I normally have a 1st round pick I lock into early, and stick with. There was Long, Davis, and Kindle in the past three drafts. This year, it was Ingram as a "perfect fit." Now, I have my doubts, because of the knee, on him as well as every other possible pick. A closer look.

Ingram had everything I was looking for to greatly help our team. Then, the knee.

Then, I look at the OL. Pouncey is good but, not worth the pick. No one sees him playing C, and I do like Incognito and Jerry as much at G.

Next is QB. Newton and Gabbert are gone but, Im not high on either. Ponder and Dalton are West Coast O guys, and not a good fit. I don't care for either anyway. Then there is Mallet. Big guy, very strong arm, but, is not very good in making decisions, and throws too many ints under pressure. Let's not forget Colin Kaepernick. NO QB, with that kind of name, ever made it in the NFL. Over, Done, Next. :)

Now, we are past need, and maybe looking for the BPA.

We got a lot of talent at OT in the draft but, none better than Carey for now, and moving one inside is doubtful. I can't see any one of them better than Carey.

Time to look to the D. We were VG but, could use an upgrade or two. Smith, if available, would be a help at OLB but, Nolan has said that Misi will fill that need. I may argue with any coach but, after last year, not with Nolan.

A Prince "may" fall to us at CB but, can't see him finding a place to play.

All in all, this is a Very Confusing Draft.

I still think it's gonna be Ingram.....just not at 15.
Here's my theroy. The Dolphins are the ones leaking rumors about Ingrams knee. They move down 7-10 spots in the first, pick up that coveted 2nd rounder and draft Ingram somewhere in the early to mid-20's.

Rumors about medical stuff dont seem like they would be very effective. Pretty much everyone has access to the same data. Either your team doctor thinks it is an issue or he doesn't. Character stuff is different. Thats where the tomfoolery goes on.

I see the first round coming down to Ingram or Mallet/Ponder, with Ingram being the safest, and the QBs having the most upside and bust potential. It's going to depend on what they think of Henne. If he has no chance to be the guy, or even less than one of the rookies, you have to go QB. If he just needs a little help, Ingram or trade down.

I guess if they pick a Quarterback it will show how much confidence they have in Henne. They have shown the most or at least a lot of interest in Mallett. I am just wondering if that is a smokescreen to get a trade down partner. I know there is a lot being said that Seattle wants Mallett and that could be a possibility.

If Ireland takes one of these middle tier QB's at #15 he should have his head examined.

On the other hand, it is nice not to have such glaring needs everywhere that a draft is a little confusing.

I believe Ireland has shown a tendency to go with the 'safe' pick in round 1, which I believe is the smartest thing to do. And you go for boom-or-bust types later on in the draft.

As for 'safe', I think that Ingram still fits the bill. But I have a hard time believing a Parcells discipline would take a RB that high. Later in the first maybe, but not at 15. They take such a pounding and have such short careers.

So the remainder of the 'safe' picks at 15 are offensive linemen (Tyron Smith, Anthony Castonzo, Gabe Carimi, and Pouncey) or maybe defensive linemen (Cameron Jordan, JJ Watt maybe, Fairley may be dropping).

Is Dolphin nation ready for a RT at 15? Or another DE?

The only non-safe thing they gamble on might be an electric wide receiver, so possibly Julio Jones.

Otherwise it's the safe pick or a trade down for more of a gamble. My wild card guesses? Either a RB, Stephen Paea at NT, or Akeem Ayers inside in our 3-4

The biggest issue regarding Henne isn't his performance but his contract status. If Henne plays poorly and isn't re-signed, then who is there to replace him? If he performs well, do you want to commit a franchise or transition tag on him? The decision is easy if he bombs or plays at an MVP level but what he simply plays adequately?

Having said that, just watching Pouncey on Path to the Draft. He sure looks good.

    trade down, take Hankerson...

    If no trade, take O-lineman.

GOD I DONT WANT O-LINE!!!! I either want RB or QB. I want to know if they think Henne can hack it or not, if not QB, if so RB. The only other options I would accept is that some like J. Jones falls down to us, or we take a really really good ILB to replace Channing.

The one thing I am absolutely certain of is that we will not take a QB with the #1.
