    Scouting Report
    Overview

Mulligan played one season at tight end for coach Gabby Price at Husson College in Bangor, ME after attending a small central Maine high school which had no football program. Then he transferred to UMaine, walked on, and made quite an impression in his 2 years at UMO. Made 13 receptions for 300 yards and three touchdowns during that season at Husson. Matt also played basketball at Husson. He played four years of basketball, two years of soccer, and one year each in baseball, tennis and track & field and was an honorable mention all-state in both basketball and soccer. Matt was a two-time MVP in basketball and was the co-MVP of his soccer team during his senior season. Topped off his college career by being a late invitee to the 2nd annual Texas v. The Nation Game in El Paso on February 1st. Had a very impressive week of practice and a fine performance in the game as well.
    Strengths

Massive frame. Gifted athlete who is just beginning to really figure the game of football out after not playing at all in high school. Excellent blocker. May be one of the top 5 blocking TEs coming out this year. Has decent hands as well.
    Weaknesses

Inexperience. Lack of production. Level of competition. Technique needs some refining. Not a seam stretcher.
    Projection

    Priority UDFA

The biggest surprise for me is that nobody has yet to pick up Vince Hall, LB, Va Tech. I was even surprised to not see him drafted. But, not to even sign anywhere as a UDFA is mind boggling to me. I know he doesn't have prototypical size, but the guy can play. I hope Parcells/Ireland give him a call.

Thats enough for Tuna and Co. to not give him a call.

This is the Texas Wolverines of Miami now. We don't do things that aren't by the book.

Big doesn't cover it - he had 34 reps at the combine. Big guy, strong guy. Little on the slow side, but I'm thinking they go to convert him to OL.

Judging from the picks, I think you're right. It still surprises me though that nobody has signed him.

I agree. He might not be the biggest but the boy can play. Hes very instinctive. I wish we picked him up but not gonna happen. There was talk he would be moved to safety but he ran a 4.6 I heard. Wonder if he would be good in a C2 defense.
