Not so fast... RT @AdamSchefter As Dolphins figure out their plans, the Broncos are attempting to set up an interview with Jim Harbaugh to get their chance at Stanford HC. RT @OmarKelly ESPN's Chris Mortenson told 790AM that he thinks it's "50-50" regarding Jim Harbaugh coaching Phins in 2011. 49ers & Stanford still in play. Hmm...
Interesting note: Kawakami acknowledged Harbaugh's hiring is "not a done deal," but Dolphins owner and Michigan alum Stephen Ross is reportedly willing to continue to increase his reported $7-8 million offer if San Francisco decides to revisit its current offer. - http://www.mlive.com/wolverines/index.ssf/2011/01/jim_harbaugh_reportedly_on_ver.html
Kudos Friend FinsAreLife: been there done that perplexing thought there were several sources verifying his signing
I applaud the Fins for being aggresive in going after this guy....but i worry cuz this guy is being hyped up even though he has no NFL experience as a coach......are you guys a bit worried? The last time we had a coach come in from college, the guy promised he did not want to be the Alabama head coach and then took the first flight out of town.
timkawakami Tim Kawakami RT @JasonLaCanfora Stanford's proposal to keep Harbaugh eclipsed the 49ers including bonuses. Stanford, MIA, SF and Denver all still in timkawakami Tim Kawakami Mutilple NFL sources indicate Harbaugh isn't sold on the Miami situation. Money talks, but Harbaugh's looking for reasons to look elsewhere.
Let's call it what it how it is! He doesn't like Ireland and how the situation was handled! Mort had a report the NFL circle is turning on Ireland
As I said in a different thread: You know, it makes sense logically speaking. Source told me they would interview Hue Jackson while they were out there. Rooney Rule satisfied. Sparano packs bags/boxes. Done. They fly to LA to sign the contract and thereafter fly to FL to make the announcement tomorrow. Other plane stays in San Jose for Harbaugh's wife and kids to use later. In case you are wondering, yes it was the same plane that flew from San Jose to LA and LA to FL (set to arrive at 1:23am EST) Date Aircraft Origin Destination Departure Arrival Duration 06-Jan-2011 GLF4/Q Bob Hope (KBUR) Hollywood Int'l (KFLL) 06:12PM PST 01:23AM EST (+1) Scheduled 06-Jan-2011 GLF4/Q San Jose Int'l (KSJC) Bob Hope (KBUR) 03:31PM PST 04:18PM PST 0:47 http://flightaware.com/live/flight/N510SR
Total Access also reported tonight that the 9er's were ready to move on and are showing interest in Josh McDaniels as their next HC. They said a HC should be in place by Friday.
If the guy isn't sold on Miami, then lets move on. The last thing our fanbase needs is the next Nick Saban. That would be a disaster.
Per Schefter, Vikings are set to interview McDaniels for the OC job. I am sure he would take SF HC over OC, but just a thought.
McD goes to the Vikes, trade a second for Orton. I'll call that one now. Would definitely be good for us I think, I don't like Orton here and getting a possibly QB needy team out of way can't hurt. As for Harbaugh, I can't really fault him for exploring all options. But I will tell you now that I won't take any report at face value until I see him standing in front of a podium. On a side note, would be funny to see Ross and Ireland get blown away and hire Jackson. I can't say I wouldn't be displeased either.
The shrew has been out shrewed here folks. Harbaugh is staying at Stamford. He is a good coach and an even better snake oil salesman. He knew Luck was coming back, come on, any of you with half a brain knows a college coach is almost as close as a Dad to his top tier players. NFL bite like sharks with blood in the water, Luck waits a few days and says he is coming back and by then, Harbaugh has already been offered millions more then what he is making at Stanford. Stanford thinks about it and says, hey, we have alums that a couple mil extra a year is pocket change, Bing bam boom, a better deal is offered to Harbaugh by Stanford, of which, Harbaugh just knew was coming down the pike. Jim Harbaugh, Stanford coach, 2011 and Rose Bowl Champion. Quite simple folks. Quite simple and very good business if I say so myself. Hat off to Harbaugh and his agents.
Keep Jackson away from this team! If this Harbaugh thing goes south the blame falls on Ireland! Everytime we miss out this worm is responsible! You fire him clean house and bring in Cowher! Jesus everyone hates Ireland!
Why is there so much hate for Ireland right now, I don't get it? Jackson completely renovated a crapfest of an offense for a Raiders team that reportedly has at times had Al Freakin' Davis calling plays from the owners box. He's gotten production from Bruce Gradkowski, finally has McFadden playing, and has been able to utilize the speed of a guy like Jacoby Ford. For a team as offensively inept as we are, I call him an upgrade. As a head coach I don't know how he'd do, but then again nobody does. The Harbaugh thing is up to one man, and that's Harbaugh. Only he can decide where he wants to go, not Ireland, not Ross, not the 49ers, Broncos, Michigan or Stanford.
The hate for Ireland is earned it is documented how he screwed up Clarke, disrespected Sex Bryant, Jason Taylor spoke ill of him! Cowher said Ireland was the problem and can't be worked with. I don't care what Jackson did in Oakland he is not what is best for this team! They fail on Harbaugh and it is clean house and pay Cowher. Do you think it is by accident the reports surface that the NFL inner circle is done with Ireland and the Harbaugh gets cold feet? Guarantee his agent is warning him!
I don't see enough there for the kind of hate an cliff jumping being bandied about on this forum personally, but you go right ahead. Apparently Harbaugh's agent is warning him about everything right now. I guess tomorrow he will be warned against Denver.
Jay Glazer is not one of my favorite sources, but not do to the quality of his scoops but he has a nasty habit of burying folks with MMA stuff. As per usual, grain of salt with this.
aka Harbaugh will sign with Stanford and try to win the National Championship in 2011. Seems like something the media overhyped, a la "Jon Gruden and the Hurricanes."
My 15+ years of being a season ticket holder for this crappy organization is done. I definitely won't be returning to Sun Life Stadium in 2011. This is ridiculous. I'll use that money to upgrade my Heat seats for next season.
Jesus, Im so sick of this sh-t....Tony has to go Ross u dumbf-ck, IDC if its Harbaugh of Jackson or whomever....that dude canNOT coach this team next season.
Ross is a got damn joke & this franchise is pure trash. Sparano loses the players & Ross keeps him? Ridiculous
This was noted on other threads and posted about 1.5 hours prior - instead of having 20 threads on the exact same subject - repeated 10x - we could stick to one discussion thread on the hiring or non-hiring of Harbaugh. http://forums.thephins.com/showthread.php?58334-790-The-Ticket-Confirms-Harbaugh-is-a-DONE-DEAL..-Do-you-guys-trust-LeBatard-Stugotz&p=1390903#post1390903
Thats it, 2011 is a complete disaster. A coach the fanbase hates, a coach our players don't care to play for and an owner that is a complete idiot assclown.
Un****ingbelievable. And no, they didn't determine he.was the best man for the job. What a ridiculous spin.
That has to be a joke and not because I think Sparano is horrible....but how do you just offer Cowher, Gruden and Harbaugh the job and then announce to your fan base that it turns out Sparano will still be the guy. Man, I thought the Leon Hess Jets were bad. I'll never forget the announcement that Rich Kotie was the new head coach. Leon was so proud
The conclusions mat is worn out from all the jumping. Hold until Jay 'Brett is RLY RETIRED THIS TIME, SRS!' Glazer is verified by someone with a ****ing clue.
