Our justice system. People with no regard for life serving 3 life sentences on taxpayer money and Cats being summoned for jury duty. You really can't make this up. On a slightly serious note, assuming "this doesn't get resolved", couldn't the defendant appeal the ruling the cat took part in on the grounds that a cat took place in the ruling (LoL) and get another trial?
She is seriously thinking of suing the mall. Case 1: Fountain Lady vs. Mall Security Last week, a video made the circuits of a woman making the all-too-common mistake of texting and walking. She just happened to be walking right in the path of a mall fountain. "I saw the water coming at me, I could see the pennies and nickels at the bottom of the fountain and then I was in it," Cathy Cruz Marrero told the Reading Eagle. Soaked and shaken, she gets out hoping that no one saw her. Well, the security cameras in the mall did, and the guards played it over and over, much to the amusement of their friends, who recorded the whole thing, uploaded it to YouTube and introduced the world to Fountain Lady. Marrero, of course, wants the whole thing to go away, so she did what anyone would do to squash a viral video: She made the morning television rounds with a lawyer who said they would be investigating the incident and might consider suing the mall.
Makes a good case. Mall Security clearly failed to protect her from the oncoming water. What's worse, is they willingly abandoned their duties in the process. Taking them to court is clearly the best way to make this all go away.
If that dumb *** sues I hope she loses and has to pay court costs. Who could even identify her whiny *** from the video. Maybe next time she'll text her way into on coming traffic.

Cathy Cruz Marrero, who appeared on ABC's "Good Morning America" Thursday morning after granting her first TV interview to 69 News on Wednesday, is charged with five felony counts, including theft by deception and receiving stolen property. She's due back in court April 21. Police said Marrero, who used to work at Zales Jewelers at the Fairgrounds Square Mall in Muhlenberg Township, used the Zales credit account of someone she knows to make more than $4,000 in purchases without the account-holder's permission. Marrero also used the same woman's Target credit account to buy more than $1,000 worth of merchandise, said police, who indicated in court documents that the purchases were made prior to August 2007.
