This is the season ending thread, and may be some fun. We Dolphans have been through a BRUTAL season BUT, there were a few silver linings. This thread is meant to bring them out. The joke of ownership will stay out of football. Henning and Lee are gone. Wake had a great year, and will get better. Nolan did a great job, and will get better. Bess had a great year, and will get better. Long is as good as it gets at LT. I'm gonna leave it at that to see if others see any silver linings.
Great may have been a bit of a reach. Let's downgrade to a VG year. Let's also add Soliai and Misi, who surprised the hell out of me. Let's also bring in Hartline and Mc D. We had a lotta players who did play well.
If Sean Smith uses stickum next year, could lead the league in picks. Clemons was better than I expected. I knew Dansby was a player, but seeing him game in and out you really appreciate how good of a football player he is.
I thought Misi and Carroll showed more than I thought they would, Carroll played boundary cb when SS24 moved to safety on 3rd downs and he was solid, not bad for a 5th rd pick. But let me clear here, Carroll has to be taken off of kick off returns, his style of running with the football will lead to him being jacked up, he finished this yr with a bum ankle and a concussion. Want to see more of Reshad Jones as well.
Lester Hayes should be a coach. LOL. Agree on Clemons, who woulda thunk it? Here;s a reach, McQuiston played well. Howsabout Fields? GREAT year.
Point being, buttercup....... there's a chance we will no longer have the worst coach in the league. That's a plus, right?
Maybe we'll get lucky and Ross will hire him as our "Football Personnel Guru". Everyone is, of course familiar with Wannstedt's ability to pick QBs.
I think Hartline ,bess ,wake and ricky did a very very good job for this year, wake will only get better but he will want to get paid like one too. I also forgot to mention Dansby,I still think we are 2 years away from being a very good playoff team but thats just me.
Dansby and Marshall showed us why we paid so much for them. 95 Tackles (would have been 100 if he played the final game) and 1000+ yds receiving. They didn't give us any highlight reel plays but they both showed their great players while adjusting to their new surroundings. Im looking for both of them to reach a new level next year. Jake Long is the man. Nuff said. Vontae and Smith have really matured into strong CBs. Soliai really impressed this year. Misi did great. Wake was a phenom.
The problem with that is, I have been saying that for at least the last 4 or 5 years. BUT.........whadoIno.
More of the same.....every team has SOME TALENT..........but they dont have enough play makers, and allot of the people on this team dont respect Sparano, and dont seem to getting up for games. They seem POORLY coached. And all this has been that way for YEARS. That talent didnt help with they played teams that supossedly are even worse then they are..........they lost to the Browns, Bills and Lions....... I argue that the DEF is that good! They played with no desire and got routed by NE They again had the same issues. They cant tackle, they drop INTS, and the opposing WRs are always completely wide open...that is a fact......... They play uninspired...play with NO swagger and that is the way it has been for years. Like they wasted Marinos career, Jason Taylors career, Zach Thomas's career, and now the talent of the few real all pros they have are for not..........
How has no one mentioned Dan Carpenter? We all know about the 4 misses, and that did suck, but he was clutch for us all year. One of the better young kickers in the league. I fell confident with him inside of 60 yards. When was the last time we've been able to say that about any kicker in Dolphins history?
LOL. Sorry, I clicked a smiley at the end but, it did not take. Still, no reason to call me JJ's dog.
Yeah, Hartline came on very well. He was our best player on O there for about a month before getting hurt.
