Don't hold your breath on that one, with Sparano on th Gallows, to roll the dice on VY with his job at stake?

Why not? I'd say Young gives us a much better shot at winning than anyone we currently have on the roster.

I still want to draft someone in Round 1, but I can see and live with a Vince trial if we pass on 2010 QBs for 2011.

Team sport much? Vince is still better than anyone we have at QB.

    Vince Young does?
    Really?

A respected NFL coach threatened to walk rather than continue to be forced to work with Vince Young.
He dosen't have the head for the game and quite frankly it's questionable whether he has the head to keep sane.

If we bring this guy in it's a sign that we'll just continue to free fall until this mgmt. team is gone.
I hope we don't sniff Vince Young. It will strengthen my confidence in Ireland and Sparano if they dont.

Again I dont believe any of that mess about Ireland in that article. Its just window dressing to smooth things out with the fans. Which is fine whatever, not like we can do anything about it really now.

Just have to see GOING FORWARD that whether it was him or not, things CHANGE for the better.

Like I said, I'd rather draft a QB. But going into 2011 with Henne or Thigpen as your starter is going nowhere, unless you enjoy these 7-9 seasons.

Vince has his issues, and isn't my top choice, but anyone who says he is not better than our current rostered QB crew is on crack.

i think its good for qb competition. henne and young have something to prove. them being on the same team would bring the best out of them. henne and young is better than henne and thigpen. what would be even better is henne, young, thigpen and pennington as our qb coach.

Well, idt bringing in Young is the answer "but" what exactly has he done that was so offbase?

I recall the whole "young was so distraught he was going to commit suicide" stuff as being not true, what else is there on him?

Another reason why I would not really be in favor of brining him in is Brandon Marshall, a team deal with one player who has a portion of "me-ism" inside him, two feed each other..as the Bengals found out this yr.

I think a Young/Henne competition is very interesting. Young has improved his QB play this year and is the type of QB that can take over a game, running or passing. A new place, new atmosphere, a chip on his shoulder and this guy could be great for the PHINS. I tend to think his "missing in action/suicide" incident was a little blown out of proportion. He and Fisher we just oil and water and it was bound to happen, especially with such a capable backup in Collins. Young is a first round pick with first round talent, and would come at a pretty reasonable price. I'd be for it. High Risk/High Reward? I think only a moderate risk/High Reward.

In listening to an interview with Kevin Mawae the other day, it was discussed as part of the conversation. He was trying to be diplomatic but it was fairly clear, Vince never put the time into being an NFL Qb. He doesn't come in early, doesn't stay late. Somehow when he's on the field his headset to get the plays from the sideline mysteriously doesn't work. Basically, his teammates on the field have to pick up his slack.

They probably have the interview available somewhere on ESPN. It was around 5:00 I think Thursday, so whoevers show is on the radio at that time.

Stay away from this guy as far as you can.

Yup. His maturity level has been questioned and his work ethic supposedly isn't very good. Perhaps this team rolls the dice that a change of scenery will help. But if they did I would think they'd structure his contract to allow him to be cut with minimal damage.

i can't find an emoticon that slams it's face on the desk repeatedly nor one that is sticking it's head in the oven soooo:tantrum: i heard russell has sobered up enough to find his phone, maybe we should call him real quick.channing crowder has seen more field than young this year.

seriously though i wouldn't mind a player with his physical skill set and yes we really need atleast 2 qb's next year perferably a vet starter that isn't brett favre's age and a rookie to groom but first we need to worry about who that groomer is.lets take it step by step

A lot of VY screw ups can be controlled by an incentive laden contract. I love the talent, but not so sure I want him on this team.

The funny thing is, I really want to watch Cam Newton come Monday night and I have alot of interest in him because he is likely to be on the board when we pick. But quite frankly, he could very well be cut from the same Jamarcus Russel/Vince Young cloth. Huge questions about his maturity and character. And he needs work to be a starter in the NFL.

    Buyer Beware.

Newton seems like he's got a little more going on up there.

I don't mean to be mean, but, you can listen to them speak
and it's pretty easy to hear. Not that speaking well means anything, but,
it does mean you can grasp ONE language.....Football as your seconda language
    can follow.

He's better than anyone on the Titans and they got rid of him anyway. If I was playing Madden I'd sign him, in real life? No. He put himself before his team and his coaches, you NEVER want those guys on your squad, especially at QB.

Really? A post that states the Dolphins are expected to consider Vince Young and you call the Dolphins Rodeo Clown?

I expect you to consider punching a guy on the street. Does that make you a thug? Just because someone expects you to think of something?

They should consider Vince Young, every team in the league should consider Vince Young. A GM is not doing their job if they are not considering any player who started in the NFL

He threw his uniform in the stands for being benched for a finger injury. Had a screaming match with his coach after the game and stormed out of the locker room. Was chased by team mates and refused to return.

    Then there is this.....

    http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=5282771

There is a reason Bud Adams chose an aging worn out in that town type of HC over Vince Young. VY is a head case man. I would think you would know that by now. :wink2:

Do I want Young in a Dolphins uniform next year? No.

With that said, I am going to have to go with Dupree; a GM really isn't doing his job if Young is not considered.

Along with that: Is Miami really in ANY position to really pull anyone else out of the hat of available players? They made their big move last year with Marshall. Yes, Miami would be better with say, Kyle Orton. The problem is, now that John Elway is in charge, he is (via the media) not sold on Tim Tebow. Josh McDaniels was sold on him, so word around the campfire is that if McDaniels goes to Minny, he will try his damndest to get Tebow. Orton is going nowhere.

Miami really has their hands tied. I am just not quite sold on Henne. And another year of mediocrity from the QB position will lead me to an MI way too early in life.

    Vince Young? Don't be surprised.....

I believe I'd take Thigpen over Young, and use his 12.5 millie on signing Thigpen, some better Coordinators, and buying a nice cheeseburger, no lettuce or tomato, extra pickles.

Vince Young was a #3 overall pick and a proven bust now. The verdict is still out on Henne who was a first time starter last season. That is the difference my friend.

I dunno. I am an optimist. Vince is at that stage, and about that age, where sometimes "the light comes on". First round draft pick, stuggles, bad things happens, now he is on the outs. Maybe he realizes that talent with hard work and dedication works better then talent alone. If nothing else, the Dolphins have reputation of having and grueling and hard working set of OTA's Mini-Camps and over all hard work ethic. Maybe he comes here and buys into it. This guy can take a game over and win it. I don't see that in Henne. Might be worth the risk. Might be. I am a little on the fence. I just know I have watched alot of this guy and sometimes he really looks impressive on the field.
