I have been a Miami Dolphins fan for 43 years, I am 51 and a was born in New Jersey, trans planted Jets fan, to Florida since I was eight. I saw a Dolphins game in preseason of 1970 and was hooked. That was when we had a real owner with real players.. But it seems the last 10 plus years this franchise has become the laughing stock. I mean it. I love the Dolphins I really do. And will never jump ship. I Just don't understand what the heck Gloria Estaphoney, Marc who gives a crap Anthony, Old Hamburger man Jimmy Buffet. What do they have to do with football? We need football people, not washed up average entertainers. Those guys is not relevant anymore. Mr Ross is loaded, he does need this crap. I sit at the games and get madder as I watch us flounder around like a dead fish. Fans in the stand are pissed. Maybe Mr Ross should sit with the people who pay the bills a few games, fans. Too see the real side of the game... All the while I hear crap music from washed up stooges.. It has no place on my team. I am a long time fan who gets his tickets from Nate Moore every year. I took in a lot more games years ago, but now can only sit through one. I was at the Monday night game in 09' and saw our fins kill the Jets. This year I sat through the Dolphins getting destroyed against the Patriots.. Now there is a strong NFL franchise. I thought I never say that, but its true. I still hate them but wish we were just like them. We have went Hollywood for some reason. Why, Why, Why? There is no bases for it. We suck really bad. We have been that way for years now. Mr Ross is no different. Is he looking to become the Danial Snyder of the AFC. Snyder is a joke. Is that what Ross is looking to do. Well he's almost there. Well he is on is way. Did I say we suck. Oh ya I did. But had to say it again. I tough Parcells would be different. He's not. He's a fat a.. joke. Its all about the false image and the $$.. He has never really done any thing. If it was not for the Scott Norwood wide right kick in the Super Bowl he would have done nothing. Mad, I'm Pissed.. Really. I get even more mad as I type. He shops for the grocerys. Where Walmart.? We need a true football man who really knows football players. Not just athletes. Time is wasting away. Fans continue to wain in attendance. We have a bad team with several good players. Its a sinking ship if we continue the path we are on. Now you disrespect Tony Sprano. He is doing good job. it takes time. PLease give him a better OC and draft better players, I mean.. come on... Ted Ginn, Johns Beck. The drafts have gotten better. We just need to continue that. Build a strong team with less stadium bells and whistles Fans see right through that.. Pile on fellows..
I go down with the ship mattey. Turmoil really does test your loyalty, whether it is an a personal or business relationship, or in this case being a fan of a team. I won't even consider the notion. Color me a Dolphin fanatic, regardless. Granted, I haven't gone through the number of years you have, but supporting teams during their low points is more important than cheering for them when they're 12-4.
Been a fan since I was 6 years old. I am 46 now. Seen it all and will always be a Phin Fan. I defend them daily living here in TN and take alot of flack for it. Don't care, just water off a ducks back to me. This is the team I choose to be a fan of, good or bad, I will always be a DolFan! Come preseason, I will tell everyone who I know........ Rumour has it the Dolphins are going to the Superbowl this year. Ill get the same response I get every year...... "you say that every year". Hopefully one year before I go, I will be right and I can tell them all. "I told you so".
I feel every word you are saying. I am not jumping ship but I am looking to invest in hangmans rope. I only disagree that Sparano is a nice guy but has outstayed his wecome. I doubt the team respects him and will play hard for him. The term "GIVING CHANCES" bothers me in that give the team the CHANCE to do better and not some individuals you feel sorry for.
If I could I would but I don't think I have it in me. I don't even think I have it in me to pass on renewing my season tickets as badly as I want to right now. I'm pretty sure I'll be right up there in my same ol' seats, enjoying another average at best season. But hey, what can you do. We don't get the opportunity to call the shots. I'm content with the fact that this.... what we're experiencing right now.... what we went through with this past season.... is what being a Miami Dolphins fan is all about. Disappointment & depression is all I know as a lifelong Dolphins fan, but I'm hooked, unfortunately.
Unfortuntely, I'll be going down with the ship too. But I will say this the worst I've felt as a Dolphins fan, worse than 1-15. It's also the first time I've wondered what it would be like to be a fan of team that does thing the right way.
