And that's exactly how/why the WWE should bring in Sting, even if it's just for one match. They will get so many extra buys because of it as well as Sting merch, DVDs, action figures etc. They would probably make more money for that 1 match than TNA would have made off of Sting for the past 5 or 6 years.

I mean let's face it, yeah it's WM so it will do a good buy rate but is the average person really willing to buy the PPV based on Cena/Miz, Edge/Rio, Triple H/Barrett, Punk/Orton? They need a big match on the card and Sting/Taker is one of the only true dream matches left in the business. Outside of a Cena/Undertaker WM match there's really no big money match right now. Obviously both Sting and Taker are limited due to age and injuries but they could probably put together a decent enough 10 minute match to make everyone happy.

Cool promo.

If they've somehow gotten Sting to sign, they should induct him into the Hall of Fame, have him do one match (preferably at Wrestlemania), and pump out a 3 disc DVD and call it a day.

Anything beyond that though and I think they're asking for trouble. Sting is clearly well beyond his prime, so they should bill him as a one time "special attraction" and not use him in an every day capacity.

I disagree. Sting is pretty much the LAST guy the mega stars can have a "dream match" with. Sting vs. Undertaker, Sting vs. HHH, Sting vs. Cena, Orton, and a couple of others. I am not saying make him a huge part of the WWE, but spreading some performances out over the course of a year would be great and give him a bonafide run in the WWE for video library purposes. I honestly think it could work.

But if you DO do one match...make it against the UT.

Yeah obviously Sting isn't going to just wrestle once if he signs with the WWE, especially just to lose (because let's face it he won't beat Undertaker at a WM ever). But I definitely can see him sticking around and maybe even be given a run with one of the World titles. I think seeing a Sting vs. Triple H and Sting vs. Cena match would be pretty cool. Hopefully his run will be better received than Hogan's 2002 run where after 3 months fans didn't care anymore. And as much as I like Sting, the WWE can't lose focus on their future and future stars.

And you're right the WWE would probably want Sting to wrestle at least a half a dozen of matches to put on his 3rd disc of any DVD they're going to put out. Even if one of the matches is Sting vs. Santino on a random RAW/Smackdown in June.

I'd be pissed if it turns out to be the Undertaker too. Do we really need a promo hyping his 2302392 return since 1990? I think everyone will be mad if it's not Sting.

Kurt Angle did a radio interview in which he stated his contract with TNA is up in August. I'm really hoping that the WWE ends up signing him away, not only because the guy can still go in the ring but because we'd finally get a Kurt Angle DVD. If you're TNA don't you start to talk to him about an extension now?

Word going around is that Lex Luger will be at WM this year which is leading to speculation he will be in the HOF. If true looks like that's one burnt bridge that Vince was willing to fix.

What a goofball episode so far....
Vince teases WM gm is the only person that can fill a 75,000 event, so we will see him next week.(rock?)
Segment 1 punk get his nose busted up and bleeds everywhere

Segment 2 R Truth says Green Bay Wisconsin Whats up?!! when they were in Milwaukee, which got boos and threw R Truth off the whole match. (wwe may take him off the ppv for this and last weeks skin the cat mishap.)

Segment 3 Natalia puts down a sponsor when she said "Don't be bitter Cole, just because your just for men hair care products aren't working out for you." Then cleans it up "well you need a lot of work Cole that's a heavy task to take."

They show another commercial hyping 2/21/11 ....with Johny Cash lyrics "aint no grave can hold my body down." freshly added in since everyone thought it was possibly Sting.
Obviously showing that it is Taker so people wont be greatly let down.

Jerry is in the ring with miz and looks surprised when the gm puts him in a match, oh yea he's standing there in his wrestling gear which he never wears.

Alex Riley is on commentating and calls Daniel Bryan "Brian Daniels" with Cole calling him out and the cameras cut to him all flustered.

Yeah, everyone seems off tonight. I thought the same thing about the promo. Seems to be clearly indicated Taker's return.

Obviously John Cena is the only one standing at the end of the night. Ugh.

Yeah the new 2/21/11 promos are pointing to the Undertaker but I'm still holding out hope it will end up being Sting as well.

Taker was always Smackdown in recent years. So, if its him, I think we'd be seeing those promos on that show, and they could have played the Cash song for confusions sake. I still think it will be Sting.

Did Vince say that the host would be the Raw GM? I missed that. All I heard was that the host would be announced.

The brands mean little around WM time as now you're seeing guys like Del Rio on both shows so with the Undertaker being on Smackdown it doesn't mean that he won't appear on RAW. Plus it makes sense to have the Undertaker return on a live show like RAW or a PPV instead of a taped show like Smackdown since the surprise/build up to his appearance will do more for the live program, since people could read about what was taped and decide whether or not to tune in to see it.

I do think it was odd the WWE played part of that song in the promo. You'd think they want the mystery to play out much longer to get people to talk about it more. It seems obvious it will be the Undertaker due to the lyrics but it could be a swerve to keep fans on their toes. I wouldn't be shocked if Sting ended up making an appearance on that RAW as well. I will say that if those promos are simply for the Undertaker let me just yawn now and get it over with.

As for the host, I don't believe Vince said the host would be the GM. I believe he just said there would be a guest host for WM this year. Some of the names being thrown out as possible hosts are Sting, The Rock or Goldberg.

I am getting tired of the whole gang warfare thing. Nexus is stale now IMO.

19. Samphin

Samphin Κακό σκυλί ψόφο δεν έχει

I disagree about Nexus, actually. I think they have been the best heel stable since the original NWO. I mean it. Evolution, Legacy, The crap in TNA, they haven't been doing things properly. Punk's group actually has brilliant strategies that go from blinding opponents, to tricking other wrestlers into talking crap about big brutes and getting their asses kicked because of it. Good stuff. Punk is by far, the best wrestler on the planet right now. He just can't go wrong, evne when his nose is broken.

As for Taker, it could be a red herring, but I doubt it. My guess is that they added the song to hedge people's bets for Taker so that they won't be disappointed/boo when Taker does come out. Otherwise, they would have a recipe for disaster.

And The Rock has been the guy bandied about since they will be in L.A. next week, and he is in a new movie that comes out around the time of Wrestlemania, but I doubt it is him. My thought went towards Austin who is WAY more attainable, has business ties to the WWE currently, and can and still will pop a crowd.

That or Pete Rose...

my only beef with Nexus is attaching the "New" Nexus name to the CM Punk version... that is usually the kiss of death to a team. totally agree with Punk being on fire. dude is the best thing going.

oh and as for Sting, Mike Mooneyham reported sunday in his column that things have swung back in TNA's favor, due to WWE wanting Sting to work a schedule he has no desire to work these days.

Definitely makes sense that Sting doesn't want to be on the full time WWE schedule. I don't blame him really, he's what 52 years old now why make him work house shows, just let him work each week on RAW/Smackdown and at PPVs.

I don't recall it showing up anywhere that usually breaks that type of news like PWinsider or the like. The whole plan has been Taker working a lower card match against like Barrett because it's be less stress on him.

I can't think of a more dumb way to have HHH end his career. After all this time off, why not just stay gone rather than popping up just to lose a few weeks later?

Even if it does happen it's not like Triple H will stay retired. A retirement match in wrestling only lasts a matter of days/weeks sometimes.

34. Samphin

Samphin Κακό σκυλί ψόφο δεν έχει

I actually think HHH is closer to retiring than not. He has made some overtones over the past year about hanging them up and moving into the front office. I doubt very seriously that he works any sort of full time schedule again. I imagine that he will start to take over more of Vince's day to day repsonsibilities and make the occasional wrestling appearance. He seems content with his career in my view.

WWE is missing a head figure's presence on tv...like the days when Vince was so into the story lines. I agree with you that HHH is close to done as a full time wrestler and I think he could continue on as a head business figure and wrestle here and there like vince did. Of course he would have to be a uber heel to accomplish this.

36. Samphin

Samphin Κακό σκυλί ψόφο δεν έχει

Eh, it has been refreshing to not have a GM out there eveyr other second, in my opinion. Not a big fan of the computer of doom, but at least it was something a tad different. If it turns out to be HHH as the RAW GM, that works for me. And I don't think he HAS to go heel. Just make decisions for the betterment of the company. Good, bad or otherwise. Regal did that as GM and was brilliant at it. It is too bad his drug issues derailed it because he was in a groove for awhile.
