Verizon’s preorder servers are going to melt into a puddle of goo.

 

Went to Verizon today to see if I'm eligible for an upgrade. I am, but I think I decided against getting an iPhone. The rep mentioned the thunderbolt, and I think that is the route I will be going. Boik I'm gathering you work at Verizon, any idea when the Thunderbolt is released? The rep I talked to thought in February, but wasn't sure of the exact date.

I'm all for competition and having more options available. So having Verizon carry the iPhone seems like a good thing.

But I've had a iPhone 3g for over two years and I haven't had any problems with it. I've had maybe two dropped calls the whole time. And the only time I don't get good reception is when I'm out in the middle of nowhere.

I'm going to try and wait for the next gen iPhone. I'll certainly give Verizon a look. But I haven't had any problems with ATT

You’re hearing June because Apple’s developer conference, WWDC, is usually scheduled for June. That’s where they’ve unveiled the new iPhone every year. Yeah, extremely safe bet they’ll have the iPhone 5 (or 4GS, or whatever) ready to go in June.

 

im going to hold out till the iPhone 5 comes out. i already waited this long whats a few more months

VeriPhone preorders went live at 3 AM. Apple will take preorders on the 9th.

And since the iPad with 3G is coming to Verizon at some point, this is relevant to the thread: at 11 AM Eastern, Apple and Rupert Murdoch will have a press event to launch The Daily, an iPad-only news publication.

 

Personally I can't switch carriers b/c I'm already tied into my AT&T contract but even if that wasn't that case, I'm not sure I'd go to Verizon just for the iPhone. The commercials try and make it seem like Verizon is Jesus's cell phone carrier which to me is their way of trying to hide something.

 

Me too. I already knew you could do that too so what are they trying to really say?

 

They’re saying “Don’t go to Verizon, because you can’t use voice and data at the same time like you can on AT&T.”

My mistake, mixed up my days. Yeah, 15 hours until preorders from Verizon begin. Apple won’t take preorders until the 9th.
