http://www.comingsoon.net/news/movienews.php?id=53203 Much of the debate that I've seen on IMDB centers on which Lantern will be featured. I grew up with Hal Jordan, so I'm hoping he's it, but I can abide John Stewart.
They need to add wings to probably every mental hospital the way it's going. What they're doing to JLA is horrible.
I haven't read a comic in about 10 years or so. The last one that I remember was Kyle Rayner?? There was way to much hostility towards him from the fanboys. What's going on in JLA? Do you have time to give me a quick update?
There's a movie that's been on and off. The thing is that they've completely miscast according to many, myself included. The casting is still listed as rumored, but there's been much substantiation. I was excited and now I hope that it just falls through and they get a different director. Take a look: Superman: DJ Cortona Batman: Armie Hammer Wonder Woman: Megan Gale Flash: Adam Brody Aquaman: Santiago Cabrera Green Lantern: Common Martian Manhunter: Hugh Keays-Byrne The only one that makes any sense is Megan Gale and even that's a stretch.
IMDB has updated their page. They're projecting a December 2010 release. Chris Pine is rumored to be Hal Jordan. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1133985/
This is an awesome fan-made trailer. Probably the best one I've seen. [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_hTiRnqnvDs"]YouTube - Green Lantern Trailer[/ame] GL was never one of my favorites, but if the actual movie is as good as this trailer then it should be awesome!
I just saw that someone on IMDB suggested John Goodman for Killowog and that seems like a pretty good choice.
Someone else has mentioned Brad Garrett which would also be pretty good. No need to have stand on a box.
Big news. They've cast Hal. Are you ready for this. I wasn't Ryan Reynolds. http://www.superherohype.com/news/greenlanternnews.php?id=8499&offset=100
More news: Jeff Goldblum as Sinestro. That should be interesting Verne Troyer as Kilowog. Um, huh? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Green_Lantern_(film)
New trailer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k2XoEgjpM8I&feature=player_embedded Looks really awesome!
Still remains to be seen how this latest "WTF?!" choice in lead actors for a superhero movie turns out, but it can't possibly be as big a turd as the nearly direct-to-disc Green Hornet.
I refuse to see it. Seth Rogen is just wrong as the Green Hornet. There have to be a lot of actors out there who remind one of Van Williams.
Rogen was a horrible choice, the kind that happens when people with money but no sense of the industry get to make casting decisions. The direction of the film into camp is also responsible for its suckage. Green Hornet, despite a loyal following, was always at best a marginal player in the SH field. To saddle the character with a poor casting choice and then move the feel of the film closer to the Batman TV series than Chris Nolan's current film take on that character was further ill-advised. The thing is, it could have GREAT with the right feel and good casting. That said, I've liked Ryan Reynolds for a long time and I think he'll be terrific in the Green Lantern role. He may have been a choice that seemed odd to begin with, but it might just be his star vehicle and the start of a nice series of films for the GL character.
Newest trailer. Man, this is awesome! http://www.superherohype.com/news/articles/167353-new-green-lantern-trailer
