Ditto R&R. I've had him pegged in the 2nd round for us after trading back (on my wish list at least), or 3rd if we cant, but not sure if he lasts that long.

We met with him once and have a workout coming up. He and Virgil Green are 2 guys I want for our offense.

I'd really like that draft man, just put Cortez Allen in place of Tonga and I'd be set!

    thanks Ronin.
You think Cortez will last till FA?

My dream scenario would be to trade back twice and end up with:
    2. RB- Mikel LeShoure
    2. RB- Taiwan Jones
    3. OLB- Chris Carter
    3. WR- Greg Little
    4. TE- Virgil Green
    5. CB- Buster Scrine/Cortez Allen
    6. RT- David Mims
    ---and Harvey Dahl in FA.

That has to be the ugliest football field I have ever seen ... and that includes the Fins epic playoff game against the Jets dubbed the "Mud Bowl"

I agree. This whole camouflage advantage crap is getting out of hand. lol. I'd hate to be an Eastern Washington fan, besides for the other reasons.

PS: apologies to any EWU fans.

............. for being subjected to that field.

I think Cortez is one of those guys that might last until free agency, but I think some teams would take a flier on him. He's played CB and some teams think he might be able to play S, so I think if one team falls in love with him, so to speak, then he might come off the board in late 5th or early 6th...just my two cents.

Not a bad dream scenario and knowing Miami and how they like to do things it's very possible and honestly not the worst mix of players either.

Charlie Casserly did a little piece on Jones on last night's PTTD on the NFLN. He had some concerns with regard to the foot injury, as well as simply from a physical standpoint (meaning can he hold up to the pounding at the NFL level). But, he qualified that by saying he had the same concerns about Warrick Dunn when he came out, and and look at how well he did. He ended up suggesting he should do fine in the NFL. Anyway, he said he was high on him. Maybe if we could get him in the third or fourth round?

Question for Todd...if we get him, is he the answer to our return game (in addition to what I assume would be a change a pace guy)?

Yes, he seriously upgrades our return game in a similar fashion to DeSean Jackson IMO...... and he represents the electricity from a COP back standpoint that our offense & Henne could DESPERATELY use. Taiwan and Marshall would feed well off each other (high-low stretch plays with these 2 would be awesome IMO, with Brandon drawing the coverage and blocking downfield). I'm thinking about a posse package that includes Marshall at X, Hartline at W, Vergil Green at Y, and Mike Sims Walker at Z....... with these guys stretching the field while isolating Taiwan on a LB with room to run, or even going empty backfield with them.

I would be worried about his injury potential if we're asking him to carry the load and pick up the tough yardage, but if we can keep his touches down to situations that fit his sill set (maybe 10-15 touches per game, including passes), then I think we could keep him off IR, especially considering how uncanny his ability is to slip off defenders and avoid the big hit.

With Chris Johnson & Jamaal Charles's success, it wouldn't surprise me if he were gone before our 3rd round pick.

    17.

That's Taiwan's fumble count in college.

You think Miami's drafting him in round 2? You must be MENTAL.

You think Miami's drafting a kid who fumbled 17 times in college?

Look out for a Shane Vereen or more likely Jacquizz Rogers.

We wouldn't be asking him to carry the load or pick up the tough inside yards, so I don't see how the fumbles would be as much of an issue. Not to mention, he's almost 20 lbs heavier than he was during all those fumbles. I would think there's some increased strength thrown in there some where.

i wouldnt spend a 2nd on him BUT players can be coached to not fumble (tiki barber).. you cant coach his speed and he plays just as fast as his 40 time

Dude, he's stick thin, injury prone, played at a tiny school and fumbled 17 times in a single season. How do you think that will shake down in the NFL against real defenders?

Hey, go right ahead and draft him. But make sure you're wife hasn't maxed out her credit card because your're going to need money after you get fired for making that pick.

yes, but how many of those times were TRULY his fault? There's this thing called coincidence ya know.

Seriously, he wont be facing those same teams anymore, so what's the problem?

I'm just curious if there's a look on your face right now.

All jokes aside....... a fumble 45 yards downfield can be as good as a punt, and considering our special teams, that could be looked at as a plus. Just sayin.

Is Jones projected 2nd round now? Last I saw (a few days ago), he was a 4th-5th round prospect. Either way, that would be a solid draft. Although, I'd take Ryan Williams over LeShoure.

Boomer might disagree (which is ok) but I thought Taiwan assured himself as a 3rd round pick, with a team possibly jumping the gun in the late 2nd since there are few explosive playmakers this draft.

IMO the fumbles will be reduced when he's not carrying the ball 20 times a game as the primary back. I'd like to know how many of his fumbles came running between the tackles.

Taiwan met with us yesterday, so I guess we're at least intrigued. He's had or will have meetings with the Cards, Eagles, Chiefs, Panthers, and shockingly the Raiders.
