride on his back.

No seriously, there are cabs I am sure, but plan ahead of time and have them ready to pick you up infront of the gate you are sitting. Thats probably the only option, I havent seen a horse and carriage around Sunlife after a game

No. I have no arms, no license and expect to be heavily intoxicated after the game. I think a cab, train or subway service is my best bet. I also have a phobia related to buses so that option is out.

Would love to hear from someone who has done the cab thing after a Phins game. How tough is it to get one?

You might want to call the Miami Dolphins offices and discuss with them your special needs. My guess is they have a hospitality service team that can help make the accommodations for you and ensure you have a great time.

I was kidding....We really just don't want to deal with the hassle of driving, especially if we have a few drinks in us.

I knew there was no subway, but thought there might be a train....I guess I am spoiled by all the great public transportation options at the stadiums in the Northeast.

Well I guess in South Florida we are spoiled having 70+ degree weather all year, no snow, no ice, and no below freezing temperatures :wink2:

I have nothing positive to say about Florida, so I'm right on board with you there. The public transportation sucks.

You should be able to get a taxi no problem, though. Just make sure you have more than one number handy in case one of them decides not to pick you up. I wouldn't recommend Diamond Cab or Yellow Cab as they both bailed on me (despite waiting an hour and speaking on the phone numerous times with their dispatchers in Bombay). I ended up getting Coral Gables Taxi which got me 5 minutes after I called, but I doubt they'd want to go to Miami Gardens... Just don't get Yellow or Diamond, that's all I can say.

I have a new thought on this. I am going to look for an ad for a package deal (flight, hotel, game tix, etc.). These trips usually include transportation to/from the game. Assuming the group's hotel is on SoBe, maybe we can buy our way into their bus (2 of us). My bus phobia is only for public buses, not charters. BTW, the game I have in mind is the Eagles game in December....Clock is ticking. If any of you know of a company that runs a lot of trips, please let me know......Hey wait, I once heard of a thing called GOOGLE, maybe that can help my cause!!!

You can get a good package deal that includes a car. Other than that you have no real options. It's a cab or hitchike...

Don't follow you here? What kind of package includes a car? Do you mean a "car service" (w/ a driver)? I already said that I am not interested in driving.

I believe some of the sports bars down there run buses to the game. That would be an option. You could then get a cab from the bar to your hotel.

Here is an example. Use priceline.com and search package deals. Do a search of your city airport to mia and when the packages come up look on the right near the bottom and you will see an option to add a car.

Or google vacation package deals with airfare, hotel and car included.

If you insist on not driving you will need to take a cab to and from the stadium. Unless you call a few of the bigger hotels and ask them if they provide transportation to Dolphins games.

Don't know how else to say it, driving is not an option. Thought I was clear on that. Would not go to the game before I drove.

So far, the way I see it, I can either do a limo/car service, cab (and hope I can get one home) or find a group staying in SoBe that has a bus chartered and jump in with them....

    Live from the Internet.
There are plenty of cabs outside the stadium after the game.

When I went there for a game, I also stayed on south beach. They actually have a bus service that drives right from south beach to the stadium on gamedays. It also drops you off after the game. I have used it 3 times and I have saved a on what a cab would cost.

if there is a bus/shuttle - obvioulsy that's best/cheapest. Otherwise you can try

    www.redlimo.com

they do one way trips around town in white luxury cars like Escalade, Merc, BMW etc. (i have no idea why they are called red limo and all their cars are white ... not very consistent on the branding)

There are hundreds. literally hundreds of car services in and around the area. About 50 to the game and another 50 to pick you up after the game. Faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaar better then a cab, little more expensive but faaaaaaaaaaaaar better then any cab you can find down there.
