I thought it was a good, not great game. I was glad to see the Pack win. Didn't see the HT show, and I'm guessing I didn't miss much. And, I thought the commercials were just so-so. All in all, I enjoyed it. On a scale of 1 to 10, I'd give it a 6 or a 7.

If you base your Super Bowl experience on the commercials, half-time show and the star bangled banner you will always be disappointed in the Super Bowl.

Now, I thought the game was pretty good.

Why Ft Worth? The stadium is in Arlington. The old stadium was in Irving which was about the same distance from Dallas as Arlington.

I don't know who the producers were of that half time show, but those sound guys need to be identified and never get work again... First Fergies mike wasn't on for at least 60-120 seconds, then either the 4th guy (don't know all the names) muffed his lines or his mike snapped in and out during his solo, then did anyone hear Slash's guitar ?? I sure didn't ?? What a fiasco...What's really sad is that these guys (sound guys) deal in venues like this (stadiums, larger venues) all the time. It's nothing new so why didn't they get it right ??

I'm not the biggest BEPs fan or Slash or Usher, but the technicalities of the show were sadly under-performed...

IMO much of this year's game fell flat.

    -Fans that couldn't get in
    -National Anthem flub
    -so-so commercials
    -boring halftime show
-game with not enough big plays and some sloppy plays, lots of injuries

I think the game suffered by comparison b/c the playoffs this year were very good and the last two SBs were much better. I did predict that GB would win and was pretty close on the score so I wasn't surprised that it wasn't as close as many were predicting.

It's nice to hear the fans are getting tickets to next year's game. That would have appeased me if I was in their spot unless I was a fan of GB or Pitt. If that were the case then probably nothing would have unless my team made it back the following year.

The anthem flub was bad, but mistakes happen. And I'm not as bothered by people try to make the anthem their own as some are.

I like the Black-eyed Peas, but that show was bad. Some of the visuals were decent, but everything else was bad, particularly the sound.

I liked a couple of the ads. My favorites were the VW Darth Vader one followed by the Audi, rich people prison one with Kenny G. There were a few others I liked, some Doritos and Bud commercials were decent, but not great. Most every other ad fell flat for me.

Overall, too much fell flat for me in this game. I was happy GB won, but the game and experience was so-so. I did make some lasagna cupcakes that were awesome though.

I thought it was a pretty good game really. It played out like I thought it would when GB lost nearly thier entire secondary.

Seeing we are all on this board, we have on inherent thing in common. We are all football fans. Within that 90% of us are diehards.
Since when has the commercials/halftime show been a factor in if you enjoyed a football game?

I will agree that it may not have been as good as the previous 3 Superbowls, but we have been spoiled by those. The Gaints’ miracle, the Santonio catch, and Manning getting picked are iconic images.

But here was a great game.
    A big lead.
    A great comeback.
    Huge injuries before the half.
    A huge momentum swing.
One of the greatest SB ever played by a QB. Just absolutely stunning. If it weren’t for drops. It would be talked about as the greatest ever.
A defensive stop at the 10 yard line to give the offense a chance.
A 2 minute drive that ended on 4th down.

If the Steelers had ended up driving down the field and scoring we are looking at one of the greatest SB’s ever.

Who cares about all the other Superbowl BS. This was a great FOOTBALL game.

I don't know guys, call me an old fashioned traditionalist but I can't stand either one of those renditions of the national anthem...and as much as I liked Whitney Houston (Pre-Bobby Brown and coke out the ***), I blame Whitney Houston for these performances of the national anthem.

It's like they're trying to do their own interpretation of the Star Spangled Banner as if it's going to launch their career or redefine who they are.

There's a comedian out there named Craig Shoemaker and in one of his skits, he specifically addresses this and through his routine, you see how he makes perfect sense.

I thought it was a very entertaining game....especially when Pitt made the move to get back in it....

Liked some of the commercials...my favorite was the Chrysler one..."Imported From Detroit" really pulled the heart strings...

Half time show...."eh"...wasnt bad wasnt great...but then again....how many half time shows are "great"? Love to see them convince Led Zepplin to do one.....

All in all....it was fine. How anyone can say worst ever...when we had all of the Dallas blow out bowls....and some that never were a contest...at least this one came down to one or two plays. If Aaron Rogers doesnt hit that beautiful 30 yard pass to convert a 3rd in long...I think the Steelers win that one....

Man...Aaron Rogers is some kind of QB.

Id take him over both Brady and Manning.

I disagree that it was a great game. Great games tend to have many momentum swings and many great plays. This game had neither. The only drama came from a comeback attempt, but it was minor. Even the comeback wasn't impressive. It wasn't characterized or thwarted by great plays. Most are commenting today that Pitt looked very disorganized for a team that had done this before. And I might recall the INT return and the seam pass to Jennings for GB and the TD pass to Wallace for Pitt in a few years, but that's it. But I probably won't. None of those plays were all that memorable.

And the SB has been about more than the just the game for a while. We are all football fans here, so the game is of primary importance, but it doesn't exist in a vacuum. The entertainment and ads add or detract from that experience. This year they mostly detracted from an experience that was a bit of let down to begin with.

The Packers should have run away with this one. Injuries to three starters obviously helped the Steelers make it competitive and of course all the dropped passes. Field conditions were terrible, too many people slipping. Commercials were okay, loved the Darth and Doritos's commercials, there was a Pepsi one I liked too, Chrysler people complaining about interest rates/paying back the people kinda killed their whole "we are from Detroit" message. Sound at the half time show was about as bad as it could be. And as for the national anthem, it has no place at sporting events, I wish they would stop using it.

From a visual aspect Marine, to set up shop in Downtown fort worth was just a huge mistake...The energy, the look of it, was bush league..

How bout fly overs going over a closed stadium...lol...

and why not keep the roof open, it was beautiful outside..

Bottom line, Goodell has no clue as to wtf hes talking about when it comes to our venue.

I didn't care much for the game, losing a bunch on Pitt had something to do with it.

I've seen 1,000 renditions of our "Star Spangled Banner" from Hendrix, Jose, etc, etc. This was easily one of the worst.

The visuals at half time were good. The audio sucked, and I'm not a big fan. A "wardrobe malfunction" may have saved it.

How many football fans out there liked seeing a guy suck another guy's fingers and pants for Dorito crumbs? Have I somehow lost touch with what people want to see or, did that just REALLY SUCK (appropriate term)?

Game was good. Half time show was awful as usual. This years was worse then normal though. The commercials...sigh...were just pathetic. I dont care what people say about not paying attention to commercials...in years past they were very funny and entertaining. this years was ***. there were like 3 good commercials.

I thought the game itself was pretty good. Not great, but as someone who has seen almost 40 of them it was probably better than 60-70% of the lot.

There was a decent amount of sloppiness, though, both in the game and in the events surrounding it. In the end I don't think the NFL is going to look upon this Super Bowl as one of their prouder moments.

Basic humor is to give the unexpected. Unless you expected the guy to lick the fingers, then that is funny to many people.

I find it interesting that was the commercial that stuck out to you. I actually forgot about it.

I sort of thought this was the first game where it looked like the Steelers were just happy to be there, I did not see any trademark intensity or attitude out of Tomlin's team, to me they just did not look hungry.

agreed...leading up to the game I commented a few times during the week about how it looked to me that Burger, felt like he had no pressure on him...like he was there to win for his buds...

The place was obviously more intense in the 2nd half, fans included, to me it seems there was a little too much comfortability, they took that approach of ''were so experienced'' and it backfired some..

Burger needs to drop 15 lbs next year and get a little faster.

Deej, this may sound crazy but if Dixon leaves the Steelers I think they should take a shot on Jemarcus Russel to be the #3 Qb.

As for Rothless, wasn't so much him, it was more the Steelers reminded me of a team that was just bored.

it wasnt so much him, but he did imo have that attitude going into the game, and when your leader/QB has it, iam sure it has influence..

I can see that fit there with Russell..retrain him the right way, then try to get a draft pick

I think the Steelers thought that somebody would hand them the Lombardi trophy as long as they showed up. They looked like a team that bought into their own hype.

I thought it was a pretty good game, not great but definitely entertaining. As far as the performances, who cares, thats not why I tune in. Whitney's was the best but then again it was done in a studio and lipped but still very inspiring.

I find it odd that many here are judging "why" some watch the Super Bowl.

Personally because I am in the commercial business (I do freelance video work), I enjoy the Super Bowl commercials because they are fresh and I can guarantee a lot of thought went into them all... regardless of how they panned out. I don't care so much about the halftime show or who sings the national anthem, but I can understand why some do.

    EXACTLY!!!

Anyone who wants to nitpick over this game that it wasn't a good game for this or that miniscule reason, has too much free time on their hands.

This was a great game, a very exciting game.

I couldn't care less about who sings the songs or who does what at half time and I sure as sh!t wouldn't use poor performances in either as a reason the game itself wasn't a great one.

I thought the game was entertaining although somewhat of a defensive struggle.

I usually do something else during the national anthem ,commercials and halftimes so I cant comment on that.I even missed the Wardrobe adjustment incident a few years ago.:wink2:

The audio on halftime shows is usually pretty poor .It makes me wonder if these artists would ever have become famous without recording studios and sound effects.

Didn't read through the whole thread, but no Super Bowl has been, or will be, as boring as the Steelers/Seahawks a few years ago.
