All the team has to do is win and the fans will come in flocks!! Same as almost every single team in the NFL.

I'm sorry but your words against Sparano will have little to do with him being fired. His record next year will do that.

You're getting bent out of shape is nothing that you nor any fan can do anything about..

You might be making a mountain out of a mole hill. Have you seen the Giants offense? There's a potential happy median to where Fasano gets his smash-mouth offense while Ross gets the excitement he wants to draw the fans and get the stadium pumpin. After all, it's not like we wouldn't be passing "at all". We just need a few more playmakers who can do things with the ball in their hand while providing a better deep threat when we do attempt to stretch the field.

Plus, a better ground game means a better passing game....... and more frequent big plays in the passing game.

I don't see how you can say that either. How many better hauls over the past 3 drafts can you name than Jake Long, Davone Bess, Brian Hartline, and Chad Henne? If you can do more than 10, I'll give you mediocre at best which according to you is charitable.

    Ding ding ding !!!

I damn sure hope they concentrate on running the ball more than anything else this year because last year they sure the heck couldn't. I don't want to see a Marino type of offense. I want one that is unpredictable in that on any given play they can run or pass and teams defenses have to respect both. That's how you open things up.

That's an unfair task b/c Jake was a #1 overall pick (whom teams are rarely in position to get). If I took away every team's first round pick since 08 <who have needed a LT> and substituted it with Jake Long, then I could probably make an argument supporting virtually every team in the league drafting better offensively than us. Added, even if 10 teams "are" drafting better than us offensively, then that would mean there are 10 other teams setting themselves up for greater success.

Long was a gimme. Outside of Jake, we've yet to have an Olineman prove worthy, so I don't give credit here for hitting on a cant miss prospect, especially when he represented the "safe" pick.

Bess was a FA signing. If we saw him becoming the guy he is today, we would've drafted him rather than hope he makes his way to us. He could've very well landed on another team. I counter Bess with Ireland not recognizing FA Anthony Armstrong's potential, especially considering Ginn's state with the team.

I give him credit for Hartline b/c that was a decent find, however I deduct points for focusing too much on possession type guys during a draft that was littered with playmakers. He could've pulled a name out of a hat in the 1st 4 rounds of 2009 and had a decent chance of hitting on a guy. 2 WRs drafted in the 1st 4 rounds of a ridiculously talented 09 WR crop and we only end up with Hartline? I consider that underachieving. As decent as Hartline is, it hurts us even more that Turner wasted a 3rd round pick. A lot of teams got a better WR than we did in 09.

We've drafted 2 RBs---- no solid contributor yet, although I'm higher on Lex than most. Could prove yet to be a nice late round find.

We busted at TE, and that hurt us this year. Ireland's done a poor job anticipating future offensive needs and properly addressing them ahead of time IMO.

Pat White set us back a year of upgrading another position of need. The trickle down effect has hurt us in a division where every mishap separates us further and further from NE. That should've been Connor Barwin at OLB........ which would've freed up our 2010 2nd rounder to use on Rob Gronkowski instead of Misi. It was apparent that JT & JP were nearing the end, yet Ireland ignored drafting an OLB who could transition seamlessly rather than being forced to draft and start a rookie.

We've uncovered no offensive 5th-7th round gems to date.

Jury is still out on Henne although I'm optimistic he'll turn out to be a solid starter. We were lucky he was even there at our pick, so I could deduct points for either not taking him at #32 or trading #32 up for Flacco. Just sayin. lol.

After 3 years I think it's apparent that Ireland's strength falls on the defensive side of the ball.

First of all this, is not an alternate account for DolfanJake. I happen to have been a fan of the Dolphins since 1966 and a season tickets holder since 1970. At least I was a season ticket holder until I decided not to renew my season tickets starting this coming season. Unlike you I do not think Ireland has done a good job as the GM of the Dolphins. He, along with Parcells decided to select Jake Long with the first pick in the draft a few years ago. While I think Long is an excellent left tackle, I also think that Ireland and Parcells messed up by not selecting Matt Ryan with this pick. Instead we were told by Ireland at the time that Henne was just as good as Ryan. This has proven to be absolutely an wrong assumption on the part of Ireland. As far as the offensive line is concerned. Ireland has done a terrible job of drafting offensive linemen or selecting linemen in free agency who are starting caliber in the NFL. Other than Long, there is not a starter on the offensive line who would be starting anywhere else in the league. Except for possibly Vernon Carey and Carey was not a draft choice of Ireland, so he can not be credited with selecting Carey in the first place. The Dolphins are terrible at the two guard positions and at center. If you are actually someone who watches the games and you can't see the terrible play by the interior lineman. You obviously know nothing about how an effective offensive line performs. As far as the offensive coaching staff is concerned. Sparano went out and hired an offensive coordinator from the Cleveland Browns which had a worst offense than the Dolphins did last year. He now has an QB coach who has never been a QB coach before. He hired his son to watch offensive game tapes because I guess his son couldn't find another job. If you are happy with the GM and Sparano, so be it. While as a long time fan of the team, I would love nothing more than to be wrong about where I think this team is headed. I have no confidence at this time in the owner, the coaches, or the GM. I feel that the over one hundred plus thousand dollars I have spent on Dolphin season tickets and traveling to over 30 away games in the last 40 years entitles me to vent my frustration with the play exhibited by the team in recent years. The only way I can do this and have any impact on the owner is by my refusal to purchase season tickets anymore until the owner finally decides to get rid of Sparano, Ireland, Henne, and he brings in someone who can truly turn the Dolphins around. Also in regards to your comments regarding Ireland and how well he has done in selecting talent. If Ireland is such a great GM, why is it that the Dolphins have not improved as a team over the last two seasons. They were 7-9 in 2009 and 7-9 again last year. They now are in the same category as the Bills in the AFC East. The Jets and Patriots are now the class of the AFC East. It appears to me that for every decent selection Ireland has made in the draft and free agency during his time as GM. He has made far more bad decisions in the draft and in free agency. I guess I am spoiled because I remember when the Dolphins were actually considered one of the best organizations in the NFL. Now it seems that many of the fans are quite willing accept a mediocre team and an owner who appears to have no knowledge of how to run a class football organization. I am sure he is happy to take your money and continue to put a substandard product on the field.
If you are happy with the product and want to continue to go to the games, be my guest. As for me, I have no interest in giving anymore money to an organization that is now considered a joke by many associated with the NFL.

Continue to run the ball? They need to start running the ball to continue running it.
