I want to get to know this new Offensive Co-ordinator. Who knows him better than the fans who have studied, watched and discussed him as obsessively as we did with Dan Henning.... so here goes (WARNING - IT'S A LONG READ!!!) Quotes about new Phins OC brian Daboll from a Cleveland Browns fan message board [earlier complaints are that he insists on repeating what is working and NEVER changes it, this complains about the opposite, that he won;t stick with what's working. which is true? probably that fans can't be satisfied] [ great, that suits Tony and is very 2009 Dolphins... Tony's staff works well during the week before the game to create a great gameplan which shows in our performance in the first half, but poor or no halftime adjusments lead to us getting killed in second halves. That said, Henning called plays atrociously with a lead, closing the offense down, where Daboll is more open with a lead. Daboll closes the offense down when behind... and how does that make sense exactly??] [wow... sounds PERFECT for Tony Sparano. including the late collapses] [beginning to concern me. the idea that Daboll can pound the run game with a lead, and play off that success creatively, but can't call games from behind to engineer crunchtime comebacks. Man, between Tony's time management, Daboll not being a great playcaller for comebacks, and Henne's command of the two-minute offense we should be in for some real fourth quarter treats next year.] [it's becoming clearer and clearer why he and Tony bonded so well. They have the same approach to the game. lol.] [holy ****, it's awesome. he is Dan Henning Jr. and won;t call slants! lol.] [predictablility - CHECK. The Dan Henning - Brian Daboll DNA Match now has four points of congruency] [we could swap the names Henning and Sparano here and have the dolphins board fro last year. I am growing skeptical that this is a REAL change in philosophy and not simply Sparano finding another guy to do things the way he likes.. but with a few more throws and spread formations to keep Ross off his ***.] [again, we hear no slants. also, seems to gameplan well but adjust poorly in-game.] [well at least it sounds like there won't be 80% playaction calls.] Thoughts?
I think it would be better for all of us to just wait for Chad Henne's mom to opine on the hire. Then we will get a better idea as to whether the hire was good or bad.
Hmmmm. Not sure what to make of this guy. All I know is that he was responsible for one of the other two offenses worse than ours this season. I'm going to consider him to completely suck balls until he proves otherwise.
I'm not excited about Daboll by any means, but not too many OC's in the league would be able have success with the talent in Cleveland. Frankly, anyone who gets a win with Jake Delhomme as their QB deserves some credit. He had a stud RB and a pretty good O-Line in Cle. He ran the **** out of Hillis because he had to. It was their best chance to win. Now he has some weapons to play with. He has no excuses.
Well, if this forum is any indication of the fans over at those Browns forums...well, let's just say I will be taking what they say, good or bad, with a grain of salt. If fans were allowed to run any NFL football team I'd stop watching football all together.
Well if a team has constant loosing records i honestly don't see them being defensive about keeping much of anyone. Hopefully he's an improvement over Henning. That really shouldn't be hard though.
Spoke with a good friend of mine last night, Browns fan.... He said Daboll did a fairly decent job but the main problem was Holmgren wanting to run the WCO. It put him in a pickle.
my opinions are not important, most who post here know them already why be negative? it is what it is & nothing will change the direction we've taken we've crossed the Rubicon by bringing Sparano back as head coach the die is cast with Daboll & we must proceed with the game in the best way possible I will always be a Dolphins fan but refuse to be a Dolphin fool, here's hoping for the best! GoFish!
something really positive: MLS moves to a 34-game schedule in 2011 http://www.mlssoccer.com/news/article/mls-moves-34-game-schedule-2011
That's what I heard... Also that he is more adept at running a Pats type of O. Sounds good to me! But then again, I'm always the optimist!
we should trademark that "insanity offense" so no one can later. Kinda nifty. Hope it doesn't happen but nofty nonetheless.
You ARE the weakest link. Goodbye. Make up your mind will ya. Which one is it? He can play with a lead...... or he cant play with a lead?
I'm going to miss: 1GL - 1: fade to Hartline with BM on the other side. 2GL - 1: Max protect, 9 blockers, 1 WR 3GL - 1: W/C with no motion. 4GL - 4: FG
Yeah, I don't blame him for running it up the gut three times. Sure as hell beats trying to air it out to Brian Hartline two or three times at the goal line.
I hope your not implying that they are somehow jealous that we stole away their offensive juggernaut of a coach are you? This guy plain flat out sucks according to his record. I dont hear ONE player say they are upset or at a loss because he left. That is telling enough. Also if you think FANS drove Henning out wait till you see what we do with this asshat mid season.
