By the way, if a team turns in their pick before their hour is up, can the next team immediately turn in their pick before their hour begins?
I think newton would have slid to #6, bengals and cards dont need a QB. And i agree he gave up pretty much his whole draft to move up 7 spots. But if he thinks feels he needed newton that its worth it for him, but fins got quite a haul
Yup, but no one is punished for taking more than an hour, so long as they have their pick in by their predefined deadline.
Hmm, SOB. no, I had like 12 picks, and 3 1sts to boot recently. I still now have 9 picks and 4 in the first 3 rounds. I did a lot of the work I needed *coughOLcough* in FA, so I didn't need so many picks. I was open about needing a S and a LB, and while this class had nice players later, I was perfectly inclined to use my early picks in trades.
Seahawks got a guy with a HUGE ceiling, he was the guy they wanted and they were aggresive in landing him. Also that deal is not all that far off of the vaunted "Draft Value Chart" people like to point too. If Newton is as good as he can be he was well worth what he gave up.
Not to mention teams wont be overlooking the Bills as of NOW... also the damage he could do with the rest of his picks?
Agreed. Actually I think that the Seahawks could have done a little bit better in terms of their strategy, mainly for the reasons pointed out above. There's no way that you were going to draft Newton after drafting Gabbert, so if I was in that position I probably would have stuck you with the pick, and then if I was nervous looked at offering less at the #4 or #5 or #6 spot. Though hats off to you for flipping Dansby and Bell for essentially another draft ... I probably wouldn't have done it because I value the leadership they bring on defense. But still you should be able to replace them ... emphasis on should. Two QBs in the Top 3 means that this is going to be QB heavy first round (which is unusual for the GM League).
Didn't the give Jeremy Shockey a 96 or something recently? I dunno, I haven't played Madden in a few years.
Losing Dansby wasnt ideal and I wouldnt have done it IF I didnt have the other deal in place...I really have never cared for Bell ecspecially in coverage. Section urging me to nab Nick Barnett allowed me to make the deal, he can step in and play SILB right away as Misi will move over. Also I was happy to get some depth back in Andra Davis who has always been solid at the position. 3 teams got what they wanted so win-win-win....
See, I think Bell can't tackle but is not shabby at all in coverage. In the end, everyone is satisfied with the outcome though.
The teams involved are, and thats what matters...for the record Bell is a very solid player thats why he didnt get moved all year.
Definitely a need, but how is he a luxury? Just curious about the reasoning there, not taking offense or exception to the description.
U got the bpa imo who was also a need...sorry next time ill just spit negativety at ya Sent from my PC36100 using Tapatalk
