Always wanting one-up my dead-weight brother, Peter, I decided to create my own mock draft for the GM League Draft this year. Unlike Peter, I turn to the film instead of the bottle.

    ROUND 1

    1. Green Bay Packers - AJ Green, WR, Georgia
This seems like the lock of the draft. After trading away Greg Jennings for a first round pick, it leaves a rather large hole at wide receiver. Donald Driver is 36, Jordy Nelson hasn’t lived up to his hype, and both Sam Hurd and Justin Gage aren’t even #3 WR caliber. AJ Green is quite possibly the best prospect this year in the NFL Draft and really there’s no other receiver even close to his talent. Green will look to be a big time target for Aaron Rodgers as they look to repeat as Super Bowl champions.

    2. Jacksonville Jaguars - Blaine Gabbert, QB, Missouri
Shaun Hill is a good stop-gap quarterback, but he’s definitely not the future. And if the Jaguars go into the season thinking Drew Stanton is even remotely close to a future franchise quarterback, they’ll be laughed out of Florida. Blaine Gabbert is possibly the best quarterback in this draft and has shot up draft boards as of late. Gabbert is an extremely smart individual and he should be able to start right away, but Shaun Hill can take over for a season if needed.

    3. Buffalo Bills - Patrick Peterson, CB, LSU
The Buffalo Bills get the pleasure of drafting, in my opinion, the best player in this draft. Patrick Peterson is one of those cornerbacks that has the speed along with the size necessary to play cornerback in the NFL. The Bills have no one worth starting at the cornerback position and when you’ll be facing the likes of Greg Jennings or Larry Fitzgerald twice a year, you’ll need someone who can cover. Peterson brings some credibility to Buffalo’s secondary; something that is much needed.

    4. Cincinnati Bengals - Robert Quinn, DE, North Carolina
The Bengals have a few needs, but every one of them is a reach at this point other than possibly Von Miller at linebacker. They’ll go ahead and select the best defense end in this draft in Robert Quinn. Raheem Brock isn’t getting any younger and Elvis Dumervil is coming off a major injury, having Robert Quinn come into the line-up will allow the Bengals to rotate Raheem Brock, giving them a great three man rotation at defense end.

    5. Arizona Cardinals - Da'Quan Bowers, DE, Clemson
The Arizona Cardinals could go a few different ways, but ultimately they’ll be looking to improve the pass rush by selecting Da’Quan Bowers out of Clemson. Trent Cole is an excellent pass rusher and Everette Brown has shown flashes, but I’m not sure if he’s ready to start. Bowers could insert himself opposite of Cole and make a big time impact by either freeing up Cole or just getting to the quarterback himself.

    6. Cleveland Browns - Marcell Dareus, DT, Alabama
Looking at Cleveland’s roster, it’s very likely that they will really take a hard look at Prince Amukamara and Von Miller as well. Julio Jones is even a possibility at this point as teams love to reach for wide receivers. They’ll decide on Marcell Dareus who is a monster defense end who excelled in Alabama’s 3-4 system. It’s safe to say that Cleveland won’t hesitate to pull the trigger on a big time player who has experience in the system they run.

    7. Oakland Raiders - Cam Newton, QB, Auburn
You just never know about them Oakland Raiders, but I think this one is a lock. The Raiders don’t have a quarterback and their general manager is in love with Cam Newton. I think this is a match made in heaven as Newton will sport black and silver. With weapons such as Darren McFadden, Steve Smith, and Jacoby Ford; Newton should be able to provide a spark in Oakland’s offense. However I would be a little worried that Newton will be Russell Part 2.

    8. Indianapolis Colts - Von Miller, LB, Texas A&M
With Blaine Gabbert off the board, the Colts will try to go best player available and fill a need at the same time. Pat Angerer filled in admirably at OLB last year, but I don’t think Angerer is a good long-term solution. Von Miller is an outstanding linebacker that will bring even more fire to the group after adding Chad Greenway to the squad. Miller can rush the passer and excel in coverage so I think the Colts would be happy to add him to their roster.

    9. Dallas Cowboys - Prince Amukamara, CB, Nebraska
Now here’s a team where we never know they’ll go, a few years ago they surprised us all by selecting Chris Johnson earlier than most anticipated. The Cowboys will look to improve their secondary by adding the second best cornerback in the draft and the only remaining tier one corner. Unable to retain Terrance Newman, the Cowboys need a new guy to cover those big time receivers in the NFC East. I’m sure Prince will be happy being “so blue” in Dallas (I get one Prince reference).

    10. Seattle Seahawks - Nick Fairley, DT, Auburn
The Seattle Seahawks could really use a defense tackle as they lost Brandon Mebane to free agency. Colin Cole is their only defense tackle worth starting and he’s 30 years old. Nick Fairley has a few character issues, but nothing that Pete Carroll cannot fix. Fairley is easily the best player available here and the Seahawks are lucky to have an opportunity to fill a huge need with an incredible talent in Fairley… Now they just need to figure out who starts at quarterback.

    11. Houston Texans - Julio Jones, WR, Alabama
The Texans bid farewell to one of the best receivers in the NFL, Andre Johnson, and welcome one of the best receivers in the 2011 NFL Draft, Julio Jones. After sending Johnson packing, the need at wide receiver leaped to high priority. Jones had an outstanding combine which lead to him skyrocketing on draft boards around the league. If the Texans cannot land Jones here, they may be stuck reaching for their choice later in the draft.

    12. New York Giants - Aldon Smith, DE, Missouri
The Giants are well known for their pass rush ability and for taking the best player available. With no real major needs in their sights, they will take the best option available in Aldon Smith. Smith can provide even more depth at defense end and allow the Giants to have even more pass rush. The idea of having Jason Pierre-Paul and Aldon Smith behind Osi Umenyiora and Justin Tuck is very scary… In fact I am glad I am not Mike Vick, Tony Romo, or Donovan McNabb.

    13. Detroit Lions - Ryan Mallet, QB, Arkansas
Right now the only quarterback on the Lions roster is none other than Chad Pennington and they chose to trade Matthew Stafford because he was injury prone. I don’t want to call the Lions GM hypocritical, but it’s somewhat hypocritical. The Lions will be praying that Gabbert or Newton falls to #13 overall, but will wind up selecting Ryan Mallet. Mallet is a quarterback that you either like or dislike; no real shades of gray. He can definitely succeed throwing to Calvin Johnson so the destination is ideal.

    14. St. Louis Rams - JJ Watt, DE, Wisconsin
The Rams won’t travel too far for their selecting in JJ Watt. This guy really belongs in Detroit with his non-stop motor, but the defense end from Wisconsin will get to spend his time in Nellytown. The Rams really have no one at defense end other than Chris Long. JJ Watt is one of those guys who can come in and make an impact right away so I expect the Rams to go for that idea. The Rams may go in another direction as well being there are many defense end prospects in this area worth a look.

    15. Carolina Panthers - Ryan Kerrigan, DE, Purdue
What would you want in a 3-4 OLB other than being able to rush the passer, stop the run, and be able to cover? If you’re looking for someone with leadership skills, then look no further than the Purdue defense end Ryan Kerrigan. Kerrigan projects to be a 3-4 OLB as he is a little undersized right now for 4-3 defense end. I’m not sure if 3-4 is ideal for Carolina’s defense at the moment, but selecting Kerrigan is a step in the right direction.

    16. Denver Broncos - Brandon Harris, CB, Miami (Fl)
After re-signing both Champ Bailey and Andre Goodman, the Broncos got rid of Perrish Cox and added Sean Smith. While the Broncos cornerback situation is fine at the moment, it doesn’t hurt to add more depth with the potential of being a starter. Champ Bailey can only play for so long and while Sean Smith is a good starter, it’s tough to say if he can be that number one guy. Brandon Harris has all the skills needed to be that guy and learning under Champ Bailey will only help.

    17. Miami Dolphins - Jimmy Smith, CB, Colorado
The Miami Dolphins said their goodbyes to Sean Smith, but they soon welcome another Smith from the West… Jimmy Smith from Colorado has the size that the Dolphins love at cornerback. Smith was able to stop AJ Green when they met and he’ll be asked to take on even bigger tasks such as Larry Fitzgerald twice a year… The value may be questioned by some, but it’s hard to question selecting what some think is the third best cornerback in the draft.

    18. San Diego Chargers - Anthony Castonzo, OT, Boston College
The Chargers really need another tackle opposite of Marcus McNeill and while inside linebacker is a big time need, there isn’t really anyone worth selecting right now. Anthony Castonzo is a step ahead the other tackles and would be able to instantly start in San Diego at right tackle. Rated as the #1 offense tackle by many, it wouldn’t surprise me if Castonzo went higher than this. Offense tackle is always in high demand; Doug Free is living proof.

    19. Washington Redskins - Tyron Smith, OT, USC
After trading away Trent Williams, it opened yet another hole for Washington to fill. Eric Winston isn’t really left tackle material and I don’t think Alex Barron belongs on an NFL roster. I can only imagine this is temporary as after adding Tyson Smith to the roster, the Redskins can move Winston to the right side and put Smith at the left side. Tyson Smith will need to get stronger if they wish to place him on the right side, but I think he has the quickness needed to play left tackle.

    20. Tampa Bay Buccaneers - Adrian Clayborn, DE, Iowa
Adrian Clayborn is a guy that some predicted would be a top five pick, but a rather weak senior season dropped him to the middle of the first round. The Buccaneers really don’t have anyone special to rush the passer and they’ll need someone to help out Gerald McCoy on the defense line. Adrian Clayborn is a good pass rusher and can stop the run as well. The Buccaneers have plenty of needs on defense and Clayborn is definitely a start.

    21. Kansas City Chiefs - Akeem Ayers, LB, UCLA
The Kansas City Chiefs present your starting line-up at outside linebacker… Tambi Hali. That’s legit. Opposite of Hali? The Chiefs should take a traditional 3-4 OLB at #21 overall, who better than Akeem Ayers? Ayers was great at rushing the passer, stopping the run, and in coverage at UCLA, making him a perfect fit opposite of Tambi Hali. This is the ideal pick for Kansas City unless they feel like going for offense line depth or possibly Mark Ingram.

    22. Houston Texans - Mike Pouncey, OG, Florida
The Texans could really use some depth at the offense guard position and possibly even a new starter in place of Mike Briesiel. Look no further than Mike Pouncey if you want something like that. Now some feel that Pouncey will be drafted higher than he deserves based on the success his brother had last year in the NFL. However Pouncey is of fine value here and the Texans have a need on their offense line. Just imagine what Foster can do with a better offense line?

    23. San Francisco 49ers - Mark Ingram, RB, Alabama
As much as I’d love to pencil in Jake Locker here, I just know that won’t happen. I’ve heard rumors that the San Francisco GM wouldn’t draft him in the 7th round so I am going to take a guess that they’ll take the best player available in Mark Ingram. The 49ers sent Frank Gore packing and will look to bring in the next Emmitt Smith. Ingram should be able to easily hit the 1,000 yard mark in San Francisco behind the offense line in San Francisco.

    24. New Orleans Saints - Derek Sherrod, OT, Mississippi State
With Jermon Bushrod jetting for the East Coast, it fills a major void at left tackle. Derek Sherrod has the experience and talent to play left tackle at the next level. Drew Brees needs someone to protect his blind side and Sherrod is exactly what they are looking for. I am sure they would have loved an opportunity to select Mark Ingram after the departure of Pierre Thomas, however a potential franchise left tackle isn’t something to cry home about.

    25. Atlanta Falcons - Aaron Williams, CB, Texas
The Falcons really need another cornerback opposite of Brent Grimes. When I say they really need another cornerback, I really mean it. Aaron Williams will look to come in and instantly claim a starting role next to Grimes. Williams has great size and is extremely athletic; when you’ll be taking on receivers in the NFC South, it definitely helps. Williams can also stop the run and has tremendous special teams skills to help the team in any means possible.

    26. Buffalo Bills - Jonathan Baldwin, WR, Pittsburgh
The Bills filled the cornerback role earlier, but really need a good wide receiver to fill the void left by Lee Evans and Stevie Johnson. Jonathan Baldwin is a big receiver who had plenty of production at Pittsburgh. Baldwin has an incredible vertical leap that would make even Chris Chambers jealous. Baldwin will look to be the player that Terrell Owens never was in Buffalo. There are a few receivers that could be selected instead of Baldwin, but the point remains.

    27. Indianapolis Colts – Nate Solder, OT, Colorado
Did you know how old Matt Hasselbeck is? He’ll be age 36 by late September. Now one can really question how in the world he’ll stay healthy the full season if he has the likes of Adam Goldberg or Jeffrey Linkenbach protecting him. Adding Nate Solder would give the Colts a great right tackle to compliment the likes of Michael Roos. The Colts will have an excellent offense line just by upgrading their right tackle and that’s exactly what they’ll do.

    28. San Francisco 49ers - Martez Wilson, LB, Illinois
The 49ers will go on the clock with Jake Locker on the board. Once again they will pass, but what’s more surprising is them passing on Christian Ponder. The 49ers really need another inside linebacker next to Patrick Willis so they will take the rising Martez Wilson out of Illinois. Wilson is a perfect fit at 3-4 ILB and would be excel next to Patrick Willis. The 49ers GM is known for sticking to his board no matter what the public thinks and I have a feeling Wilson is pretty high up there.

    29. Miami Dolphins - Kyle Rudolph, TE, Notre Dame
The Miami Dolphins need a tight end. Anthony Fasano isn’t a bad option at tight end, but he’s just a solid starter. Adding Rudolph will help stretch the field and gives Miami a good receiving tight end and a good blocking tight end who are both above average at the other areas of their game. Rudolph will just be yet another option for Kyle Orton who should be able to adjust to life in Miami just fine with the likes of Jeremy Maclin, Stevie Johnson, and Danny Amendola.

    30. New York Jets - Cameron Jordan, DE, California
The New York Jets have a lot of needs because of the past GM who loaded the team with bloated contracts. There are some definite question marks on the defense line, especially beyond Mike Devito. Solution? Cameron Jordan. The interesting thing is that Jordan could possibly be used in a variety of ways. Jordan could easily be a wildcard in the Jets defense, moving to a variety of positions. He certainly has the skills for it and if anyone can get it done… it’s Rex Ryan.

    31. Baltimore Ravens - Justin Houston, LB, Georgia
The Baltimore Ravens could use another OLB as Jarret Johnson isn’t getting any younger and the Ravens can never have enough pass rushers. Houston has experience in the 3-4 defense as an OLB so the transition wouldn’t be as rough compared to others. Houston has a great burst and should be an excellent addition to the Ravens defense. It’s very possible that the Ravens take a good look at Cameron Heyward here as well.

    32. Denver Broncos - Corey Liuget, DT, Illinois
The Broncos could use some depth at the defense tackle position as while we know Barry Cofield will be able to adjust without much of an issue in Denver, the real question will be Glenn Dorsey. The addition of Corey Liuget will be some added insurance in case Dorsey doesn’t pan out. Liuget is a disruptive force with surprising athleticism for a big guy. Liuget will likely only be a rotational defense tackle his first year, but look to start in the future.

    ROUND TWO

    33. New England - Cameron Heyward, DE, Ohio State
The Patriots don’t have much depth at defense end and Cameron Heyward is an ideal 3-4 defense end.

    34. Buffalo Bills - Allen Bailey, DE, Miami (Fl)
The Bills really need a pass rusher, Allen Bailey can get that done for them.

    35. Cincinnati Bengals - Bruce Carter, LB, North Carolina
The Bengals will look to add Bruce Carter and may finally switch Maualuga to MLB.

    36. Chicago Bears - Stephen Paea, DT, Oregon State
The Bears could use some help in the interior of their defense line, Tommie Harris isn’t dependable.

    37. Cleveland Browns - Ben Ijalana, OT, Villanova
Adding Ijalana at right tackle could give the Browns a very dangerous offense line for PT23.

    38. Indianapolis Colts - Christian Ballard, DT, Iowa
The Colts could use some depth at defense tackle and adding Ballard is an excellent way of doing it.

    39. Philadelphia Eagles - Rahim Moore, FS, UCLA
The Eagles patiently wait and get the best free safety in the draft; Santa arrived early with Moore and forgiveness.

    40. Dallas Cowboys - Marcus Cannon, OG, TCU
The Cowboys still need to shore up that interior line, Cannon is one of the best guards available.

    41. Buffalo Bills - Torrey Smith, WR, Maryland
The Bills need some more receivers and Torrey Smith would compliment Baldwin very well.

    42. Houston Texans - Muhammad Wilkerson, DT, Temple
The Texans could use some added insurance at defense tackle behind Early Mitchell.

    43. Seattle Seahawks - Jake Locker, QB, Washington
Nate Davis and Daunte Culpepper won’t cut it, even in the NFC West.

    44. Pittsburgh Steelers - Danny Watkins, OG, Baylor
Rashard Mendenhall could use some help running inside, Watkins certainly can’t hurt.

    45. Minnesota Vikings - Marvin Austin, DT, North Carolina
The Vikings will hold off on drafting a quarterback and look to add a defense tackle that reeks of potential.

    46. Oakland Raiders - Phil Taylor, DT, Baylor
Phil Taylor is a big man and we know how the Raiders like’em.

    47. St. Louis Rams - Leonard Hankerson, WR, Miami (Fl)
Sam Bradford could use some weapons and Leonard Hankerson would be an excellent addition.

    48. Baltimore Ravens - Ras-I Dowling, CB, Virginia
The Ravens select the best cornerback available and add some more depth to their secondary.

    49. Atlanta Falcons - Stefen Wisniewsi, C, Penn State
The Falcons could use a lineman with the versatility to play center or guard.

    50. San Diego Chargers - Jerrel Jernigan, WR, Troy
The Chargers need to fill the void left from Vincent Jackson, Jernigan is their man.

    51. New York Jets - Titus Young, WR, Boise State
The Jets lost two big time receivers in Braylon Edwards and Santonio Holmes, Young is a consolation prize.

    52. New York Giants - Drake Nevis, DT, LSU
The Giants continue to take value and add depth to their defense line.

    53. Indianapolis Colts - Rodney Hudson, OG, Florida State
The Colts could use a back-up plan at guard if things go wrong, Hudson is a great prospect.

    54. Green Bay Packers - Ryan Williams, RB, Virginia Tech
The value of Ryan Williams is too much for the Pack to pass up; great runner for the price.

    55. Kansas City Chiefs - Mikel Leshoure, RB, Illinois
The Chiefs need someone to compliment Jamaal Charles, who better than Mikel Leshoure?

    56. New Orleans Saints - Brooks Reed, DE, Arizona
More depth at the defense end position doesn’t hurt and Reed is a playmaker, plain and simple.

    57. Miami Dolphins - Curtis Brown, CB, Texas
The Dolphins aren’t done adding to their secondary as they look to add the other Texas cornerback.

    58. Baltimore Ravens - Orlando Franklin, OT, Miami (Fl)
Jeremy Trueblood leaves a few question marks at the offense line and the Ravens know it.

    59. Buffalo Bills - Jabaal Sheard, DE, Pittsburgh
The Bills continue to double up in the draft by adding yet another player from Pittsburgh.

    60. Chicago Bears - Lance Kendricks, TE, Wisconsin
Kellen Davis isn’t your ideal tight end, Lance Kendricks is an all-around player.

    61. San Diego Chargers - Quan Sturdivant, LB, North Carolina
The Chargers are desperate at ILB, Sturdivant will at least fill one spot.

    62. Chicago Bears - Sam Acho, DE, Texas
After trading away Jared Allen, the Bears need to find his replacement.

    63. Pittsburgh Steelers - Davon House, CB, New Mexico State
The Steelers could use some depth at cornerback behind Vontae Davis and Dunta Robinson.

    64. Green Bay Packers - Randal Cobb, WR, Kentucky
The Packers aren’t done adding to their offense yet, bringing another weapon for Rodgers.

I get off work in a half hour... if it were Thursday then there would have been a third round. Doing the mock was how I spent my day at work.

I haven't updated my page in a few days, but i have acquired 2 CBs (charles tillman and fabian washington) meaning i dont really need to take a CB in the first and will allow me to go BPA. I also have signed Chris Spencer who can play C/G, although wisnewski wouldn't be a bad pick depth wise

Lmaoroflmafao. Mike Wright could start. Ron Brace could start. Wilfork could start at DE while Pryor or Love starts at NT. Or one of them could start at DE. And then yes there is Justin Smith. Not to mention we wouldnt line up with 34 fronts as much as u think. Which would drop my olbs down to DE etc etc u get the picture, catch my drift, smell my feet?

Raheem Brock had 9 sacks last year and Carlos Dunlap had 9.5 in the last 8 games. That + Dumervil = no DE that early for me

There is some major, epic smokescreening going on in this thread. Real NFL GMs would be proud.
