It still will take more than one season to rebuild this offense, its so broken. I think people here see this as a just draft some guys we'll be okay. Look we know Ricky won't be here, and we are fairly positive Ronnie won't be here. Simply put we have no running game. I mean we don't even have the bodies there. We have no QB other than Henne under contract. Are you going to put your # 1 draft pick towards fixing the RB position or towards QB, or towards OLine or towards TE ? Tell me which because all of them are well below average for the NFL standard. People we were 31st ! THIRTY ****ING FIRST in offense. That is beyond unacceptable. I just can't believe the passivity of the posters here.

i think some of the positives this season are

qb- Henne - though he really seemed to meltdown at the end of the season, he showed some progress in different areas. He anticipated receivers routes periodically, he looked of his primary targets more, he showed more touch this season on his passes. He didnt have a good year by any means. In fact he had a bad year. But the key is he had a full year's experience except for a couple of games. Thats invaluable. The key to his career comes next season. Does he take all that happened to him this year and work on becoming better or does he flake out? If he works on his game, there's a chance we will see a much more dynamic Henne next year. Its year three if he starts and thats usually when you see the lightbulb go on. so far its been turneed off

RB- Got worse. really dont see any positives

WR - We added Marshall and at times you could see how much of a force he can be. Wildly inconsistent though. Wallace and Moore got some experience. We will see if it benfits them next year

TE - Fasano played up to his 2008 potential so we know 2009 was an aberration. Michkey Shuler actually progressed quite nicely from a body to someone you can play. Will be interesting to see if he can continue to get better

OL - The primary reason for our offensive failures this year IMO (with Henne a close second) Long was gimpy all year, Carey was banged up, Berger cant move anybody in the run gm, John Jerry got sick early and never really contributed. It was brutal but if there is a bright spot its that Jerry got some experience and more importantly will be on his second year of weight and strength conditioning which should help immensely next yeaar, Incognito showed he could play. Not great but would be an awesome backup guard and a serviceable starter. Whats really exciting though is he may be the road grader we need at center. Guarantee they take a look, a very long look this offseason at him at center. McQuistan actually proved himself to be a capable backup and thats important

so any way those are the positives as i see them. not many but there are a few

Only positives for me are Jake Long, Bess and Marshall assuming we get an OC/QB tandem that will actually let him make plays. Carey needs to go inside IMO, which makes RT a need. Nothing on the interior excites me. Both backs can go for all I care. TE needs an infusion of athleticism, has for quite some time actually. While teams like Baltimore and New England are reloading at that position, the Phins sit on their hands.

You act like you do with your post.

Act like you know this team would be 8-8 ever year if the Dolphins had this regime for the next five years is wrong.

Even this year if there were 3 non dropped interceptions miami would have 3 more wins. One missed call and Miami might have beat the Steelers. Better execution and Miami would at least be in the middle when it comes to offense. not MUCH better execution, just not a drop or a missed block. In fact if Miami did get Logan Mankins, Jerry improves and Richie can play center and all of a sudden Miami has a pretty good line.

Decent running backs are a dime a dozen, so getting a decent running back isn't that big of a deal.

They ahve good receivers. Could use a speedy receiver for sure, however the top three they have are the best miami has had since the days of Duper and Clayton.

Fasano is a pretty decent tight end, Miami could use an upgrade there. Definately needs a good second string tight end.

Improve the offense to decent and this team could be pretty good. Especially if the amazing amount of youth on defense improves with their second year in their system. It is not impossible to believe that the offense could be decent, mostly because it was pretty decent in both 2008 and 2009. In fact last year the team was carried by the offense and had a pretty horrible defense.

Sparano hasn't done a great job, however he isn't Rich Kotite. He could learn from his mistakes. They will need a new OC and hopefully the new OC could bring the offense to good enough to win more games and start to build something great.

Keeping on switching every three years is going to lead this team to be the next Lions.

Also I have little faith in Ross's ability to hire the best coach for the job because he isn't looking for the best coach for the job. he is looking for the best coach to get people in the seats. he isn't looking under every stone, he is trying to get the right name to make the fans excited.

This was supposed to be a 4 year rebuild, yet next year almost this entire offense could use upgrades. None of it matters anyway since this franchise still doesnt have a qb that's good enough. The offense the Phins put on the field this year was one of the worst Ive seen in my life watching football. It was terrible. Hard to pull many positives from that, as I dont fistpump fg's.

    IF IF IF!

If Barbie Carpenter didn't find his ball sack against Peterson we lose to the Vikings!

If Chan Gailey is smart enough to start Fitzpatrick week 1 we lose to the Bills!

If Greenbay has Finnly, Lee, and Mathews do you reallthink we beat them? Have you seen us covet a TE?

If Holmes doesn't drop the easiest TD pass of his career we lose to the Jets!

See I can play the what if game to mons just makes us a 3 win football team. The reality is this play not to lose conservative fiat pump a FG mentality does not win championships let alone playoff games in today's NFL!

I don't need a crystal ball I judge it by the outcome. And that reality is last year Sparano finished on a 3 game slide with the playoffs on the line. Although losing to good teams he still dropped the final 2 at home! This year he listed his final 3 games to the Browns, Bills, and Lions this decades 3 worst teams! Back to back 7-9 seasons and folding down the stretch proves he is a 7-9 or 9-7 coach depending on the breaks he catches along the way! What more proof do you need he couldn't close out a 10pt lead at home to the freaking Lions with 6mins left, not to mention his job on the line! Why? Because his FG mentality is part of his soul, just the same way Parcells lived by the play conservative motto lose mentality and had a Scott Norwood missed FG win his 2nd Superbowl!

Also I would like to apologize to the word Mediocre/Mediocrity! I have completely abused your meaning in reference to the Miami Dolphins! Mediocre teams win 8 or 9 games. Crap teams lose to the Browns, Bills, and Lions at home! I am sorry mediocre/mediocrity!
