No taxpayer money at all to pay for stadium.

The Chargers are actually a more serious threat to move to LA than the Jaguars are. The Chargers can’t get a new stadium deal done, they’re already geographically next door, and the NFL’s division alignments wouldn’t be screwed up. After all, why force an AFC South team to travel to LA for a road game? The Rams being in the NFC West is already silly enough.

I imagine that the Chargers are #1 on the list, followed by the Vikings.

Minny is making no progress on a stadium either, even with the roof collapse.

whisper is that AEG have had preliminary talks with Goldman Sachs who Alex Spanos hired to sell his stake in the chargers. He own 35% and his kids own 15% each. Having 35% would be more then enough to have control over the team and to move them to LA. San Diego needs tax payer money and a loan from the NFL to build a new stadium. Either way AEG seem serious this will more likely happen with or without a team now. The Stadium will be used more then just a football stadium since it will be built right into the LA Convention Center. $700 mill from Farmers is the min and I believe it will up to $900 mill if they bring 2 teams.

Ideally, the Chargers and Rams would both move to LA, the Vikings would get a new stadium (paid for on their own dime), and the Jaguars would move to St. Louis to fill the void left by the Rams. Division rivalries are preserved, everyone’s happy… except St. Louis and maybe Jacksonville.

Oklahoma City is pushing for a football team to go along with the Thunder though, so I could see a team moving there.

On what are you basing the Rams going to LA? That they came from there? I really hadn't heard much about them being a possible move candidate.

Vikes will likely stay in place though. Jags have to be a goner in the next few years.

    Farmers Field really?
That rivals Pro Player Park as one of the worst stadium names ever.

This CBA issue is actually key for the Chargers, and them staying in San Diego. If a deal doesn't get gone, and this looms that benefits the San Diego area, buys them time to figure something out to keep them there. If the CBA gets done quickly, the Chargers could be moving to LA rather soon. But hell, at one point in time they were the LA Chargers back in the day anyhow. That huge water and energy plant in LA was a huge invester. Thats where the "Chargers" came from in the first place. Basically, the Chargers are the team most likely to make the move to LA. Would be a huge bummer for the San Diego area if they do indeed leave.

In that scenario, the Jaguars are still in the AFC South, but based in St. Louis instead of Jacksonville.

I’m not basing it on anything. I’m simply offering my opinion as to the best way for the NFL to change its markets while keeping its current divisional alignments. Remember, when the NFL realigned, they relied on geography as much as existing rivalries.

Jacksonville is clearly an NFL bust. So instead of moving the Jaguars to LA, which would mean the AFC South would span three time zones, it’s possible to give the LA both an NFC (Rams) and AFC (Chargers) team while keeping intact the current divisional alignments. Then you move the Jaguars to St. Louis, preserving football in that city, and keeping all four AFC South teams in the geographical area in which they were intended to exist. The Rams would still stay in the NFC West, and would actually geographically belong to that division with a move to LA.

The alternative is to keep the Rams in St. Louis while moving them into the AFC South, then moving the Jaguars to LA and placing them in the NFC West. Not a very elegant solution.

Rams might move back only because Rosenbloom now has controlling interest in the team since that ***** Frontiera died. She killed the owner in a mysterious boating accident in Ca (body never recovered), took ownership of the team and then moved the team to her home town of St. Louis. That the main reason the Rams moved.

Just get the Jags out of Florida so Orlando can watch the Phins again.
