It sure is. And what makes everyone believe Harbaugh is going to make an immediate impact. I`m not sure I like this, but it is what it is. I`ll believe it when it happens though.

The difference is,Jim was an exNFLer and Saban(besides being a liar and a coward) was not.
Jim will get a hold of the locker room.

Well, hopefully they add Quality Coordinators at OC and on Special Teams, if Nolan stays that will take a big burden off of JH.

Cameron...... Yes he was the OC in SD but he was a rookie head coach and basically a college coach.
It worked out well for us.

I had forgotten that, however I still think it is a success story. 10 years removed to the NFL only to return and win the division your first year is still an accomplishment I would give to college coaches.

really? You are using the worst team to have ever made the playoffs in NFL history?

In fact there is only one team that is arguably worse to make the playoffs in the history of the NFL, NBA, NHL and MLB.

    This.

flynryan: You sound like every other typical Dolphins fan. "Our offense has injuries, run game sucks, we become predictable, etc...and its ALL Henne's fault." Did you see the situations Dan Henning put Chad Henne in? I'll give you one example: The Devin McCourty INT last week. 3rd and 14, Dan Henning calls a pass that has 2 receivers running routes and a RB running a down and in at the line of scrimmage. New England had 5 DBs covering 2 WRs that were at the first down. What could he have possibly done in that situation? Maybe the throw could've been a little better, but he shouldn't have had 2 guys virtually running routes in the first place on a 3rd and 14.

You can't possibly tell me that with a healthy offensive line and more than 3 receivers worth playing, Henne wouldn't at least succeed. Especially with a guy like Harbaugh hopefully coming in. I've said it for the millionth time and noone gets it.

-Our offensive line had 4 guys on IR
-Our backup TE was on IR
-Brian Hartline (our #2 WR) missed the last 4 and a half games
-We averaged less than 4 yards a carry on the ground
-Dan Henning was our offensive coordinator
-Roberto Wallace and Marlon Moore combined for more drops than catches. I think the stat was they had a combined 13 drops, 12 catches or something close to that number. Either way it was awful.

Name me one quarterback in the league that has succeeded with that amount of injuries to their offensive line, a running game that bad, an OC that bad, and only two WRs that could functionally run routes and catch balls. Not to mention, that QB would have to do it in their 2nd season starting.

I find it funny how much people bash Henne and he didn't even put up JaMarcus Russell type stats. He put up some pretty bad numbers, but wasn't too terrible. The guy literally had nothing to work with almost all season long and when he did, he looked good.

    I like the idea.
You're right in what you said.I also think it's a different situation and Harbaugh can't be put in the same category as "just another college coach".He gets it and has been there before,in the locker room,in the huddles,on the field,etc....

I think there are obviously more ideal ways to get there, however they are now 0-0. Just like the other 11 teams.

Sure that's fine, but you know what he definitely will do that Sparano never done? Overrule the offensive coordinator with his own plays. Sparano let Henning call the shots 100% on offense and of course Nolan 100% on defense. So I have to wonder, what in the world did Sparano do out there the past 3 years? Just yell and scream at our guys to get back to the sidelines immediately after a score and fist pump?

EXCUSES EXCUSES EXCUSES! Henne is terrible he was benches 3 times twice in one game, I played QB through college so I have a real good idea what I am talking about. Chad Henne has been the same QB since his freshman year it is what it is!

    This.

I will give you another: Back a few weeks Henning called two screen plays to the same side of the field. Now lets rewind to something more recent in the Orange Bowl: Stanford on their 2 yard line late in the 3rd Quarter following a pick. They shift the formation only to have the wingback run in motion to take a WV player to the opposite side of the field. Stefan Taylor runs to midfield on a 53 yd run from the 2. Next play, play action bomb to Fleener for a TD. Not having an idiot as an OC is an addition by subtraction. Having a guy who can adapt to a game or situation within the game is a plus. We seemingly got those two things if Harbaugh comes to Miami.

For a reference: http://espn.go.com/college-football/bowls - Click on Orange Bowl Highlight video.

In the end, he will cut Henne or make him play better.

Wow there are still Henne defenders here?  Get real, even Thigpen has looked better than Henne. Henne takes no shots, can only complete passes if they're wide ****ing open by 5 or more yards. His confidence is shot. The best game he ever had was his first career start and since then it has went all downhill for him.

    Harbaugh reportedly offered 8 mil

If Harbaugh doesn't accept, #3 on Ross's list is *really* going to hit the jackpot!

You guys trying to paint this organization as knee jerk don't really have a leg to stand on.
Our history does not in fact show that at all.

Everyone trying to promote that idea conveniently leaves out all the facts of the coaching turnover we've had since Shula left.

I hope to God this is the right guy. I am so tired of this coaching carousel we've been on since Shula was "retired" I can't get excited about any of this. Add on top the way it was all handled and it just seems like so much, ya-ya new coach, again.
