I know alot of people are blasting him right now, but lets not forget where we were before he came in as HC...1-15

He won coach of the year(IMO), and led the team to the best turnaround in NFL history.

I personally think he is too much of a MICRO-MANAGER to be a HC(i.e. snap counts in training camp) but I love his heart and dedication that he gave to this team.

So this is just to say thank you Tony Sparano, I know some of us have really appreciated your time here.

Now lets see the fist pump!...

He was so passionate. I know that it doesn't necessarily mean that he was a good coach but I loved his style. I also loved how his team fought on most games. I really hope he does well elsewhere.

I believe that we would've been a playoff team this year (as has been said) if we would've had a good QB. But oh well, those are shoulda, coulda, woulda's. Lets hope that Harbaugh gets the job coming if the rumors turn out to be true.

We where 1-15 because of all the injuries, Sporano was all smoke and mirrors, he got lucky with his first season I always thought he wasn't very smart results speak for themselves.

I'll always appreciate what Sparsno brought to Miami. I'm dubious about this upgrade and would have liked to see him stick around for another two years.

That said, I understand why the change is being made. I wish Tony incredible amounts of luck in the future and hope he gets another shot as a HC somewhere else. Seemed like a great guy who was living his dream.

He kicked *** his first 2 years here, I liked him. I still don't know why he lost his balls in the 3rd season though.

No ill will, good luck to you Sparano, you've been one of the better coaches since Shula.

Awesome post for a thanks to Sparano thread. Are you that guy at work who laughs about the guy who just got fired too? The guy returned this team to legitimacy. Or did you forget about the Wanny, Saban, Cameron era?

Well said and we should all remember that as excited as we are right now about the potential Harbaugh signing, in 2 years if this doesn't work out how we hope we could be begging to be having Tony Sparano back as head coach of this team.

Don't get me wrong. I believe he was fired justifiably for his failures at home against some pretty awful teams. But his total body of work here wasn't horrible.

Thanks for everything Tony, and good luck in the future!

(if indeed you actually are fired. Not sure what to believe at this point...)

Wanny got that in spite of himself, not because he was good. If he was even remotely competent he wouldn't have blown that game in NE. 3 passes when you need to kill the clock. There's the real idiot.

Sparano did carry himself with class. So good luck to him is what we should say.

Although, I would add that in the future have more guts to go for it more. In his first season, he went for it on 4th down quite often. Not that it is the tell all of a coach but all those FG's were surely his demise this year..

I don't dislike Sparano but you shoot yourself in the foot for placing all your eggs in the Henne basket. Coach Sparano thank you for the incredible season going from 1-15 to 11-5 that was a magical year and I will never forget it. I think you have a potential of being a good head coach and hope some other team will offer the chance to prove it. Good luck to you and wish nothing but the best for you.

Damn, didn't even think about that. I think Long is safe though. If we lose him 2 years after this victory, I'll never hold Dolphins survivor again...

See ya Morano I won't miss you and I never liked you! All you are is a Bill Parcells hand puppet! Your only qualification on your resume was " Friend Of Bill"

No need to feel bad for him he is leaving with an extra 3 million! Imagine that 15 million to get rid of Parcells and his disciple!

I will always appreciate what Tony did. He brought the Dolphins from bad to average. I hope he finds a great job and succeeds. IMO he could be a very good college coach with the passion he coaches with. Good luck Tony.

I liked Coach Sparano and felt he always carried himself with class. I think he will land a college coaching job (possibly UConn) and do well as his micro-management style is perfect for teaching fundamentals.

I also find it ironic that people criticized Cam Cameron and Henne for being to stoic on the sidelines and then criticize Sparano for being too emotional.

Yes and yes, but many felt that he should have been the winner due to the impressive turnaround 1-15 to 11-5.

Um...sticky this thread until next season? [unless the Dolphins make the playoffs. It's playoffs or bust for Sparano's job in 2011.]
