• Even after privately working out TCU quarterback Andy Dalton last month, the Dolphins want to see more and last week called to arrange a meeting Sunday in Fort Worth. Mel Kiper projects him going early in the second round. … Even with offense the priority, the Dolphins have been booking private sessions with several first-round defensive players, such as Missouri end Aldon Smith, Temple tackle Muhammad Wilkerson and Illinois tackle Corey Liuget. For good reason. Imo has to be offense- QB, OL, RB, speed WR. Of course if we pick up D'Angelo Williams that takes care of RB and that would be my choice- by a country mile- over spending a 1st on Mark Ingram. Williams is the real deal.
Hey, if we can't trade back, Pouncey & Julio are gone, and we don't feel safe with Ingram, then there's not much left besides Dline. Get out your torches and spiked clubs now.
You mean you'd be pissed off with an excellent SOLB prospect that can drop into coverage, allow Misi to come in as a super reserve and take this defense to another level instead of the possibility of a non-Adrian Peterson like RB? Remember something about Miami. They draft franchise players with their first round picks. Always. Aldon Smith could certainly be the pick and no one should be up in arms about that as long as they add a RB in FA and fix the guards spots. Speed WRs, COP backs (make TP horny), and receiving TEs aren't positions that you spend first rond picks on. Let's not even joke about the idea of a good guard prospect versus a very good OLB prospect in Pouncey vs. Smith. It's not what Miami fans want, but take advantage of the draft, don't become a need based organization. - speed WR - LG - RB Those are not first round needs traditionally and for good reason. This organization drafts very well on the line. Let them continue to draft well where it matters to them and fix those other positions as best they can. If they feel strongly about Smith let them take him. A 3-4 DE though would be pushing it.
I think the Dolphins ultimate stategy is to trade out of the 15th pick - the defensive linemen are probably where the value would be on the board when the Dolphins pick. If the Dolphins show some interest there, may make it easier to trade out of the pick. I think they'd like to drop back 5-6 picks and still get one of the offensive linemen.
Any position on the field I would be fine with besides LE RE DT...I have no issue with a rush LB, CB, or WR. Id perfer OL or Mallet but BPA is ok too(as long as it ISN'T A DL) Sent from my PC36100 using Tapatalk
I would be pissed that we pissed away a second rounder on Misi last year. You don't draft reserves in round 2, not when that reserve and a guy who barely saw the field were the guys you chose instead of Earl Thomas.
I'd probably take Ponder, but my second choice would be Pouncey to be honest. Him and Long together would be a very good left side of the line.
I'd take Ponder as well. But as a plan B Carimi would be fine with me. Ideally a 1st rd trade down picking up a 2nd- Ponder late 1st and then maybe a Wisniewski or Danny Watkins in the 2nd. That and D'Angelo Williams in FA. I still like John Clay. Also Mario Harvey and I'm very curious as to how late Mark Herzlich will be available.
