The last movie that I watched was Gulliver's Travel. Aside from then fact that it was one of my favorite childhood story. The movie is really spectacular, I'm pretty sure that everybody will like it especially the children because Jack Black's role is so funny and the people are so tiny and cute, If I were to rate I think I'll give 4/5.

    Watched Unstoppable w/Denzel.

True story about a runaway train carrying chemicals and on a collision course with a city in PA.

    Very pleasantly surprised.

The Girl Next Door. Really funny in spots, decent albeit unbelievable plot, and Elisha Cuthbert is a hot box of rocks.

The other guys was soooo funny to me...
There were so many funny scenes in that movie. Like the running gag about the homeless guys having sex in his car. The smacktalking scene where Ferrell is referring to himself as a tuna. The digitography of the bar scene. The scene with the grandmother relaying messages back and forth between Ferrel and Mendes was sidesplitting. The captain working a second job at home depot. It had to be the funniest movie of 2010...

Just saw Southland Tales. I had high expectations and it lived up to them. Very entertaining and would highly recommend it if you haven't seen it as it kinda flew under the radar but has a cavalcade of Hollywood actors in it. Any film that can manage to get Jon Lovitz and John Larroquette in a movie together gets an instant thumbs up for me...

Recently rewatched a classic early 80's film, "The Survivors"...

Robin Williams' character gets pushed over the edge and becomes a survivalist ("When society gets flushed down the toilet, we'll be the ones clinging to the rim!"). Classic underrated movie with Walter Matheau, very funny with a touching ending about the basic decency of humanity. Glad I decided to rewatch it.

I'm currently tempted to watch C.H.U.D. again, due to the imminent hiring of Rob Chudzinsky...

Just watched "Men Who Hate Women (the girl with the dragon tattoo)", a Swedish film that came out earlier this year. I watch most of my movies online and after reading this review http://www.capecodonline.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20110108/LIFE/101080301 Well, I just had to watch it.

Definitely worth it. Not gonna give away anything. If you're in a movie rut and need something original, you're in luck.

I like how the movie takes the extra time to tie up all the loose ends. American films almost always just kill off the bad guy and start to roll the credits. Also, I could have definitely gone without the nudity in this one...LOL.

All three movies have already been made in Sweden:

    • The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo
    • The Girl Who Played With Fire
    • The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest

I watched the first two Monday night. I found the first one pretty interesting and the second one ... ok.

I watched all three of the swedish versions of "The Girl..." series. The first one was the best and very good. The other two weren't as good but they were worth watching. They also completed the series and filled in her background. I believe they are currently making the American version of the first one.

I also saw the Green Hornet. I had fun, but for most it will depend on whether you find SR funny or not. It did get unbelievable at the end, but IMO it wasn't that out of place with the overall movie. Its one of those movies where you have to go in planning to suspend disbelief.

Just finished watching "The King's Speech". Superb acting, especially Colin Firth. He should win an Oscar, hands down. Yes it is a period piece, and its slow by some people's standards I am sure. But it was funny in parts, especially when the speech therapist gets King George to say : "Sh*t, sh*t, sh*t, f*ck, f*ck, f*ck, t*ts.....its hilarious. Highly recommend, I give it a 5/5.

If you can stomach it 'till the climax you'll feel like it was worth it...

This next one is brilliant yet tragic. "Enter the Void"...Normally I don't like watching Hallucenigenic tripfests (especially creepy drug movies like "less than zero"), but this one you simply cannot turn away from. The cinematography and graphics are absolutely cutting edge, exploring scintilating mind visuals and out of body experiences ala The Tibetan Book of the Dead (i.e. "bardo" states). This one is undeniably genius yet may be too much for the casual moviegoer (NOT A DATE MOVIE!)...

the fighter. i was honestly shocked at how good it was. the trailer made me think it would be nonsense. a friend of mine gave me a copy of it on DVD that he got somewhere. im not sure how it looked in it original format, but i think the lower quality video actually helped my viewing experience. i think if the movie was shot with a big budget approach with wide, sweeping shots, the movie wouldnt have been very good. it had a story to tell and stayed with it

Blah. Hopkins is good but the rest of the movie is straight garbage. Ignore the fact that the trailer looks good. Marketing probably saved them a few dollars.

watched the two movies on the life of gangster Jacques Mesrine. Mesrine (Killer Instinct) and Mesrine (Public Enemy #1). You have to see both if you're going to see this with killer instinct setting up public enemy. actually really good. kind of surprised. This is one of France's most notorius criminals so obviosuly very french and dramatic lol but the guy was insane. he broke out of jail four times, would rob two banks instead of one at a time, etc...great acting by the lead actor cassell. there are so many incidents in this guy's life that they dont really spend too much time on any one. character development suffers a bit but the action makes up for it

I liked it ok, but the wife thought it was stupid. She hated the characters, thought they acted nonsensically and rooted for them to die.

Old school sci-fi done very, very well.

Yesterday, we celebrated being snowed in by watching "The Shining" on Blu-Ray. We'd always loved it, but man ... does the Blu Ray transfer ever kick it up a notch.
