Philly is a contender, and Reid has said he wants to keep both QB's. It has been said they would take a 1st but, that cannot happen without a new CBA. Some think they would consider a 1st in next year's draft, although doubtful. For me, Kolb has been in the league for 4 years, and in 19 games has shown less than Henne. I have no interest in "AJ#2."
Kolb might be a decent QB, but have you all not learned from the past ?? Once a QB has played and been somewhat successful in the WCO, they never, ever, ever are able to convert back to vertical offenses and be successful.... None of them have done it. Kolb is not our savior...and to be honest, he hasn't even proven to be elite where he's at with a boatload of talented skill players around him....
we made a.j feeley look like a star along with ray lucus and tyler thigpen and jay fiedler and all the other qb's that we played whom looked like monatana for that one game who ended up our qb shortly after.
If I were the Fins, I'd offer Hasselbeck somewhere around the $7m/year range. That guy still has something left.
We're not giving Philly a 1st rounder for someone who isn't much of an upgrade over Henne. If Chad were in the Eagles offense this year, we'd be asking them to trade us Henne right now.
We are discussing that our offense will be turned into a West Coast Offense scheme so this would make sense.
If we trade for either kolb or mcnabb I am done!!!!!!Andy reid will not let him go for anything less than a first round pick and this guy is maybe worth a 4 round flyer from what i have seen. I don't like henne but i don't want to waste a draft pick on a washed up has been or a overated bust that kolb is going to be.
If we are in a position to draft andrew Luck that means we are going to be the #2-3 in next years draft. That means Sparano is fired, entire organization is scratched (Something that should be happening now BTW) So again we will be asked to wait a few more years while we "improve"
If Chilly gets the OC job then; I'd swap 1st and trade Merling(2nd rd washout) for Kolb and their 3rd rounder.
Well.... if he were playing in Philly, then he really wouldn't be playing like he played this season. He'd be playing more like Kevin Kolb.
Guess I missed it...Chilly is a WCO guy, but Chud's the frontrunner, is he not ?? Maybe they are waiting to see who's available after the playoffs ?? We really don't have the personnel to run a good WCO.... A whole-sale change is possible, but highly unlikely given the CBA status and uncertainty of FA, etc...I don't see this as a possibility...Sorry too much change, not enough ammo to make it happen... All that and I still am not convinced that Kolb is any better than AJ Feeley was when we traded for him to be our savior...Something about Reid's offense that makes QBs look better than they really are...
Kolb couldn't beat out a convicted felon who was out of the league for two years for the starting QB position and we should trade for him? No thank you.
thats valid. but Henne also has the same flaws in his game hes had for 6 years now going back to Michigan. so you would think if he still has those flaws in his game, then they arent going anywhere. i see him more as a journeymen type.
It is not like he is going to get extra ability just because he is in Philadelphia. He is still going to take himself with him.
Well, I knew you would take my comment ok but I did not post why I said "or not". You see, not that many people are saying trade for Kolb in this thread. Or too many on this site for that matter. So if Henne were to be playing the same as, or close, I'd still say "not" to a trade. That and the fact that the cost is rediculous. We want better. Not the same, not close, not maybe right?
So what you're saying is you wouldn't want Henne from Philly for a 1st round pick? I agree that we want & need better (including "not close to better")..... even if that's Henne stepping up his game. I don't care who it is as long as it's improved. The one thing we haven't heard from this regime through the s#!tstorm is Henne's job being in jeopardy IIRC. The media and fans have said it, but I don't recall Ross & Co referencing Chad. I'm not saying it means anything yet, but it's worth mentioning.
Nor should they say it. There are not a lot of options right now, and a lockout is looming so if they like him or don't, it would not be wise to say anything.
Maybe we should bench Henne after like 2 games, and he will automatically demand a 1st round pick from teams around the league. Seems like a below average season and a benching automatically makes fans from teams without a QB want to trade for you and pay a heavy price. Pretty much whats going on with Kolb right now.
If that bastitch ever wears a Miami Dolphins jersey I will pack up all of mine, with my hats and keychain and coffee cups and boxes of other crap, scrape the stickers off my car and cheer for the rest of the AFC to beat the Dolphins to pieces. Well except for the jest of course (some things will never change). I might come back to the team when the puppy-killer gets his stink outta town. VUCK FIKE MICK
Honestly, I am still wondering why anyone would entertain the thought of trading a first rounder for Kolb.
