Ok I actually think we got a great deal tonight so I'm going to post a bit of information about Fasano and how he stacks up against drospies Martin..

2008 Scouting Report - Scouts Inc.

    Fasano
Comment: Fasano makes for a big target and is quick and fluid for his size. He is intelligent, tough and hard-working. He has a terrific feel for the passing game. He has outstanding hands and can pluck on the run. He is a smooth route runner who knows how to get clean releases off the line. He settles into soft spots against zone coverage. He is a clutch performer who has a knack for coming up big on third downs. He is a tough runner after the catch. He has good upper-body strength and is a feisty, technically sound blocker. He takes good angles and uses consistent leverage at the point of attack. He uses good hand placement and fights to finish. He can get position at the second level and hit moving targets. But Fasano lacks ideal athleticism and power. He has only adequate lower-body strength in the run game. He isn't explosive or fast in the passing game. He isn't a big-play threat.

    Martin

    2008 Scouting Report

Comment: Martin found himself called upon to do much more blocking from his backside tight end or H-back position in the Packers' new offensive system than in years past. He responded by playing more physical and using his athleticism to get the backside cutoff blocks, allowing for explosive gains in the running game. Martin also did a nice job using his improved technique to get into and establish position. He possesses the feet, strength and balance to drive linebackers off the ball or wall off defensive ends at the line of scrimmage. A college wide receiver, he has completed his transformation into an NFL tight end after six seasons but still possesses the ability to create favorable matchups and even the speed to stretch the field in the passing game. Playing as the second tight end behind Bubba Franks, Martin found himself getting more snaps and increased playing time until missing most of the second half of the season with bruised ribs. Martin played much more physical and has shown improvement as a blocker both at the point of attack and on the backside. He also has the athletic ability to block downfield in space. Martin is a big target with soft hands and the body control to adjust to the ball in the air, making him an inviting target. However, playing as the No. 2 and No. 3 tight end, staying healthy continues to be a concern for Martin, raising the question of durability.

Not to mention this year is fairly thin in the draft for LB as well as for TE's So I think this is great for us

This is a great trade for us. We get a TE that is better than any on our roster and that the FO is familiar with, so they obviously know something about him that we dont, and its quite obvious that Martin was/is terrible. This saves us a pick in the draft for sure. Now we can at least concentrate on other needs this year instead of burning a pick on a TE. Sure theres some great TE's in this draft, but none that come WITH a LB that has experience in our new defensive system!

exactly we got two for one here. fasano is better than any TE we're likely to get with our 4th anyway. plus he's a sure thing, you know what you get. Ayodele is just gravyu but gives us another body inside and relieves the pressure to draft that position

The only reason Fasano hasn't been consider a great player is he is playing behind Witten and not getting as much time. We stole him from the Cowboys. Ayodele was also a starting LB....you rarely get two guys who are potential starters for a 4th.

Yes that's why I posted the complete stats as well. I mean really the only thing i see is that JT goes to Dallas now and we take one of their lower 1st rounders :)

We have absoutley robbed them blind I'm still trying to understand why we are allowed to do that or maybe

JEDI PARCELLS is doing the mind tricks LOL

We now have 2 needs resolved especially when there was a very thin amount of talen for these 2 positions in this years draft. It's like buy oine get 2 for free!!!

Well it has to be looked at as a good deal for us simply because we got one bona fide starter (in Tuna's system) and one potential starter for one pick. We may or may not have gotten any kind of steal at #100, so this is a good deal for us...even if both turn out to be backups, they'll be better than or as good as the guys on the roster now..

Fasano has the quality to become a really important player for us due to his reliability. Will he make the pro bowl? No, he won't, but he will halp move the chains on a consistent basis and could become an absolute saviour for John Beck (or maybe Chad Henne). Ayodele is a guy who garnered a lot of attention in free agency when he left the Jags and and by all accounts was very impressive in his first year with Dallas. He faded down the stretch last year but make no mistake about it, he is a better player than Crowder at this point and instantly makes our defense better IMO. Don't be surprised if our starting ILB's on day one of the season are Ayodele and Torbor.

I really think that the Dolphins made a wise move here..

Time will tell but both Ayodele and Fasano would be starters on a lot of teams and both are major upgrades to what is currently on the Dolphins roster..

Man the Tuna is @ss raping JJ and his Boys!
