Could Ochocinco be a fit for Miami??

I learned from Sportscenter that he could be a unrestricted free agent. What do you think? Could he be playing in Daboll's new offense?

As much as he entertains me and as much as I respect him as a player, I don't see him as a fit. I think guys like him and Randy Moss fall into the "one piece away category," for teams that can make it to the championship game, but don't have the UMPH to go all the way.... like they're missing a little something (i.e. Chicago).

We need to be looking younger, and PREFERABLY ego/attitude-free. If that's not possible, we can work on a developmental project, or perhaps a trade. I believe, as is, we have above average receivers. We just need a deep threat and a pass-catching tight end. Given the quality of Marshall, Bess and Hartline, I believe the former could be satisfied by a Donte' Stallworth or Bernard Berrian (just to keep defenses honest) while there are tons of tight ends readily available in the draft and free agency.

He would certainly be an upgrade over Hartline at the two spot, there's no question about that. I just wonder how two WR's with massive egos could get along? Things didn't exactly go so well with Ochocinco and T.O.

I question that. I would rather have Hartline.

Not a team player, production has slipped and Mike Brown just paid him a 6 million dollar bonus.

I think Ocho's actually pretty misunderstood. He's created a hell of a brand for a guy who's had only moderate success as a professional athlete. I always thought he had a huge ego too, until I started following him on twitter. The guy is just having fun. Humble isn't the word I'd use for him, but he certainly doesn't come off as an entitled prick who will be a ball hog. He's quick to point out when he makes mistakes and works to get better. He lobbied HARD for TO to come to Cinci and we didn't hear a peep out of him when TO got the majority of the looks. He was floored when Houshmenzadeh was cut this past season and expressed his dismay saying that Housh was the reason he had so much success early on in his career. He is very involved in the Cinci community, loves his fans and pays them back. He gives tickets away like they're candy, invites the first 100 people who get there to see a movie or eat dinner with him (he pays), etc. etc.

If anything he's a guy who understands that the NFL is a business and he can't count on it for the rest of his life. He plays hard, plays injured, works hard. Yes he ham's it up for the camera's, but he's not a cancer that call's people out or tears the locker room apart IMO.

I've been following the guy for almost two years, and I've honestly been VERY impressed. I had the guy totally wrong. Now, we can have a discussion of whether he's worth the price, or if he's still got the explosiveness that he once had, but as far as character I have no concerns about him and would welcome him to Miami.

I like Ochocinco, I just don't think Marshall and he would work well together on the field. Off the field, I am sure they would be fine.

i disrespectfully disagree. as your apprentice, i must point out your flaw. chad ochonachos makes money off twitter. it serves him to come off as a good person. while you may be correct in your theory, twitter is not sufficient evidence to support such a claim.

I would just like to point out: Ocho wouldn't be a problem if we are winning. Just saying. We all know that we are a few pieces and a few playmakers away on offense from being a winning team, since our defense is just about all set.

Ocho also wasn't a problem last season as virtually the number 2 WR and look at how much he helped TO by playing opposite of him. Him+Marshall+Bess+Hartline could be deadly. He also has the ability to stretch the field and get open. Something that Marlon Moore and Roberto Wallace do not have.

I would think he would be a positive for us as long as he isn't playing for 13mil or anything outrageous.

Also, think about it from the drat perspective. If we get a FA WR to be our #2, then we won't need to focus on the WR position for the first 3-4 rounds and we can fill in other needs like OL, TE, RB, etc...

Just throwing some positives out there to mix things up. (trust me, I do know the negatives of Ocho as well)

The idea that Mucho Stinko puts 100% effort into being the best player he can be is a total myth.

I dont think he is a horrible person or a team cancer like one poster pointed out. However, lets be real, he is doing nothing more than making himself into a brand. That is his primary goal.......marketing himself. He feels that is the best way to maximize his earnings. And thats fine. But, lets not pretend he is out to make himself the best player he can be or make his team the best it can be. He dosent put in the time or effort. Its exactly why Palmer wants out of there. He is tired of the whole act.

Mucho Stinko is out for himself and his self only. He spends way too much time doing really bad TV shows to be 100% focused on being the best WR he can be and working with his QB. The passing game in the NFL is all about timing and the reality is MuchoStinko runs sloppy routes a lot and makes too many mental errors that kill his team. He dosent really care of course, but he is decent at acting like he does. Most people see right through that BS. Just like Kris Jenkins pointed out earlier in the year when he sat in on the CBS pregame show with Marino and the gang. He called a spade a spade.
