    Hey all,

just looking for opinions on Cable, with him being released as the raiders coach, can he be a viable offensive coordinator or an Oline coach? It seems the guys in oakland are po'd about him being let go.

I'd bring him in as an O-Line coach in a heartbeat.

I dunno..If Henning and Davie Lee were sticking around I might buy season tickets in anticipation of him throwin' hay-makers at them on the sideline.

Honestly, it's the fact someone didn't punch Dan Henning that we're in this mess.

jake long, vernon carey, incognito, jerry? we would have to start all over again. you need smaller guys like samson satele to run that. our oline is big guys. its easier finding two or three big guys than seven new small guys

Outside of Long we don't know if any of those guys will be here next year or be in the plans for a new HC (if we get one). And, if Sparano stays he's shown that he clearly has no problems shifting o-lineman personnel.

so what do you do with long? that scheme doesnt play to his strengths. you have to get rid of carey also. you basically would take a one year rebuilding project to a two year rebuilding project. unless cable can coach smash mouth which he may be able too. i'm not familiar with his history outside of the raiders

I'm pretty sure Long is talented enough to adjust to a zone blocking scheme if we switched.

    Oline coach? Yes.
Anything else? No. I want an O-coordinator who wasn't an Offensive lineman, i.e, too conservative

OL Coach, sure. I don't know if he'd accept the position though.
